It is funny, I love all pop music and listen to current and recurrent stuff all the time. I keep forgetting I am 51, but alas, I am ;) I hear you, X. :) 49 here and still paying attention to current pop music and at least finding out what the Hot 100 Top 10 is each week since 1986! BUT I have to say, nowadays I know less than half of the songs in the top 10, ha ha. Even though I'm looking forward to the next Kendrick Lamar album for example, I really just don't get so many of current popular hip hop songs. Today just out of curiosity listened to RAPSTAR and I would've never guessed that song would become a #1... I guess that's 49 to you. ;)

I need your help, Madonnaholics. :) I am trying to remember something and my brain is BLANK. In recent years a song leaked. A version of a known song of hers, but a total different arrangement. I think it was a track of an album, but it was later considered for a most recent album with an updated production?? Perhaps something from Hard Candy remade again for a more recent album? Can't recall!!! Any idea? I think this happened in the last 4 years or so. Thanks!

I was talking about both instances. Chart and fans. People just sort of forget about it. I think it is great. It is a great followup to Rain.

^Indeed, for four solid weeks. One of her record 15 chart toppers.
As for "I'll Remember" being forgotten by the public, it doesn't help that M has never performed it. At least "This Used to Be My Playground," another four-week champ at top 40 radio she's never performed, is tied to a popular film that's shown somewhat regularly on cable and such.

At least "This Used to Be My Playground," another four-week champ at top 40 radio she's never performed, is tied to a popular film that's shown somewhat regularly on cable and such. I think TUTOBMP was a surprise #1 song from her. It certainly didn't really fit in with what was on the radio at the time. Of course, I was ecstatic to see it hit the top of the Hot 100. It was one of those rare instances where a song hit #1 without ever being #1 in sales or in airplay at the time. I think it peaked at #3 on both. It definitely fit the theme of the film. It was a dreamy and lush ballad reminiscing on the past and the film it is tied to starts out that way as well. It stood in stark contrast to the era that was to launch a few months later, Erotica. I vaguely recall that there was speculation that it would appear on her upcoming album, but I think that was before it was revealed the themes or the announcement of the title of the album. It would have been totally out of place on Erotica.

^Very out of place. :) areyoureadytojump- the CHR/Top 40 chart is not the CHR/Pop chart. Notice the CHR/Top 40 chart notes 170 reporters. That's 136 pop and 34 rhythmic stations. The separate CHR/Rhythmic and CHR/Pop charts appeared before the CHR/Top 40 chart in R&R. There, you will see the No. 1 rankings for IR in the last-week, 2-weeks-ago columns. It hit the top of the May 20, 1994, chart.

^I was going to post that link, too, though figured I'd first point out where to see it in Radio & Records. Thanks. :)

More often than not, she gets high marks for her appearances at the Met Gala. The only major clunker she had was a few years ago when she basically wore black ace bandages and electrical tape on her nipples. Quite honestly, nothing was on point with that look. For me, her best look was a couple of years ago when the theme was Catholicism and Fashion. She nailed the look in the black dress, veil, roses, etc. It was basically like the Met Gala said "Look, we need a theme that is perfect for Madonna." I believe she also wore this outfit for her brief appearance in the Dark Ballet video. Other highlights were the Stella McCartney gown. Just very 1940s Hollywood. Everything was stunning. She also nailed the punk look when she came in the black wig. She also looked great the year she came in the short blue dress with black thigh high boots. I could have done without the bunny bow in her hair, but it was such a minor quibble. She looked great the year she was promoting Rebel Heart and she was wearing her long and straight. Her makeup was great. Her facework was settled in nicely. She looked so young and beautiful. I could have done without Rebel Heart painted on the cape of her gown though.

Lisa Rinna is a major fan of the Hard Candy album. All of her dancing videos seem to feature this song or Beat Goes On.

I've been listening to Who's That Girl Soundtrack and did MJ copy a song from there blatantly? Chorus: "I'm bad - I'm so so bad And you know it" Chorus: "Because I'm bad, I'm bad come on now You know I'm bad, I'm bad you know it" Who's That Girl Soundtrack was released June 1987, while "Bad" (song) was released September 1987. It's even more ironic because "Bad" blocked "Causing a Commotion" from #1.
