"Popular" has resurged in Spotify streams, thanks, it looks, to The Weeknd's collaboration with Fortnite.

CNN Madonna’s ‘Celebration Tour’ is her most radical LGBTQ statement in decades amp.cnn.com/cnn/2023/12/09/opinions/madonna-celebration-tour-lgbtq-statement-gabriel/index.html“By the end, the audience is immersed in Madonna’s world as it once was after “Blond Ambition.” It’s a world where personal freedom is limitless, if it’s allowed to be. And that, according to the Madonna doctrine, is a good thing. Forty years into her career, her advice remains what it has always been: have courage and by all means, express yourself.”

If this really did happen, it needs to be an actual full concert recording with ALL the songs.

She sang "I Love New York" set to the beat of "Burning Up" last night. I have to assume she will sing it at all the NYC stops. I am looking forward to it.
I have seen her perform that song about a half dozen times in NYC over the years. It is always a fun moment.

Nice Spotfy rebound this past week; likely not enough to re-enter the Hot 100 for a 20th week, given airplay is now minimal, though no matter.

So I have been a huge Madonna fan ever since I was five years old during the Ray Of Light era. I have been wanting to see her in concert for years. I tried to win tickets to her Drowned World tour from a local radio station in 2001 and was not successful, and when my Dad saw the prices she was charging for the Reinvention tour in 2004, his response was basically "LOL nope." So imagine my shocked Pikachu face when my brother got my husband ( Pipa !) and I tickets to see her in January at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto for Christmas. To say I am excited to see my childhood idol is an understatement. However, there are a few things I am concerned about and I wanted to ask other fans who have been to the show: 1) I mentally prepared myself for her being late. How many hours are we talking though? 2) I read she banned phones and turned off the air conditioner during the Madame X tour. Is she doing that during this tour too? 3) Do you think my husband and I would be better off arriving at the venue late, or arriving on time and just hang out and have our own fun (and probably a drink or two) for a few hours before she starts? I am just paranoid that if we arrive late, it will end up being the one show on this tour where she is on time lol and considering that me seeing her in concert has been over 20 years in the making, that isn't exactly a risk I'd like to take. 4) How much of a pain in the ass was it to get a ride home? We saw Guns N' Roses at BC Place in Vancouver two months ago and it was very stressful (and expensive) to get a ride home. And this was at 11:30PM! I do know Toronto has a much better public transportation system than Vancouver though. Any advice would be appreciafted, thanks so much! :)

I see her for the 1st time in April (rescheduled date) and am kinda nervous about the tardiness as well. Also, Austin has really strict sound curfews and they will straight up shut her sound off, which would be terrible.

Just be careful and don't scroll down the page too much if you want to avoid setlist spoilers. That's how I knew Beyonce would start late for Renaissance and that Mariah was actually quite timely for the tour she just finished. (8:30 pm, out before 11 was magical indeed!)

So I had a BLAST seeing her in DC this past Monday. I bought the Immaculate package so we had access to the backstage tour and lounge etc. It was ridiculously expensive so I’m not so sure it was the best value for money but hey we made it and enjoyed the tour, photos, lounge (with two drinks and some finger food), jackets, despite a few issues (more below). The ticket said the show started at 8:30pm, so I assumed this was the starting time of the opening act, which was almost accurate. The DJ started at around 8:45 and she was awesome. She kept us pumped up with a strong set. She finished after about 40 minutes. And then we waited for about an hour for Bob the Drag Queen to come out and introduce Madonna —about 10:40pm. The show was amazing as always, with more dancers than before, good costume changes, great imagery, and a couple of moments that made me teary eyed. One song was a huge surprise to me, and I was super happy about its inclusion! Although I missed a few songs as well but well imposible to have everything. We missed the Encore too, though, so the ending was a bit anti climatic. The other issue for us was the sound. I’m not sure if it was because of our VIP location but we couldn’t understand more than half of the things she spoke. My husband is American so it was not a language issue , and actually a few times I was able to catch a few more words than him lol, so that was a very big bummer because I wanted to understand her spoken words. Beyond that, she left all on the stage. She danced, sang (with backing tracks understandably), and performed with lots of strength specially considering her health situation. I feel bad for the folks seeing her in cities with a limited or early mass transit system. I live in NYC and our subways run all night, so I am fortunate. Doesn't mean I like her starting late, but I can suck it up more easily.

Regarding "Popular" on Spotify- the cume listed for Kworb's weekly chart differs from that of the daily chart (the daily chart shows a lower cume). Kworb cumes only take into account the totals for when the track is on the chart, thus it makes sense that Kworb's daily chart comes would show a lower total than the weekly chart, as Spotify's weekly chart takes into account totals even for days the track isn't in the top 200. Make sense? :)
So, I think the daily-chart filtered comes I had posted were right, after all. Oy. I'm not going to list the cume for the daily chart from here on out. Globally,"Popular" has never left the top 200, daily or weekly,, so no issues there.
Spotify- Dec. 22, 2023 Global: No. 70 (-1), 2,264,567 (+84,568); 415,394,192 cume USA: 123 (-8), 482,891 (+614)

She never goes on earlier than 10 and she often goes on later but always before 11. So if you go in with this mentality, the most you’ll ever have to wait is 45-50 extra minutes. Phones are allowed and AC is on.

With the year soon coming to a close, can we talk about how glorious Madonna has been looking as of late? There was the ridiculous obsession with her face at the Grammys this year- can't take Instagram posts seriously for things like that, with how she messes with photos- like she said, Instagram is not real. And here she's been, looking beautiful, like classic Madonna.
Not to mention that she survived to head out on another critically acclaimed, commercial juggernaut of a tour. The Queen continues giving masterclasses in performance. Plus, her equal-billing collaboration with The Weeknd and Playboi Carti reaching top 15 at pop, top 10 at rhythmic and top 50 on the Hot 100 (19 weeks charted), plus top 10 on the Canadian Hot 100 and near-top 10 in the UK.
