Listening to FEL even though i'm not a huge fan of remixes. Her discography simply is Pop history, along with MJ.

View AttachmentApparently she was filming a remix video for Hung Up yesterday. I love the red long hair referencing COADF cover.

Does anyone know how the name of the title of this project was selected? Or why it was named this? It sounds different from some of her other greatest hits projects or her material in general.
I feel like there is a song with this title out there somewhere, either that or I am missing the reference or context.

It's a lyric from the final track on the album "I Don't Search I Find."

Not surprising. It dropped 81% in pure sales, from 28,000 to 6,000, and any streaming it had was not enough to keep it on the chart. Could it return at some point? Maybe. But for now, Album Sales is worth following, to see how long it can persist there.
It held on for a second week on the Vinyl Albums chart, down to No. 18.

I’m not mad at it. It was a niche album that was intended for the die-hards and charted way higher than I ever thought it would. Most of the songs had already been included on various collections already and barely any of the mixes were anything new. So bravo for what it did do :)

well that's the streaming era for ya. It's still #10 based off pure sales.

So is it safe to say we’re living in the BYHATW (Bang Your Head Against The Wall) era where no matter how many times Madonna attempts a hit single in the streaming era (the cajillion unnecessary Frozen remixes, the Material Gworlll!! redux that essentially cheapened the memory of the original song, and now this Hung Up 2022 remix) it’s bound to just flop?
What’s it gonna take to have a genuine streaming hit?
Crotchety old Elton John just did it again so why is Madonna having such a difficult time nailing it?

Maybe to make sure she gets in the subconscious of the new young generation regardless if she has a hit or not? She's been going it seems to me for more underground urban/reggaeton/hip hop young artists or such. I'm sure she would love a hit though. Maybe all this generates interest in the new generation to explore her discography?? I have no idea what her marketing plan is.
But she's been trying hanging out and collaborating with mainstream artists for YEARS and I don't think it has worked wonders in the charts. Years have passed and the collaborations with Britney and Justin I don't feel as other of her big classics do. She tried with Maluma and it wasn't huge either. Don't know for whom she's going next. Katy Perry already feels like old news for pop radio. Maybe trying younger blood like Ariana and Justin? Or even Billie?? No idea. It all feels though that she's so interested in hip hop these days. I hope her dreamed collaboration with Lamar works. I trust Lamar wouldn't allow it to turn into a something cheesy or bad with her rapping in it. Would love a fun cutting edge collaboration. For pure pop sound maybe something 1st level really spectacular thing with Britney may take her back to the Top 10. Elton did it with a nice song, nothing out of this world. But he did it first. He gets more of the attention. He was quicker than Madonna. ;)

well it seems that Elton has the right producers, radio deals, iTunes promo, and Spotify placements all perfectly lined up during release week. Even website sales! These are things Madonna, and her team, and Katy Perry's team, are NOT willing to do for whatever reason. Either they think they are above the game and their name alone should equate success, or they're simply ignorant.
Elton is playing the game and it's working very well. It's almost like a well-oiled machine. Very reminiscent of the Teenage Dream days.

Or maybe (just maybe) Elton has released a quality remix with an A-list feature and that's the reason he rocked the charts. My apologies but no one gives a tiny rats ass about Saucy Santana. Madonna has the power and stature to recruit A-list features and producers to make something that is a bonafide hit. Perhaps her lack of effort is the reason why she cant make a dent in the charts.

Yea her method doesn’t work anymore. It worked back in the day to work with underground artists cuz she was still top dog on radio, so no matter what, she’d get spins. Not so much anymore. Not only would she never get spins, the artists she’s recording with don’t get them either. So what’s the incentive to radio? None. Elton working with Dua and Britney is a great move.
