Oh, sweet sounds of freedom Ringing through the air, Sending out a message to us all. Now, we don't have a curtain Made of iron or stone, And we are not divided by a wall.
75. "Let The Music Lift You Up"

This one narrowly escaped castleoblivion26's bottom 5, and only managed to get 3 top 50 rankings. I have always found this song to be pretty dated compared to everything else Reba was releasing at this point in her career. (I mean, yes I know it is the late '80s... But this song came after "Whoever's In New England" which sounds amazing alongside her modern hits, so the production on this one is definitely a step back... Lol)

And with that I am going to pause for a little bit, because up next we lose the first Reba song from the '90s!!!!!!!!!Which means this rankdown is going to start getting real exciting real quick now! Any predictions for what it will be???

My guess is "They Asked About You" or "What If".

Quarter of the way through the rankdown and still nothing has left that I particularly care about. I'm especially glad to see both Kelly Clarkson/Trisha Yearwood collaborations leave as it's a shame the three of those powerhouse ladies got together only to put their efforts into boring renditions of Christmas and religious tunes that I prefer other versions of. They should've delivered something epic.

So let me rephrase my hint, because I just realized something. We are losing the first song from the '90s next...and then the first song from the '00s immediately after!!!!!

hopefully "Sweet Music Man" is the 00s one. If "What If" goes this early I will be disappointed big time!

Ok "Why Do We Want (What We Know We Can't Have)" is my first "big loss" that kinda hurts. It's one of my favorites from her early career and I feel it would've been even bigger if it had been recorded later. I'm sad it couldn't sneak into the top 60.
Having said that I've always hated the album cover for it's parent album 'Behind The Scene' lol The early 80's covers weren't that great to begin with but that one I find particularly bad. It's more to do with what she's wearing tbh though.

This last bunch has got me shook and I'm living for it! I honestly thought the trio of Reba/Kelly/Trisha would have lasted a little longer! So excited for what comes next!!

Yea some of these early 80s album covers were just really, really bad. And it wasn't just limited to Reba as a lot of early to mid 80s album covers (especially for the females) were just not done very well. On the other hand someone like George Strait's early 80s album covers were really great IMO so I'm not sure what happened with Reba lol. They did seem to get progressively better when she switched from Mercury to MCA though.
As for what two songs might go next, I think "They Asked About You" will likely be the first '90s song to go ("What If" was released in 1997 so can't be both of these) and the first '00s single could be something from the Duets project such as "The Only Promise That Remains" or "Every Other Weekend."
I'll also add that I would be very sad to see both "What If" and "Sweet Music Man" leave this soon.

"They Asked About You" better make the top half at least! I'll lose faith in humanity (again) if that leaves already!

What If has to be eliminated next. It's a horrible song. By far the worst Reba song I've ever heard.

I could also see this being the first 90s single eliminated as it appears to be quite a bit more unpopular here than I might've thought. While doing this rankdown this is one song in particular that I was curious to see where y'all would end up ranking it. This might be the first time some of y'all have heard this song so I can understand why it wouldn't be as popular here, but speaking for myself I remember when this song came out and I've always quite liked it and the message (Reba released the song with proceeds going to the Salvation Army).

You claim you still care for me, But your heart and soul need to be free. Now that you've got your freedom, baby, You wanna still hold on to me. You don't want me for yourself, So let me find somebody else.

However , it WAS a #2 hit on the dance charts! So it was definitely very popular among a certain group of people, and helped expose Reba to a whole new audience.
This song always seems to get a bit of hate on Pulse, and I honestly have no idea why. It is SO catchy, and Reba sings the fire out of it! I'm not surprised to see it being the first single from the '90s to leave, but I wish it was a little better liked. {Songs Remaining} (You Lift Me) Up To Heaven And Still Back To God Because Of You Can’t Even Get The Blues Cathy’s Clown Consider Me Gone Cowgirls Don’t Cry Does He Love You Every Other Weekend Fallin’ Out Of Love Fancy For My Broken Heart Forever Love God And My Girlfriends Going Out Like That He Gets That From Me How Blue How Was I To Know I Keep On Lovin’ You I Know How He Feels I’d Rather Ride Around With You I’ll Be I’m A Survivor I’m Gonna Take That Mountain If I Were A Boy If You See Him, If You See Her Is There Life Out There It’s Your Call Just Like Them Horses Little Rock Love Needs A Holiday Love Will Find Its Way to You My Sister New Fool At An Old Game On My Own One Honest Heart One Promise Too Late Only In My Mind Ring On Her Finger, Time On Her Hands Rumor Has It She Thinks His Name Was John Somebody Somebody Should Leave Somebody’s Chelsea Starting Over Again Strange Sweet Music Man Take It Back The Fear Of Being Alone The Greatest Man I Never Knew The Heart Is A Lonely Hunter The Heart Won’t Lie The Last One To Know The Night The Lights Went Out In Georgia The Only Promise That Remains They Asked About You Till You Love Me Turn On The Radio Until They Don’t Love You Walk On We’re So Good Together What Am I Gonna Do About You What Do You Say What If What If It’s You When Love Gets A Hold Of You Whoever’s In New England Why Haven’t I Heard From You Wrong Night You Lie You’re Gonna Be You’re The First Time I’ve Thought About Leaving

"You Keep Me Hangin' On" was the other song lingering around in my mind as being one of the other 90's songs that could be eliminated, but I didn't think it would be this unpopular. This song puts me in such a good mood and when I hear it the dancing queen in me just comes out!

Ugh, this song is SOOOOOO underrated!!!! :'( I can understand why it was a flop on the charts, but that is only because it doesn't sound like a radio song. This song is quality, and I love everything about it. Reba and Justin sound so great together (especially because he is basically just a famous background vocalist who allows Reba to truly shine like the queen that she is, which also helps this not feel like "just another duet with a pop star"). So yeah, I could understand people finding this song boring, but I think the dust that it gets paid is very unfortunate.

To me it is one of the most radio-ready songs on her gospel album, so I was glad to see it get a release! For me this rankdown was the first time I heard this song (and hopefully the last time) and I dislike it from the first couple of verses on. I don't like this "let's all be friends, make world a better place" kind of songs in general - I mean no one will ever top Imagine so they should just stop trying already. And I also don't like the melody and that background choir in this song either. But this is all just a matter of personal preference and I can completely understand that you like this song especially if the message is close to you.

It might be an unpopular opinion here, but Sing It Now is probably my least favorite project she has ever released. I'm just not a fan of gospel albums even if it comes from one of my all time favorite female country artists. Randy Travis has been about the only exception for me ("Baptism" was great and of course there was "Three Wooden Crosses"), but even then I haven't gone out of my way to listen to much from his two gospel albums. That said, I know she has been wanting to make this kind of album for a long time so I'm glad she was able to deliver it to her fans.
