up next at #8 is the next single to fall, which will it be? "Was That My Life" "I Wish" "I'm Done" "Shine" "I'm Done" is probably done!

"I'm Done" is probably done! forgot to mention that TWO people will be losing their #1 next... Hmmm... Probably more likely to be "Shine" then. I feel like that song would be more likely to get flop #1 votes. "I'm Done" is probably more likely to have middle-of-the-pack votes.

I mean, "Shine" is nice and all, but I can't believe it has any #1 ranks at all, let alone two... I mean, songs like "I Wish" and "Destroy The Evidence" are in the running. This is leaving in a good place.

at #7 we have a song that has no top 3 ranks and its lowest rank is a #14! This happens to be the 2nd least polarizing song (#6 is the lowest!)
These next two songs are also both among the remaining non-album songs:
"I'm Done" "Destroy the Evidence" "Get Off That Train" "When I Call Your Name"
(yes "Was That My Life", "I Wish", and "You Belong In The Sun" are all Top 5!)
ETA: The reason I am posting about these two together is they are tied but a Top 2 ranking helped the #6 song win the tie!

"I'm Done" HAS to be the next out. There is simply no other option.
Then everything that is left is amazing, but I think "Get Off That Train" will be the one to miss the top 5.

for anyone unsure of where "Get Off That Train" or "Destroy the Evidence" comes from: Both songs were posted on Jo Dee's website as a poll for her fans to listen to them in their entirety and vote which one they liked better. I remember I did vote for "Destroy the Evidence" but I loved both. As far as I know neither song has ever been available outside of that poll. I think this was around 2009 if I'm remembering correctly ( Kanenrá:ke do you remember when exactly it was?). She left Curb Records shortly afterwards and the songs were pulled from the site. Curb has never released any new music from her since she left them so who knows if they will ever actually release these songs but it is too bad that they won't ever be fully released.

"When I Call Your Name" was my favorite discovery here. Jo Dee's version of this totally slays! Imo it completely blows Vince's original out of the water. This song deserved the top 5. Now, regarding songs that did NOT deserve the top 5, how the HELL is "I'm Done" still here? >

That song is his song 100% but I do agree that Jo Dee's is amazing as well (as is LeAnn Rimes').

"You Belong In The Sun" is such an incredible song I have always found it to be incredibly catchy, and Jo Dee's voice embodies the sunshine perfectly! I have always been blown away by the fact that this was not a single...

"Was That My Life" has always been a favorite mine and I've always really connected with the lyrics...glad to see it make the top 3 at least.

FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!!! Also... SERIOUSLY?!?!?!? How tf is this song in the top 3 for literally half of us?!?!? "I'm Done" is so mediocre and pedestrian compared to everything else in this top 5... It's "catchy" in the same vein as songs like "Treat Me Like A Woman Today" and "Biker Chick", which get almost universally panned when people talk about them. I figured it would end up squarely in the middle of this list, but top 5 is too much. The three songs that are left all slay I would love to see "I Wish" take this, and given the competition, I think it can do it! 3. "Destroy The Evidence" (just because it is so rare, which might factor against it.) 2. "Was That My Life" 1. "I Wish"

I've always felt that while "Treat Me Like A Woman Today" and "Biker Chick" get panned largely cause of how ridiculous the lyrics are and the production is rather annoying on both whereas I feel like "I'm Done" is more in the vein of "My Give A Damn's Busted", DEFINITELY not as good but still enjoyable and not annoying at all. I was glad I wasn't alone in supporting this song cause it is fun.

Oh, I was too slow! Lol "Was That My Life" is an incredible song! I am totally happy seeing it in the top 3, even though I put it at #4 myself It sucks that this wasn't a bigger hit for her. Now I am extra confident that "I Wish" has this!!!!! Let's bring it on!!!!!!!

as you can see this came down to "I Wish" and "Destroy the Evidence". While "I Wish" started out strong, "Destroy the Evidence" came barrelling through, winning by 14 points!
Thank you everyone for participating! I will make a post in the near future opening up the Album Tracks rankdown!

Exactly my thoughts...what?! I don't even remember how "Destroy the Evidence" goes so I'm going to have to go and revisit it again now...but that was unexpected. Nonetheless...thanks again for your hosting duties castleoblivion26!

Jo Dee herself doesn't like "I Wish". I saw her in concert a few years ago, and at one point she took fan requests. Someone requested "I Wish", and she said she was sorry that she couldn't do it, because she only remembers the lyrics to songs that she likes, haha.
I love her version of "When I Call Your Name". I actually prefer hers and LeAnn Rimes' versions to Vince Gill's original (especially LeAnn's version).

That's so weird that she wouldn't like "I Wish", because that is probably the best power ballad she ever recorded! The way the song changes keys multiple times throughout, all building to that epic bridge, allows her voice to shine in ways that it didn't often get to shine I guess I could totally imagine Curb forcing her to record it, since they forced her to put out a Greatest Hits album after only 3 albums before she felt like she was ready to release one, but still... If THAT'S the material they were forcing her to record, she really doesn't have too much to be upset about

Despite the fact that I had "I Wish" as my #1, and was obviously championing it for this entire rankdown, I have no qualms in the slightest with how this rankdown ended up! "Destroy The Evidence" is such a fantastic song, that I figured did not have a snowball's chance in hell of winning this thing. It is always awesome to see a surprise winner Especially when that winner is super deserving from a quality standpoint, but has the deck stacked against it because of bullshit label politics hindering its release. I hope Curb gets their act together one of these days and finally puts out some kind of collection of all the songs they forced Jo Dee to leave on the shelf through the years that she was with them. I imagine we'd get a collection every bit as strong as some of the best songs of her career... It is going to be really cool having "Destroy The Evidence" in the next Best of the Best rankdown!!! Thanks for hosting castleoblivion26 I can't wait for the album tracks rankdown!!!

While "I Wish" was my #1 I'm so ecstatic that "Destroy The Evidence" was able to pull off a win here because it's a great song! for anyone unsure of where "Get Off That Train" or "Destroy the Evidence" comes from: Both songs were posted on Jo Dee's website as a poll for her fans to listen to them in their entirety and vote which one they liked better. The songs were recorded some time in 2011 and that fall they were put up on the poll. I only have them because you were able to download them from that poll by looking at the websites data I don't know for sure but I believe they were from her work with Kandi Burruss which clips were shown on The Real Housewives of Atlanta.
