Damn. I wish this won out of what's left. Outstanding song and would have been a shoo-in for my Top 3.

Pretty predictable top three, all things considered...but will it start predictable at #3? This was a top ten contender from the word go. In fact, it was in the top three for all but three rankings. It spent more time at #3 than it did at #2, but only just.
Only two bottom half rankings will be seen here, but they're pretty low ones for this late in the rankdown. All but six of the rankings are top 20 rankings, and eleven rankings are top ten rankings. At least one poster will get a taste of perfection, but will someone get a taste of a #1 ranking and come up just two spots short?

Their best performance yet...and it will probably remain that way, unless a minor miracle happens in the 2005 rankdown. 3

So, it's Through Glass vs. Vicarious. Stone Sour vs. Tool: Round two. Who won? I won't give you much, but I will say this: The winner won by a lot.

Oh who am I kidding, Drindie tanked it enough to keep it from the top. Good job, Stone Sour. You blocked Tool twice.

I think Doc puts Tool bottom 10 just to be a troll now. Troll be damned, Tool did him dirty. Contrary to Drindie, THIS is my definition of fierce guitar rock. I can't imagine Red's excitement sitting on the rankdown that Tool won this whole time.

And that is that! A pretty successful rankdown, with hindsight being 20/20 and all. I was so surprised that "Vicarious" won in the fashion that it did. I thought that it might have a chance to win, but to blow past the rest of the competition, even the defending champion in "Through Glass"...that was crazy to watch as it happened. Personally, I made a few mistakes early, but beyond that, this went about as smoothly as any rock chart rankdown ever has for me. As always, I'd like to thank everyone who submitted and/or followed along as we went on this crazy ride, and I'd especially like to thank @humanshazam, who would sometimes nearly single-handedly keep this thread moving with posts along my own posts until his unfortunate injury. Again, get better soon!
Now, all of that having been said, 2005 Active is next. rowellfarm490, welcome back to the fold (or, at least, I thought you were hosting next. My apologies if I'm wrong). Batter up!

Okay I can definitely live with "Vicarious" at #1. This was the song that got me into Tool actually. The drums are so kickass on this. Also, a perfect workout song too!
Also, thanks to Red for hosting this. Wish people would comment more but I understand that it can be hard to keep up on here.

10. Dani California - Red Hot Chili PeppersGreat song. falls short on the "fierce" value for me tho. 9. Bat Country - Avenged SevenfoldThe scream, the last note and everything inbetween. This song is f**king great. never a dull at the gym, when this one comes around. 8. Woman - Wolfmotherf**k yeah, This is some fierce Heavy Metal. Sings about my favorite past time too. 7. Welcome Home - Coheed and CambriaI didn't like this half as mush as that other melodic wonder of their's 6. The Pot - Toolgood. now to get that other one out. for a perfect payback for "Lips Of An Angel" and "Animals" 5. Wings of a Butterfly - HIMGreat showing for such a deserving song. You guys even did better than me. Not complaining tho. 4. J oker and the Thief - WolfmotherAwesome! I'm really glad a lot of you put both this band's songs in the top 10. I can almost forgive you for Hinder and Nickelback's harsh treatment, but not quite. 3. Wasteland - 10 YearsI should have out this lower, but it isn't that terrible. 2. Through Glass - Stone SourGreat song, but it's time to retire it.

I can't imagine Red's excitement sitting on the rankdown that Tool won this whole time. Now that I think about it, I over ranked it? Actually it's better than "The Pot", so I put it higher, but It still does absolutely nothing for me. It's about as fierce as a kitten and it doesn't inspire me to do much but wait for it to end, but at least you guys are happy with your #1 song. I'm probably more happy to see 2 Wolfmother songs, and "Bat Country" make the top 10. That's enough for me.

I think Doc puts Tool bottom 10 just to be a troll now. LOL! if that were true those two songs would be #100 and #99 respectively. Anyway, it be interesting to know how some of you compile your lists. For me; It's all about the process of elimination of what I like and don't like in music. and I work from the bottom -up. never form the top- down.

Tool is hit-or-miss with me. "The Pot" was OK, but I like "Vicarious" more. My favorite part of Vicarious was the odd 5/4 time in the middle of the song. It makes bobbing your head from left to right a bit more awkward. "Wings Of A Butterfly" is f**king epic.

Vicarious is just an incredible musical composition. I honestly should have put it at #1, I do like it better than 'Hole in the Earth' but just put that at #1 because it's Deftones.
I remember when the song first came out and I thought the radio said it was Fuel so I was astonished at the musical direction Fuel went in. Haha they played the song every hour on the hour and I eventually figured out the difference, but great introduction to an amazing band

But Drindie calling Tool 'fierce as a kitten' made me laugh. We need to put his ears in a museum, study how and why he hears completely different things

Apologies on missing out on the last two nights of reveals. My stupid self got injured. Anyways, here's my thoughts on the last 25! 25. Waking Up (#18) - Glad this did as well as it did. Loved every single from 10 Years on this rankdown. 24. Rapture (#6) - Hurt was just been consistently great. Not my absolute favorite from them, but this was still awesome. 23. Every Day is Exactly the Same (#14) - Love the piano on this one. Great song from NIN. 22. I Dare You (#60) - The weakest song from them on this rankdown. How it got so far is beyond me. 21. Tears Don't Fall (#43) - One of the best I've heard from BFMV. Great song. 20. Through the Iris (#9) - Incredible vocals. Another great one from 10 Years. 19. Beast and the Harlot (#45) - One of the better ones I've heard from A7X. 18. No Way Back (#32) - Kinda meh for the Foo's, but not bad. 17. DOA (#37) - See #18, but not quite as good. 16. When You Were Young (#19) - Awesome song, but not active in the slightest. 15. Miss Murder (#44) - I'm just kinda tired of this one. Good song, but not AFI's best. 14. The Diary of Jane (#62) - One I'm sick to death of. Overplay killed this one for me. 13. Hole in the Earth (#5) - I'm baffled this didn't make top 10. That riff is killer. 12. Image of the Invisible (#2) - Ouch. So close to the top 10. Incredible song, such driving instrumentation. Such an energetic anthem. 11. Hypnotize (#23) - Never been one of my favorites from SOAD, but still great. I thought this would make top 10. Here's to 2005, I guess. 10. Dani California (#49) - Always enjoyed this, but Wet Sand should've been the lead single this was. 9. Bat Country (#39) - Probably one of my favorite 2 songs from A7X. That opening scream, and that chorus is too damn catchy. 8. Woman (#13) - Killer song. Channels their inner Led Zeppelin. Glad to see it made top 10. 7. Welcome Home (#1) - Sigh. Such an incredible, incredible song. Extremely epic, feels like I'm going into war. You just can't beat that guitar. Glad it at least made top 10, which is farther than I expected. 6. The Pot (#11) - Knocked this one down a bit from 2007. Still awesome, but the other Tool song here is far superior. 5. Wings of a Butterfly (#15) - Very surprised this made top 5, but not complaining. Epic gothic rock song. 4. Joker and the Thief (#8) - VERY glad this made top 5. Such an epic song. The riffs here are just fantastic. 3. Wasteland (#4) - WOW. I'm so glad this made top 3, higher than I could ever hope for. The vocals on here are just out of this world. Great job, guys. 2. Through Glass (#20) - Incredibly emotional song, but I'm a tad tired of it. 1. Vicarious (#3) - YES! Such an awesome winner. The song that got me into Tool, it builds in such a perfect way. That climax is simply epic. Well deserved winner. Well Red, sorry I couldn't be here for the end, but it was a lot of fun guessing the first 75! Amazing rankdown, glad you got to host it. Very well done. Looking forward to Active 2005!
