No Number 1 for Bruno 😭 Looks like this will be Bruno's First Time Peaking at number 2 (if he even gets to number 2 ) . I Hope Psycho can take down God's Plan... Although God's Plan had a Good Video.

Oh my god I hope Booty charts, just for novelty sake and how much Spectrum Pulse will rip it apart. What a hilariously dumb song.
Also YES at AOTS jumping! I didn't expect it to gain that much off the video drop, and I certainly didn't expect it to stick around in the top 10, let alone gain! Get those dual kits Kendrick!

The 52/25 recurrent rule took care of that 52/25 kicks songs off the chart but it doesn’t misrepresent their position. The UK chart is no longer a real popularity chart. What has or has not changed about the UK chart?

I just checked and noticed Psycho was within just over 200k streams of God's Plan yesterday at Spotify. That's the closest any song has been since the latter's release.

March 5, 198301 04 Billie Jean - Michael Jackson (1st of 7 weeks at #1)February 28, 199801 NE My Heart Will Go On - Celine Dion (1st of 2 weeks at #1) March 2, 201301 NE Harlem Shake - Baauer (1st of 5 weeks at #1) Wow, 3 of the most interesting #1's in history first hitting the top those weeks, BJ and MHWGO arguably two of the most iconic pop songs of all time, and Harlem Shake having the largest streaming week ever (likely to be broken this week) due to an explosively popular but short-lived 30 second dance meme, and that was also the first week YouTube started to count. I remember it being so controversial when it hit #1, the Hot 100 thread for that week blew up for like 20 pages.

In hindsight, the YouTube inclusion was obviously a good-choice in measuring popularity but choosing for the inclusion week to be during such a rare week was terrible.
You had people thinking Harlem Shake's week would be the new norm. A song every other week would just debut at #1 from YouTube clips, and have an insane lead.
Someone mentioned that its weird nothing has happened like that since, and I have to agree. 5 years later and no other song has reached #1 purely from the strength of user-generated YouTube clips. You had Wrecking Ball return to #1 from a viral clip (and I think that might've also been the case behind Shake It Off returning #1), but nothing where a song blasts to #1 after having 90% of its points come from user-generated videos.

If YouTube was counted before 2013 do y’all think Gangnam style would have been number one and Friday by Rebecca Black lol Gangnam Style most likely would've been #1, it got views at what was literal godspeed at the time. It was the first YouTube video to reach 1 billion views and I still remember people going apesh it about it (how quickly it got it, the fact that it coincided with the 12/21/2012 incident) like it was yesterday. Friday would've been a funny situation but I doubt it.

I will say this for "Harlem Shake", it's interesting how an instrumental (mostly) made it to #1 in this decade; it hadn't happened since 1985. Not that I care about instrumentals, but still pretty fascinating. You know what else hasn't been #1 in a long while? A cover. Have we had a cover at #1 since "Lady Marmalade"? I don't mean a cover of another #1 song, I mean any cover. I also like how soundtrack songs have been making a comeback since 2015.

I haven't commented on these in a while, it seems, so let me run down what I'm fascinated in. I am pleasantly surprised to see that "All the Stars" is actually predicted to go up to yet a new peak this coming week. I expected it to drop after the effect of the movie wore off. I hope it can still reach the top 5...or maybe even shock us all and become a surprise #1? Also, wow at "rockstar" still being in the top five. :O I never expected it to do this well even five months after debuting. I am very happy to see it having such longevity on the charts! Maybe it can still challenge the record for the most weeks in the top ten? I love both "Shape of You" and "rockstar" so I'm fine either way, whether it does break the record or not. "God's Plan" is already in the top ten on airplay? Whoa, that was unexpectedly quick! Then again, I wouldn't have expected it to be a number-one hit, either, and yet here we are, lol. It's crazy how "Meant To Be" will probably be Bebe Rexha's single highest-peaking song. That's another very unexpected hit, IMO, especially given the lack of success of country-pop hits this decade (I believe "Need You Now", "Dirt Road Anthem", "Cruise (Remix)", and "Body Like A Back Road" were the only other country-pop songs to hit the top ten since the beginning of 2010? Correct me if I am mistaken). I guess it is debatable whether or not "Meant To Be" classifies as pure pop, but I see it as a country-pop crossover. Plus, it is doing well on the country airplay charts, too. I'm sad to see "New Rules" miss the top five. Yes, I do love the song now. I got infected by the "New Rules" bug, too.

Re: Streaming. This week's Streaming chart is almost 80% Hip=Hop edged, and that is not including songs like Finesse. So it is overwhelmingly Urban and as we have seen of late, it is the clear indicator / guiding force of the Hot 100.
What I found intriguing is that looking back 4 or 5 years ago at the Year Ends, Hip-Hop only accounted for about 15% of the Streaming chart. I suppose this dispels a bit of the argument that "Hip-Hop has always been as popular as today, it just wasn't able to be measured". It seems that, as I have long suspected, there was a nadir for a few years in the early 2010s. The question I have - after the explosion in the mid to late 90s and straight through the 2000s - is why did Hip-Hop dip so dramatically as s cultural force in the early 2010s? We had Drake - we had Nicki - Was it just a sort of fatigue with the Cash Money sound? And what specifically brought it back if kids were not streaming it in such numbers just three years ago?

Looks like Finesse will either hit number 1 this week or next week and wow God's Plan is slowly getting traction on radio and looks like it'll be in the top 5 soon . Hopefully All the Stars keeps gaining on radio it's seriously a good song and maybe shake up the top 5 this week or next week I'm tired of Perfect , Havana , And Rockstar and basically the rest of 2017s songs still in the top 10 .

As I wrote that, I almost said "Right Round" doesn't count, lol - it's the one I remembered the most, totally forgot about "Blurred Lines". Side note, I love "Blurred Lines", and hate "Got to Give It Up", I just don't get what that song was trying to be. I didn't know about "Uptown Funk" sampling stuff. Also, lol at "Shape of You" apparently sampling "No Scrubs". Must take a good ear to pick up on that, never in a million years would I have drawn a connection between those two.

("The Monster" was a letdown, though it grew on me) I would be more than happy with "All the Stars" eventually becoming a #1 hit. That being said, what the hell does SZA sing about? xD Very weird when in a given song it's easier to understand what the rapper says than it is to make out what the singer says. I knew mumble rapping was a thing, I guess mumble singing is the next big fad.
