 Ladies and germs, I know there are a lot of rankdowns right now, but I want to add another short and fast one to the mix. This one is bound to be popular! Maddie & Tae are a new country duo, whose debut album was met with HUGE acclaim back in 2015. With the news that their second album appears to be imminent, I have been listening to their debut on repeat the last few days. I want us to celebrate the short but fantastic career of these ladies to help alleviate some of the gap between now and the release of their new music! Like I said, this one is short and fast. It is only an 11-song album, and will be due on Sunday, March 25th. That way this one should fit nicely between the other country rankdowns that are due in the first and second weeks of March, without too much conflict 
 The Songs:

Downside Of Growing Up***Note: We will not be ranking the deluxe edition, because the 2 bonus tracks are just acoustic versions of "After The Storm Blows Through" and "Downside Of Growing Up", and I feel like it is super pointless to try to rank 2 version of the same song. Especially because this album is already traditional enough that the acoustic versions are hardly different from the real versions.

as I only ever listened to their debut single, I may have heard the second single but I don't remember I need to listen to this so I will definitely do this! This might be the saddest post I have ever read  You managed to miss all the hype and awesomeness of "Shut Up And Fish" being on the radio??!?! "Sierra"'s a little more excusable because it flopped. But lol all their singles except "Sierra" have been in year-end rankdowns the last couple years, so I'm not sure how you missed them... I think you will enjoy this album quite a bit though! I was a little hesitant to check them out because I don't want to listen to teenage girls singing about high school, but I quickly realized that their music is mature beyond their years. Their music has a clear identity, with strong songwriting and a frequent whimsical flair, and they are very confident about the direction they want to head. And the production is a delicious throwback to the mid-00s! This album is dripping with fiddle, steel, mandolin, dobro, and all the best stuff Several of the album tracks, like "Waitin' On A Plane", "Smoke", and "After The Storm Blows Through" are so much better than what I would have expected if I only knew their debut single! |

This might be the saddest post I have ever read You managed to miss all the hype and awesomeness of "Shut Up And Fish" being on the radio??!?! "Sierra"'s a little more excusable because it flopped. But lol all their singles except "Sierra" have been in year-end rankdowns the last couple years, so I'm not sure how you missed them... I think you will enjoy this album quite a bit though! I was a little hesitant to check them out because I don't want to listen to teenage girls singing about high school, but I quickly realized that their music is mature beyond their years.
