Beautiful Awakening is the third, and as of 2018, the last album released by Stacie Orrico. It was released internationally in late 2006, and had a planned U.S. release of January 16, 2007. The U.S. release was sent to stores in limited quantities, before being quickly withdrawn. I was actually able to find a copy of the U.S. version at FYE, having no idea the release was withdrawn. The album marked a huge shift in sound from her breakthrough self-titled album. The lead single, "I'm Not Missing You", was a pop song in the vein of her previous hits "Stuck" and "(There's Gotta Be) More to Life", but aside from that, this album is very heavily rooted in R&B and soul. Stacie also abandoned the religious lyrics of her first two albums, focusing mainly on relationships here. Honestly, at the time, I didn't really "get" the album because it was so different from her other stuff, but now I think it's aged beautifully. The title track is just gorgeous. I definitely recommend that R&B fans check out this album if you haven't. After the album failed to make an impact and was shelved stateside, Stacie (who was only 19 at the time of release) decided to take a break from music, and she hasn't released an album since, though she announced that she wanted to return to music in 2013. It's a shame that she gave up after this album, because I think she was really starting to develop her sound. She has a surprisingly soulful voice, and I would have love to have seen what she would've done after this. Some of the producers on this album: Dallas Austin and Novel, KayGee and Terence "Tramp Baby" Abney, The Underdogs, She'kspere, Track & Field.

It's been a while since I've listened to this album, but I miss her voice. I liked I'm Not Missing You and Beautiful Awakening, so I'll probably take another listen.
Edit//Listening to it now. I'm loving Easy To Luv You, Save Me, and Take Me Away so far. It's a shame that it never got released in the US.

Don't Ask Me To Stay is a bop and Brush 'Em Off is flawless...
(Technically it was released in Jan in the US but pulled from shelves, I bought a copy at Wal-Mart right as they were taking them down)

This is a good album. It is very different from her previous two. You could hear the growth and maturity on here. Her first two albums will always hold dear to my nostalgic heart. I remember being 15 and listening to them alot over that summer break. *Sigh* Memories.
I gave this album a first listen on Spotify yesterday as I never really got a chance to buy it back then. My fave tracks are "Save Me", "Take Me Away", "Don't Ask Me To Stay", and "I Can't Give Up". I really do miss her alot. I wish she was still making music. She's enormously underrated, beautiful, and talented.
