This is decidedly not what I expected to be revealed first.

@jamesflame loses the tank race, and to add insult to injury, #9 only beat "Never Meant" by 1 point. But will he have much longer to wait? This song also has 4 top 10s in total, one being a top 5. It has two top 15s and only two bottom 30 ranks. Slow and steady won the race for this song to end up in the top 10, and it never left the top 25.

#8 beat "De-Luxe" by 24 points, one of the bigger margins in the game. It is the first song revealed to have been in the top 10 throughout the whole game. We go back to only having 3 top 10s, but two of those are top 5. It also has 4 more top 20. Its lowest rank is a bottom 15.

Let's go back to sniping 1s. #7 can claim one as well as another top 5 and a near-top 5. This song was only out of the top 10 twice, and never outside the top 15. It has 4 top 20s, and no bottom 25s. Oh, by the way, it's the 12th lowest SD. Didn't want to leave that out.

Sad to see "De-Luxe" go, but at least it made the top ten. And my two lowest songs are out, though they're both in my top 20, so I'm certainly happy to see them make the top ten, too.

After #6 is revealed, there will only be three 1s left on the board. This song is the second to have been #1; it showed up there on two different occasions, once fairly late. In fact, the last movement is the only time it was ever out of the top 5. Aside from that pole position ranker, there are 3 more top 5s, one more top 10, and one top 20. The song's weakness was its 4 placements in the 20-35 range.

#5 has the 4th lowest SD. Out of any of these songs, it took the longest time to get to the top 10 (ballot #6), but it never backslided. All but one of this song's rankings are in the top 25. One is a top 5, 4 more are top 10s, and two more are top 20s.

You know what, I'm going to try something different for #4 and #3. Traditional previews would be boring, and these songs share something in common.
#4 is my #44. What could that be?

Your final 2.
When You Sleep Would? The Tale of the Tape:These two songs were #1 on all but 3 occasions. They have the lowest and third lowest SDs. Only rowellfarm490's #1 is still in. Did he back the right horse? The winning margin was a beastly 39 points. Put together, these songs have 13 top 10s, 8 being top 5s. No one ranked either of these songs in their bottom half.

"Fell on Black Days" means a lot to me. It meant a lot to me before Cornell's death, and it certainly means a lot to me after his death. It was always going to be my #1 choice, even if I briefly considered putting Screaming Trees there because I knew they needed the help. Then again, if I had done that, Soundgarden would have finished at #4 and not #3.
"When You Sleep" was one of my favorite first listens (cringe because it was a first listen at all), but I'm still glad "Would?" won in such a decisive manner. It's just such a good song.
Another fine rankdown, gates. I'm REALLY excited for the next one, too!

Would you look at that, this little rankdown has graduated and is ready for the archives! I'd like to thank everyone who followed along. The reveals once again went off without a hitch, good times were had and good jams were enjoyed by all, twists and turns kept the results exciting, and I learned to do my own stats like a big boy! I bet you're wondering, "does this guy have another rankdown up his sleeve?" Yes, I do. And for this next one, I'm "taking my talents to" the world of pop RDs. But don't worry, it'll have plenty of rock in its own right (such as Boston, Queen, Chicago, Heart, Cheap Trick...look, just go see for yourself). I call it, the 70s Pop Extravaganza.

10. Never Meant - American Footballnever heard this song. It's a bit too instrumentally ,simple for me. 9. De-Luxe - LushNever heard this, but i dug it. Might have been one of my high ranks too. 8. Leave Them All Behind - RideI've heard this band's music. I like their guitar works, but they sometimes make me wait to long for the vocals. In this case? Two whole minutes. I've lost interest by then. Musically; it's not bad tho. 7. Disassociative - Marilyn Mansonsingingrulebritannia . is this song what your pulse name, all about? Just wondering? . I thought it had to do with Grunge music or something? Good song. Gave me "Tournaquet" vibes, and that's always a good thing. 6. Dramamine - Modest MouseThere are some interesting effects here, but not a song that blew me away. 5. Catch the Breeze - Slowdive By now it's obvious I like Dreampop style. 4. Wish - Nine Inch NailsSorry but vocally Trent is a tune out for me. I wish he would use his singing tones more. He sounds good when he sings melodically. IN all honesty; This song is also too noizy for me. 3. Fell On Black Days - SoundgardenGood song for Soundgarden, but nothing can overthrow "Spoonman" 2. When You Sleep - My Bloody ValentineNever heard this. Instruments sound like they need a tune up? Vocally it was good, but musically ,it was a bit rough around the edges. 1. Would? - Alice in Chains I knew this WOULD win! One of Layne's best vocal performances. This one is way up there with "Man In A Box" Did someone mention Cheap Trick in a a rankdown? I'm there.

I'm surprised that Screaming Trees had the highest standard deviation, and I'm glad that two of my top 10 made the top five. Also nice to see that I was the one who put "Would?" at #1 to stay. Great song.
