James' "Indie" Rankdown, Vol. I (fin)

Hellllooooooooo and welcome to my new personal rankdown! This was widely inspired by Daryl the Beryl 's rankdown series that he has been doing, so I'm stealing this idea for my own. My lists are probably a lot different than what you would expect from Daryl, but hey, that means more obscure stuff, right? This is just my third personal rankdown after my Shuffle and Inspirational rankdowns. I plan on making this one a recurring series – if it's actually successful.

Now, why is "indie" in quotations you ask? I feel like everyone's definition of indie is different, and I am sure there's a few here that don't really qualify for the tag, but I want them here so tough. *read the disclaimer at the bottom. I came up with a list of 40 songs ranging from the early 2000s to today that I really like and that I want to showcase in a rankdown for y'all. You will see some familiar faces, but as usual with my personal rankdowns, there will be some discoveries coming your way. Coming from your PMA winning eclectic poster of the year, I hope I am holding that crown in good vain.

The deadline is set pretty far away since there are a decent amount of songs you haven't even heard of. The deadline is Sunday, April 22nd at 5:00 PM CST. I hope with the long deadline, I don't have to extend closer to finals week. Hopefully we can get the participants too. That's usually a big problem with my personal rankdowns, lol.

Yeah, I wasn't really around much today, so I couldn't get to updating the spreadsheet. I can extend to Wednesday then (same time)?

This was a cool playlist. Can't say I loved everything, and there weren't actually as many chill songs here as I was hoping for. Everything was a first listen for me, but I am confident in the songs that I ranked at the top being my favorites even though this isn't my style of music. My top 2 in particular gave me the chills when I first heard them, they moved me so emotionally since I've not been feeling so well. It's a tie between my 1 and my 2, I honestly can't decide.
