You hold me like a prayer, you touch me everywhere A lifetime just ain't enough to love you true
11. Now That I Found You Points: 287 Writers: Paul Begaud, Vanessa Corish, & J.D. Martin Release Date: April 6, 1998 Album: How I Feel released in April 1998 as the first single from her album How I Feel. On July 17, 1998, the song reached number one on the US Radio & Records chart, number 2 on the Canadian RPM Country Tracks chart in July 1998 and number 2 on the US Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart I love this as it felt so different for Terri at the time and still does stand out among her ballads.

These reveals are starting to get very painful now! :'( Also, "I Wanna Do It All" is such an anthem and I, too, have a hard time understanding what's so unpleasant about it. It's such a motivational song imo! And really? A last placer for "She Didn't Have Time"? Have you no heart? Have you no soul? I didn't rank it that high, but the story that unfolds here is a tearjerker when you're in the right mood. "If I Were You" is a very underrated cut, that gets very minimal airplay these days on older country stations (you may have to dig very deep and possibly spend some money if you wanna hear it amongst a huge collection of songs!). I will admit to nearly forgetting about it, but it's truly a gem in her catalog. Although I ranked "Now That I Found You" low, I actually don't mind. It does sound a little poppy for her usual style, but it still ain't half bad imo. I probably would've had this in my 20s had I not discovered her more recent songs after her success in the US.

This one has always felt super blah to me. I was surprised to find out it was one of her biggest hits, lmao.
Also the "you hold me like a prayer, you touch me everywhere" line feels kinda ill-fitting coming from her imo -- even though I like it (especially melodically).

Also for the remaining audience.... (Pictured here) The only remaining song with multiple #1 rankings is going out next at #10!

Nooooooo so close to top 10. Ugh. This song is incredible </3 LBTrocks you are garbage. Our friendship is cancelled. The lyric that Kanenrá:ke quoted is literally one of the main reasons why I hate the song so much, lol. Her "not having time" is not the reason why she didn't lie about being a mother... she didn't lie because unless she's planning to ditch the kid, lying about that is futile the guy's gonna find out anyway if anything were to happen between them. I don't care if you had all the time in the world, common sense alone tells you it's not a good idea to lie about something like that, if only for the fact that it's not a lie that is feasible to perpetuate. So stupid. I hate it when songs try to force a lyric to fit the overall narrative... drives me crazy. Just like Jordy with "I Wanna Do It All" this was an easy bottom choice for me tbh.

Old grey sweat pants turn us on We like your friends and we love your mom And that's the truth 10. Girls Lie Too Points: 261 Writers: Connie Harrington, Kelley Lovelace, & Tim Nichols Release Date: April 19, 2004 Album: Greatest Hits 1994-2004Released in April 2004 as the first single from her Greatest Hits 1994-2004 album. The song reached the top of the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart on September 11, becoming Clark's second and most recent number one single in the United States. I remember being so hyped up for this one's release and thinking after it was so big that she'd keep scoring hits! Sadly this is her final hit in the U.S. but thankfully she kept putting out material in Canada!

Ugh, noooooo! This is such a freakin' jam! Look at all those #2s. Damn. This deserved top 5 at least imo. :(
The reveals are not going well for me since they started back up again tonight, lol.

He never polished his boots before Never thought about what he wore Never knew he could feel like that Now there ain't no way he can ever go back
9. When Boy Meets Girl Points: 261 Writers: Terri Clark, Tom Shapiro, & Chris Waters Release Date: October 31, 1995 Album: Terri ClarkIt was released in October 1995 as the second single from her album Terri Clark. The song reached #3 on the RPM Country Tracks chart in February 1996and #3 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart. A classic Terri song that I think gets somewhat overlooked because of her debut single. I'm a little shocked it garnered 3 #1's here though!

If only promises could just erase the past I could open up my heart enough to take you back But we've been down that road Time and time again I've learned the hard way how the story always ends
8. Everytime I Cry Points: 251 Writers: Bob Regan & Karen Staley Release Date: January 25, 1999 Album: How I FeelReleased in January 1999 as the third single from her album How I Feel. The song reached number 2 on the RPM Country Tracks chart in May 1999 and number 12 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart and #69 on The Hot 100. The chorus of this one is my favorite song to sing along to in her discography! I was so worried with the first two lists I received that this would get tanked, I'm very happy it made it this high!

I like this one but definitely rather surprised this one made top 10. It certainly doesn't come to mind ever as being among her most iconic songs or anything, but it's definitely well-liked judging by it having only top 30 ranks and nothing below that. Impressive!

My bones are achin' from the weight I'm holding now I took all that I'm taking I'm breaking, breaking down 7. Three Mississippi Points: 249 Writers: Hillary Lindsey, Angelo Petraglia, & Troy Verges Release Date: March 22, 2003 Album: Pain To Killreleased in March 2003 as the second single from the album Pain to Kill. The song reached #30 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart. I will always think this is one of her best written songs and I'm still in shock that radio didn't take to it. :'(

Wow @ all the top 10s for this one. Well-deserved! This song is an absolute jam and I'm glad it came this far despite being a surprise flop on the charts. This is every bit as catchy as the other two singles that hit off the record, so I don't get how this one didn't at least make the top 20 when it was released. Missed opportunity from radio for sure.

So why don't you send me your photograph? It would hurt a lot less than taking you back Then I could still have my favorite part of you 5. You're Easy On The Eyes Points: 223 Writers: Terri Clark, Tom Shapiro, & Chris Waters Release Date: July 10, 2000 Album: How I FeelReleased in August 1998 as the second single from her CD, How I Feel, it spent three weeks at the top of the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart, giving Clark her first Number One single in the United States. It also topped the Canadian Country chart and made it to the top 40 of the hot 100. This one used to be lower in my list of singles but after seeing it live it truly came alive. It's the perfect song for singing along live and every time I've seen her perform it she's very lively during it.

I want a road stretching out before me I want a radio in my ear I want a full tank of absolution
4. No Fear Points: 220 Writers: Mary Chapin Carpenter & Terri Clark Release Date: February 10, 2001 Album: FearlessIt was released in January 2001 as the second single from the album Fearless. The song reached #27 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart. So this one is my favorite song of all time! I just remember falling in love with the lyrics, melody, the vocal...literally I find everything here to be perfection. I've dreamed of Terri and Mary working together again to see what would come of it. Or bringing Steuart Smith back as a producer. Flawless!

Well, I met a boy in the Vieux-Carres Down in Yokahoma He picked me up and he threw me down Sayin', "please don't hurt me, mama"
3. Poor, Poor Pitiful Me Points: 208 Writers: Warren Zevon Release Date: September 23, 1996 Album: Just The Samereleased in September 1996 as the lead single from her second album, 1996's Just the Same. Clark told Billboard magazine that she heard Linda Ronstadt's version of the song in a local gymnasium while she was exercising. She said "and I thought, what a cool song. What a great country record that could make. I started doing it live, and it worked." "Poor Poor Pitiful Me" debuted at number 47 on the U.S. Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks for the week of October 12, 1996. Clark's version was a number one hit on the Canadian RPM country charts, and a number five hit on the country charts in the U.S. I love Terri's version, however I actually knew the Linda Ronstadt version first and while they're similar I liked the 70's rock sound for the song better than 90's country. Both are jams though!
