I hadn’t heard for awhile, but the lavish, dreamy production and Gloria’s vocals hide the unbelievably creepy lyrics after the first chorus where the song flips from acceptance in opening lines to obsession. I wonder how many stalkers adopted this as their theme! No way this would slip by in today’s far more aware environment.
