This is my first attempt at a rankdown, so I chose an easy one to put together: all the songs I have on my computer that begin with "the." Coincidentally, there's exactly 100 of them. Here they are, listed alphabetically:

These are all songs that I've gradually accumulated over a span of about 15 years. As you can see, the list is somewhat rock-oriented, but still disparate in terms of genre, decade, mainstream recognition and weight of subject matter, so you will experience style whiplash if you choose to participate. Unfortunately, I'm not a subscriber to any music streaming services, so I can't post a playlist like many people have with their rankdowns, but I know that every song is available on YouTube.

1. Some songs have album versions, single versions or special remixes indicated in brackets and blue. Please listen to and rank those specific remixes.
2. Conversely, avoid listening to any remixes of a specific song if I do not have them indicated in brackets or blue.
3. "The Devil In I" has a very graphic music video, so if you'd prefer to avoid it, then you can listen to the song without the video at this link.
4. "The Message" is extremely hard to find regardless of audio format. If you have difficulty finding it, then you can listen at this link, though the sound quality is not very high.
5. The single version of "The Profit Of Doom" is 4:33 long, but the album version is 10:47 long, and it's erroneously labeled "Profits Of Doom" on many YouTube uploads. To avoid confusion, you can listen to the single version at this link. The accompanying video has some intense moments and dark imagery, so if you prefer to avoid it, then you can downsize your window or open a different tab while you listen.
6. "The Way Around Is Through" is extremely difficult to find on YouTube, but you can listen to it on the full album upload at this link. The song begins at 21:06 and ends at 25:55.
7. The remix of "The Way You Love Me" isn't always labeled, so you can listen to it at this link.
