Holy s**t, with Drakes new single announcement, do you think its possible that he'll have 4 songs in the hot 100 top ten? I don't think so, the 4th song could knock out WITI out of the top 10.

God's Plan is no longer #1 on Spotify in terms of rolling 7-day streams.

^But at least its daily streams seem to have fallen under 2 million, although that mark could be topped during weekend days.

As I said, “GP” has now been back ahead on Spotify. In other words, if The Weeknd doesn’t rebound he won’t actually be ahead anymore. What am I missing?

There’s a ripple effect that’s sometimes noticed when a long running topper suddenly faces competition from a big debut. Seeing those initial results along with metric charts where the perennial gets beat incite a bit of a lack of confidence in radio in particular, who hasten lowering spins of the song or slow down the gains, causing a chain reaction with fewer general public-fueled streaming and fewer curiosity buys. It happened hard with Despacito once LWYMMD came along, and One Dance entered an accelerated decline once Cheap Thrills began aggressive promotion with the discounts and localized radio editions.

No chance the Drake song is the one with Paul Anka in it, right? Cos I'm curious and excited about that.

So Drake's long running #1 single could be replaced by another Drake #1 single that could run just as long

The Weeknd's 'Call Out My Name' Headed for Top 10 Billboard Hot 100 Debut
News
By Gary Trust | April 06, 2018 3:53 PM EDT
Concurrently, parent set "My Dear Melancholy" is slated to launch atop the Billboard 200.
The Weeknd's "Call Out My Name" is aiming to debut in the top 10, and perhaps the top five, of next week's Billboard Hot 100 chart (dated April 14), as parent set My Dear Melancholy is headed for a No. 1 launch on the Billboard 200.
Based on preliminary data projecting the tracking period feeding next week's Hot 100, the song, on XO/Republic Records, should bow in the top five of both the Streaming Songs and Digital Song Sales charts, with over 35 million U.S. streams and over 30,000 downloads sold in the week ending April 5.
The song is from The Weeknd's new album, which looks primed to open atop the Billboard 200 with around 150,000 equivalent album units in the week ending April 5.
The Weeknd is seeking his eighth Hot 100 top 10. He notched his seventh in February, when "Pray for Me," his Kendrick Lamar duet from the soundtrack Black Panther: The Album, debuted at its No. 7 peak (marking his highest entrance).
Meanwhile, My Dear Melancholy should arrive as The Weeknd's third Billboard 200 No. 1 (all earned consecutively), following Beauty Behind the Madness in 2015 and Starboy in 2016.
Highlights of next week's Hot 100, which blends streaming, airplay and sales data, according to Nielsen Music, will post on Billboard.com Monday (April 9), with all charts posting the following day (April 10).

It's getting zero airplay so far, so I don't see how it can stay there for long though. The only radio friendly songs on the album I see might be Try Me or Privilege.

Apparently Drake is releasing his new album at the end of April, which gives us Drake v. Post v. Ariana.

Does Ariana's album have a release date already? Or single, actually, I'm more interested in a potential single.

April 27: Post Malone drops an album Janelle Monáe drops an album Ariana Grande drops a lead single And now apparently Drake drops an album Lord have mercy.

For the next #1, Ariana? Really? Ariana's never had a #1 hit yet, so I have my doubts she will be able to debut there. But we'll see.
