The surprise is......that the #1 and #2 are tied in points!
Because I break ties by the number of #1 ranks, the one with more #1s is crowned the winner of the Red rankdown! The #1 song was #1 when the last person, CF15 submitted. When I added the edits, my edits and @drakeisskinny 's edits made it so that the two songs were tied.

This song went over my expectations to challenge the #1! I thought the #1 challenger would be "I Knew You Were Trouble.", but it proved too prone to tanking to ever pose a threat for the #1 spot. "Red" however received widespread support and ended up as having the lowest standard deviation by far ("Red" has 3.578 whereas the second lowest has 4.066). The hidden message, "SAG" is speculated to refer to Sagittarius or Screen Actors Guild, both of which point to Jake Gyllenhaal as the subject of this song. "Red" debuted at #6 on the Hot 100 upon its release as a promotional single, and peaked at #7 on country radio when it was released as the third country single from the album.

I had originally thought this would safely get the #1 spot by a pretty safe margin, but that didn't turn out to be true. It was always a neck-and-neck race with "Red", and at times fell behind to #2. I mentioned before in this rankdown, but Taylor describes this song as 'the most emotional song on the record'. The hidden message most likely refers to the time Taylor and Jake Gyllenhaal were spotted together having coffee, and back in 2017 a story about how Jake's sister didn't remember where Taylor's "All Too Well" scarf was. The song received 13 #1s, which is the highest number of #1s that a song had in this rankdown. Her Grammys performance is flawless, it made me love the song even more.

Both of these were instant standouts for me. Red performed a lot better than I thought it would because I don't recall the first impression on this board being that positive.

I don't think All Too Well is the best song in her catalogue (Blank Space & Style say hi), but it's just such a good song. And, like for many others, the Grammy performance elevated the song even more for me. I debated a lot on my rankings and swapped them around quite a bit, but this was always my #1. One of my favorite songs of all time.

The Out of the Woods related material has really helped push it up my ranking - one of the highlights of the 1989 Tour where she gives some extra belts and growls and the music video and Grammy Museum performances are amazing too. And New Romantics. Yeah, 1989 RD will be fun too...
