Didn't see a thread for this yet, but Restoration: Reimagining the Songs of Elton John and Bernie Taupin is a tribute album to Elton John featuring country performers, so I figured it oughta have a listening party:

Thanks for posting this! I didn’t even know about this release. So far I’m really liking “My Farher’s Gun” by Miranda and “This Train Don’t Stop There” by Rosanne Cash and Emmylou Harris (they sound great together). Guilty pleasure is hands down “The Bitch Is Back” by Miley Cyrus!
I do have to say the standout track likely goes to Chris Stapleton on “I Want Love.” His voice intertwined with the string arrangement is so smooth and something I’d like to hear more from him in the future.

tim I was actually surprised to see no one had made a thread for this because I'd seen a little side discussion of it here and there and with the TV special too I thought there was some decent visibility for it. But I guess not everyone had heard about it yet so I'm glad I brought it to at least someone's attention, lol. I gave this a spin last night for fun and I must say that I loved Miranda Lambert's contribution to this. "My Father's Gun" right down to the title sounds like it could've been slipped right onto one of Ran's own studio records. What a great pairing for her voice. She totally killed it live on the special, too (which is what really prompted me to check out the whole record on Spotify, honestly). Other standouts for me are the Rhonda Vincent/Dolly Parton collab because everything Dolly touches turns to gold, the Little Big Town cover because 10/10 on harmonies as always, and I also loved Kacey's contribution a lot. For non-country fans, there were 2 tribute albums that were actually released, with the other set being comprised of a myriad of artists from other genres in the pop, rnb, and rock circles (from P!nk and Gaga to Mary J. Blige to Coldplay and The Killers, etc.), if anyone feels compelled to check that one out too.

Take Me To The Pilot, I Want Love, and Rocket Man are the winners for me.
