I think Scorpion will have not more than 15 songs. Drake needs this album to receive universal acclaim and thats just must easier with less filler. Post isnt going to be quite as frontloaded as j cole when it comes to streaming. With the big playlists support he has, I definitely see at least 1 song other than Psycho getting multiple 4mil days on us spotify. He looks like hes very well positioned to break More Lifes record and get over 400 mil first week streams. Maybe even get 10 songs in the hot 100 top 20 lol Drake is my fav so im hoping that with his insane power and 15 songs(including the two singles already released) might just be enough to take the record back from Post. All this is just so f**king exciting I don't really mind Post, but I'll be pretty pissed if he break's More Life's record. I do have a feeling that he could perform much lower than our expectations. Like something below Cardi B's. The thing is, although he does do very good on streaming, I think that there could be a big difference between an artist that can get one song to debut very high, and an artist who can get an entire album to debut high. And the reason is with Post is that I think his music is not targeted at the same audience that is used to listening to full albums. I think his music is more targeted at a more Pop-ish demographic than Drake, and that they are more used to listening to singles rather than full albums. The Chainsmokers might be a good comparison? They had many strong debuts with Paris, Something Just Like This, and Closer. But then they failed to do anything close to an album takeover. Just a hunch. I may be eating my words in a week or two. Not sure i agree with you on Posts fans not listening to full albums. There was a billboard or hdd article not too long ago with the updated sps for Stoney and I was kinda suprised that it has almost the same number of streams as More Life and is still going strong. Thats super impressive for a debut album and i think those insane legs are going to be reflected on B&B's first week.

to be fair with consecutive album bomb drops how heavy will they affect other songs' overall chart performance? i assume it won't be by that much but still these songs lost two weeks at a higher position before dropping off at 20 weeks (if unlucky)

^To note, Cardi B's album bomb the week before didn't cause any song to go recurrent before its time and probably caused at most 2 songs to drop out for a week and another one to drop out one week earlier than it might have, but it was already on its way out. Also, ironically, I Like It might have prevented Be Careful from reaching the top 10 last week by debuting in it. Plug Walk being denied a new peak and Walk It Talk It another week in the top 10 are the two other major things I can see didn't occur last week. All of those things will go down in chart history.
Looking forward to next week's Hot 100, Perfect might drop out of the top 10, not being able to extend its number of weeks there to 26 and Never Be the Same won't reach the top 10 assuming it had a chance without J. Cole's album songs. Let You Down and Feel It Still could go also go recurrent as a consequence.
As I noted before, weekly Hot 100 positions indicate the relative positions of charting songs in relationship to each other but the songs will still earn whatever among of weekly points they get if they chart. The real impact, at least, in terms of the Year-End Hot 100 would come only if a song went recurrent earlier due to the album bombs. Having a lower position would only affect the historical record for the song if it failed to reach a peak it would have reached. If were talking about Decade-End or All-Time Hot 100, the lower position a song has during that particular week would actually reduce the amount of points the song gets for that week.

We'll see in the next couple of weeks though

Hahahaha Hopefully Akon, T-Pain, Chris Brown, and Sean Kingston release new music for the summer, but I'm not holding my breath for any of them. In the meanwhile, I hope Becky G, Inna, and Alexandra Stan bave big hits again in the US, but again same case as Akon, T-Pain, Chris Breezy, and Sean Kingston. Last but not least, I deeply wish that 6ix9ine, Lil Pump, and most mumble rappers (aside from Migos, Rich The Kid, Lil Yachty, Lil Uzi Vert, and Famous Dex) go away and get replaced with fun rappers or rappers with actual talent like Sage The Gemini, Kyle, SOB X RBE, Joey Bada$$, Flo Rida, Pitbull, and Jason Derulo. I will rethink about 6ix9ine if he makes fun summer music (Gotti was a step in the right direction) but until then, he can go away.

Rihanna will likely be smart with release of something of hers. Pop Crave just tweeted that she is working on two new albums. With one chart-friendly album. Rihanna would be smart to release Thursday, 5/17 or Friday, 5/18. This way she would have good promotion by Billboard and a special performance on the awards the Sunday, 5/20. Rihanna is good on streams too so whatever Post and Drake have in the meantime we can sort out a top 3 or 5 with whatever she has. Rihanna needs to work on something upbeat, which shouldn't be a problem considering how smart and upbeat type of artist she is. Rihanna would then likely have all promote and be able to get a Top 2 or Number One hit before Kanye, Cudi and Drake steal the show in June.

Hopefully Akon, T-Pain, Chris Brown, and Sean Kingston release new music for the summer. It's 2018, not 2008! Akon is easily capable of a comeback, given the next album he releases is an Akon album with big name features (like Nicki Minaj, Justin Bieber, or Rihanna) and good promotion in the USA, not a Konvict Kartel album (Konvict Kartel vol. 3 will flop). Chris Brown still releases music that charts well, hopefully the success of Freaky Friday makes his next single from HOAFM be big (hopefully it is a summer / poppy song). T-Pain sadly will have to do lots of work to become huge again (like redoing his duo with Akon in the mid 2000s). Sean Kingston got a couple of years (He is 28 years old) in his prime. He needs a poppy song with a big name feature and good promotion.

But I think it's unlikely that they'll release anything (except Chris Brown, who releases about 20 singles each year haha). And even if someone like T-Pain or Akon released something this summer, their record labels would probably largely ignore it which means they could easily slip under the radar. Ne-Yo has a new song out with Bebe Rexha and Stefflon Don which might be the kind of song you're looking for (fun, catchy, summery). I'll be interested to see if it does anything in the charts, he collaborated with two up-coming females so he could get airplay. While we're on Stefflon Don, her song Hurtin' Me is a perfect example of a great summer song! A shame it hasn't done better in the US. I was more than happy with Unforgettable alone for last summer. It's one of the best songs I've ever heard. Chris Brown and Sean Kingston had a song called Beat It a few years ago which was a borderline hit.

And even if someone like T-Pain or Akon released something this summer, their record labels would probably largely ignore it which means they could easily slip under the radar. Akon can do it without a label, just look at his EDM collabs and his remix of Picky by Joey Montana. At this point, he is a household name but needs a bit of a revival in the USA. As for T-Pain, it is very difficult for him.Ne-Yo has a new song out with Bebe Rexha and Stefflon Don which might be the kind of song you're looking for (fun, catchy, summery). I'll be interested to see if it does anything in the charts, he collaborated with two up-coming females so he could get airplay. I know about that song, it is named Push Back (On my BEST SONGS Rankdown), hopefully it succeeds, but it can be largely ignored like "Bum Bum Tam Tam" Remix, but Ne-Yo is capable of doing it.While we're on Stefflon Don, her song Hurtin' Me is a perfect example of a great summer song! A shame it hasn't done better in the US. If it were 2016, it would do really well in the US, but she might chart with it now, even despite it being nearly a year old. This song is getting a radio push.I was more than happy with Unforgettable alone for last summer. It's one of the best songs I've ever heard. I agree with you, but there needs to be at least 5 summer songs, it will be redundant if you only listen to one.Chris Brown and Sean Kingston had a song called Beat It a few years ago which was a borderline hit. I know about it (Also on my BEST SONGS Rankdown), just wish that they make more hitsResponses are in bold.

Kanye will be big but there could be some real backlash that affects him. He could be hit by left-leaning fans abandoning him the same way Eminem was hit by right-leaning fans running away. Also, we seem to be in a season of 2000s icons underperforming or outright flopping. It may just be his time...

^Actually, I'd say he needs a better release strategy than he had with The Life of deleted. Making it a Tidal exclusive and pricing it at $19.99 were bad choices. And he needs to take his meds to avoid wayward Tweets along the way.
BTW, did anybody else see this week HDD's Streaming Songs chart? I usually don't bother with it, but I noticed it has Final Status. Also, No Tears Left to Cry is not listed, which seems a clear omission to me.

We've all accepted that he's a batshit crazy person who often puts out fantastic albums. And Eminem flopping has nothing to do with Trump. It has to do with Revival being terrible, and him not evolving with the changing landscape. The people who supported Eminem in 2010-2014, were all young-ish Pop music fans who listened to Pop radio and liked Rihanna, Nicki Minaj, Macklemore and other successful urban/pop artists at the time. They weren't a bunch of grumbling old Trump supporters jamming out to "The Monster" and "Love The Way You Lie".

Seems odd how for the first time one of his albums does poorly AFTER he alienated the fans he had that supported trump.

Since we're on the topic of the summer, I'm really hoping IDGAF continues gaining momentum and becomes a huge summer hit It’s too bland and unremarkable to become a huge summer hit.

^Personally, I think One Kiss may have the better chance to do so. Even though I like IDGAF more, One Kiss is just more danceable and catchy.

I'm not sure if "grumbling old people" is the most accurate representation of Trump supporters anymore. Trump isn't as unpopular as you think with young people. Exit polling data from both the recent Alabama election with Roy Moore and the Pennsylvania special election with Lamb vs. Saccone showed that the trend of the youngest demographics being the best for the Democrats and the worst for the Republicans has changed since 2016. The 2017 Alabama election showed a small shift towards Republicans with young people, and the Pennsylvania election this year has shown an even bigger shift towards the Republicans with young people. In the Alabama election, CNN's exit poll showed that 39% of 18-24 year-olds voted for Roy Moore (Republican). Whilst about 32% of 25-39 year-olds voted Republican. So the Republicans were actually MORE popular with teenagers than they were with people in their 30's in the Alabama election! Likewise, the Democrats got 59% of the 18-24 year-olds, and about 66% of the 25-39 year-olds. So the Democrats core support is now coming from 25-39 year-olds, NOT 18-24 year-olds like it has usually been in the past. You can see the results by age here: imgur.com/gallery/MDRAY(Also, CNN supports the Democrat party, so I wouldn't expect them to manipulate the data to make it look like the Democrats are beginning to lose support with 18-24 year-olds). By 2018, the change has become even more drastic. In the Pennsylvania election in the exit polls they found that 43% of 65+ voted Democrat, 49% of 18-45 year-olds voted Democrat, but 55% of 46-65 year-olds voted Democrat. So the Democrats were LESS popular with the young than with middle-aged people! And the Republicans got 56% of 65+, 49% of 18-45 year-olds, and 44% of 46-65 year-olds. So really it's middle-aged people who are most anti-Trump. The young don't seem to hate it as much anymore. Also, Democrats and Republicans both got 49% of the 18-45 year-olds, so it's a virtual tie. In 2016 and before, the Democrats would have EASILY won this demographic. In the same exit poll they found that 18-45 year-olds as well as 65+ year-olds were both gave an overall positive approval rating of Donald Trump, whilst the 46-64 year-olds gave Trump a negative approval rating. You can find all this data in this PDF document: www.publicpolicypolling.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/PA18PostElectionSurvey.pdf To find the results by age you can look from page 18 until the end. In fact, in almost all questions, it's the 46-64 year-olds who give the most "left-wing" answer, whilst the young and the old both give more conservative answers. (I'm not sure about the political leanings of this company btw). There's going to be a lot more election results this year, so we will get more data. But based on current trends it seems we might be seeing a shift where the young are becoming more right-wing and the Democrats core supporters will now be middle-aged people, instead of the young. The Hispanic Heritage Foundation (which I think is likely an overall left-wing organisation, "Hispanic" and "Foundation" aren't terms you tend to see often in right-wing spheres lol) also did a survey of High School students. They aren't able to vote, so we don't have much data on them. But they use a huge sample size of over 83,000 students, and they found 31% of them supported Donald Trump, compared to only 22% who supported Hillary Clinton. So Trump is actually MORE popular with high school students than Clinton is. Also, in this survey, you can filter by race and sex, and if you do that you find 57% of 14-18 year-old white males would have voted for Trump, whilst a tragic 9% say they would have voted for Clinton. Young white males are also Eminem's key demographic. So I think this is telling. I think a lot of teenage white boys won't have been thrilled that Eminem did that diss track against Trump (and they are going to be thrilled that Kanye is wearing a MAGA hat btw). It's true they likely wouldn't have bought his album anyway, but it has probably hurt his streaming I would imagine (along with the overall lower quality of the music). Here's a link to that study: public.tableau.com/profile/mycollegeoptions#!/vizhome/PresidentialPolling-Fall2016/PresidentialPolling2016 And an article about it: hispanicheritage.org/50000-generation-z-high-school-students-identify-republican/But basically, what I'm trying to say, is that quite a significant number of the people who were jamming to The Monster and Love The Way You Lie a few years ago could now be Trump supporters. His supporters aren't all 60 year-old white men like people imagine. They're also 16 year-old white men haha.

Pretty much nobody takes Kanye seriously on that level anymore. Guess the whole trump thing affecting Revival is an agree to disagree thing then. Seems odd how for the first time one of his albums does poorly AFTER he alienated the fans he had that supported trump. Relapse also did poorly relative to all the other 21st century Eminem albums (except for Revival). He had a lot of hype, and had a #1 soft debut with "Crack A Bottle". And another Top 10 entry with "We Made You". But none of the songs were able to last more than 17 weeks. They all fell off fast. Ultimately, it ended up looking like a flop compared to his three previous studio albums. And it looked like even more of a flop in hindsight compared to the very successful "Recovery" and "MMLP2". And the reason it disappointed basically came down to the fact that it wasn't very good and failed to appeal to a wide number of people. That's what I see with "Revival" except to the extreme. Eminem dissing Trump should have been a big positive for him. Remember the army of highschool aged fans that Eminem had in the first half of this decade? Now they are old enough to vote and tend to be vehemently opposed to Trump. But they didn't come out to support Eminem. Because his music was terrible. Meanwhile, the biggest rapper of 2017 disses Trump 4 times in his album, and is very popular with the same group of people who were stanning Eminem 4 years prior.
