I'm actually a tiny bit scared about what Post Malone's streams will be like when he releases the album. I like the guy, but he does so well on streaming it's insane. Probably better than everybody except Drake (and maybe Kendrick). Oh boy, he's definitely going to do better than Kendrick That would give him like the third biggest chart takeover ever behind More Life, and Starboy. Unless KOD also surpasses Kendrick's Damn. He's got 18 tracks. I don't really expect every single one of those tracks to chart, tbh. But we'll see.

This is the calm before the storm, two album bombs in a row. The charts are gonna get fucked.
I do expect rockstar to reenter the Top 10 next week.

Wow, I didn't realise that Thunder was about to reach 52 weeks! What was Demon's final week count? I know it got at least 61 weeks (Billboard's site is messed up right now and won't let me go beyond that week without redirecting me to this week). Radioactive obviously also had insane longevity. I wonder what the record for most songs with 52+ weeks on the chart is? They must hold the record with three Don’t forget about Believer! Also I believe It’s Time reached 52 weeks as well. Nah, "It's Time" got 47 weeks. Still shocking though.

Random fact: If "Thunder" hits 52 weeks, it will have the lowest average position of all songs that spent exactly 52 weeks on the charts.\
"Say You Won't Let Me Go" being the current weakest 52+ week song.

Early Predictions For 5/12/18 BB100 (lol) 1. Psycho 2. New Post 3. Nice For What 4. God's Plan 5. New Post 6. New Post 7. No Tears Left To Cry 8. Rockstar 9. Meant To Be 10. KOD
That would be 3 debuts for Post in the Top 10, including three songs in the top 5, and an incredible five songs in the Top 10. Album guaranteed to break records. Early album prediction: 350-425k. Kanye will probably have: 425-575k. Kanye and Cudi: 350-425k. Drake: 825-950k. Drake will definitely have a significant effect. Billboard about to get messed up.

Early Predictions For 5/12/18 1.Psycho 2.Nice For What 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. 9. 10. Woah, that early? I mean given the slow rollover of the charts in addition to a few particular artists releasing a lot of music and almost getting free passes with it, it’s getting easier to predict further off weeks. I mean at this rate, I feel like this will probably be a pretty accurate prediction for 4 months from now: 9/?/18 Hot 100: 1. A new Drake song 2. A new Post song 3. A new Rihanna song 4. A new Ariana Grande song 5. A new Weeknd song 6. A new (or maybe another single from her album) Cardi B song 7. Nice for What 8. God’s Plan 9. Meant to Be 10. Because Sheeran never releases a fourth single...Perfect

2018 is bout to be a lit year just by these huge artists and their singles/albums. With artists like Shawn Mendes and Charlie Puth still continuing their good streak. Ariana Grande with prob one of the best pop singles this year. The Weeknd with his old vibes. Drake releasing his 2 biggest songs to date plus an album coming. J Cole dropping his album. Post Malone is bout to drop his album. Kanye West and Kid Cudi bout to come as well. And this is only the first half of 2018. Way better year than 2016 and 2017 combined

I have a feeling that Rihanna will release sometime this summer, as well as maybe Justin Bieber, late August, at a time he usually releases yearly. And with Kanye's album coming on June 1 and Cudi feature on 8th, there has been some rumor of a Kendrick feature. If so that would likely become the summer song of 2018, of course until Drake releases his new album, which will TAKE OVER the summer. Summer 18' about to be LIT UP, oh my god I'm excited. Hahahaha

Since we're on the topic of the summer, I'm really hoping IDGAF continues gaining momentum and becomes a huge summer hit

How many tracks do you think Scorpion will have?
With some of you guys thinking that Post Malone will have one of the biggest chart takeovers of all time with his 18 track tracklist. I'm wondering how many Drake songs are going to be on Scorpion.
Another question: How many songs would Drake need on Scorpion to have a bigger first week on the Hot 100 than Post Malone?
The way I see it, Drake is more hyped than Post Malone on a base level. But if Post comes with 18 songs, and Drake comes with a lower number, than Drake could potentially fail to have as big of a first week impact as Post Malone.
Side note: One of the songs on Beerbongs and Bentleys is "Candy Paint", which already spent 20 weeks on the chart. So getting that one to re-enter may be a challenge.
The way I see it, I think Drake could have like 12 songs and still beat Post Malone.
I honestly don't see Post Malone having a better first week than J. Cole. But maybe I'll be wrong.

I think Scorpion will have not more than 15 songs. Drake needs this album to receive universal acclaim and thats just must easier with less filler. Post isnt going to be quite as frontloaded as j cole when it comes to streaming. With the big playlists support he has, I definitely see at least 1 song other than Psycho getting multiple 4mil days on us spotify. He looks like hes very well positioned to break More Lifes record and get over 400 mil first week streams. Maybe even get 10 songs in the hot 100 top 20 lol Drake is my fav so im hoping that with his insane power and 15 songs(including the two singles already released) might just be enough to take the record back from Post. All this is just so fucking exciting

All this is just so f**king exciting I don't really mind Post, but I'll be pretty pissed if he break's More Life's record. I do have a feeling that he could perform much lower than our expectations. Like something below Cardi B's. The thing is, although he does do very good on streaming, I think that there could be a big difference between an artist that can get one song to debut very high, and an artist who can get an entire album to debut high. And the reason is with Post is that I think his music is not targeted at the same audience that is used to listening to full albums. I think his music is more targeted at a more Pop-ish demographic than Drake, and that they are more used to listening to singles rather than full albums. The Chainsmokers might be a good comparison? They had many strong debuts with Paris, Something Just Like This, and Closer. But then they failed to do anything close to an album takeover. Just a hunch. I may be eating my words in a week or two.

There is no way Drake isn't having the biggest debut of all time with Scorpian, it could be a 100 song album with him farting for 48 hours and all the tracks would still chart.

if Kanye's album only has 7 songs, do you think they could all go top 20 ? would that even be possible ? Simm expects J. Cole to debut 6 songs in the Top 20. And the thing about that is that the audience attention towards those songs is partially siphoned off by the other 6 songs he released. So I don't think that 7 charting songs would necessarily be impossible. But I wouldn't be holding my breathe either. I do think that Kanye is in a position to do much better than he did with The Life of deleted. I think that Kanye's music is more respected today than it was 2 years ago. Hip-Hop is obviously in a better place than it was 2 years ago. And streaming is obviously more powerful than it was 2 years ago. And obviously, TLOP was very hindered by its bad rollout and the fact that it was attached to Tidal (who did not report numbers during that time, and began reporting numbers shortly before Lemonade).
