Post Malone's 'Beerbongs & Bentleys' Aiming for Streaming Record & No. 1 Debut on Billboard 200 Chart
Post Malone performs onstage during 2018 Coachella Valley Music And Arts Festival Weekend 1 at the Empire Polo Field on April 14, 2018 in Indio, Calif.
Post Malone’s new album Beerbongs & Bentleys is on course to break the record for the biggest streaming week ever for an album and score the biggest week of the year for an album in overall equivalent album units, according to industry forecasters. The set is easily on course for a smashing bow at No. 1 on next week’s Billboard 200 albums chart as well.
Those in the know suggest Beerbongs could tally more than 400 million on-demand audio streams for its tracks in the U.S. in the week ending May 3. That would surpass the current record-holder, Drake’s More Life, when it launched at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart dated April 8, 2017 with 384.8 million clicks for its tracks, according to Nielsen Music.
Beerbongs could start at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart with around 450,000 equivalent album units earned in the week ending May 3. (Most of that sum will be driven by streams, though the set could sell perhaps 175,000 in traditional album sales.) If Beerbongs bows with 450,000 units, that would easily grant the album the largest week of 2018, beating the year’s current-best frame, set with the No. 1 arrival of J. Cole’s KOD (397,000 units on the chart dated May 5) and the biggest week for any album since Taylor Swift’s reputation started atop the tally dated Dec. 2, 2017, with 1.238 million units.
The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week based on multi-metric consumption, which includes traditional album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA). The top 10 of the May 12-dated Billboard 200 chart is scheduled to be revealed on Billboard’s websites on Sunday, May 6.
Beerbongs is Post Malone’s second studio album, released on April 27 via Republic Records. If it launches at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 (dated May 12), it would garner Post Malone his first leader on the tally. His debut studio set, Stoney, peaked at No. 4 in 2017. That album has earned 2.6 million equivalent album units through April 26. Of that sum, 204,000 is in traditional album sales, while the bulk of the remaining units have been generated by streams of the album’s tracks. In total, Stoney has collected 3.1 billion on-demand streams for its tracks.
Beerbongs was preceded by its singles “Psycho,” featuring Ty Dolla $ign, which debuted and peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 in early March, and the No. 1 hit “Rockstar,” featuring 21 Savage, which spent eight weeks atop the list in October and November of 2017.

Gary Will Rae Sremmurd's new album count as one album or three albums for the Billboard 200?

^I think they'll consider it for the chart as one since, although it has 3 discs. You can only buy them as a 'disc set' from iTunes and Amazon.

SoundScan has never counted a 2cd album as two "sales." Only one sale.
The RIAA counts it as two for its certifications.
That's why Shania Twain's double album Up is 11xP - 5.5 million sold.
Billy Joel's Greatest Hits Vol. 1 & 2 is 23xP - 11.5 million sold.
Pink Floyd's The Wall is 23xP - 11.5 million sold.

Interestingly, Sr3mm/Swaecation/Jmxtro is only $12.49 at Amazon and $12.99 at iTunes.

www.billboard.com/articles/columns/chart-beat/8454698/post-malone-beerbongs-and-bentleys-no-1-billboard-200Post Malone's 'Beerbongs & Bentleys' Breaks Streaming Record, Debuts at No. 1 on Billboard 200 Albums Chart5/6/2018 by Keith Caulfield Post Malone’s second album, beerbongs & bentleys, makes a smashing debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart, scoring both the artist’s first No. 1, the year’s biggest debut and a record-breaking streaming week for the set. The effort, released on April 27 via Republic Records, earned 461,000 equivalent album units in the week ending May 3, according to Nielsen Music. Of that sum, 153,000 were in traditional album sales. The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week in the U.S. based on multi-metric consumption, which includes traditional album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA). The new May 12-dated chart (where Post Malone debuts at No. 1) will be posted in full on Billboard's websites on Tuesday, May 8. beerbongs & bentleys was led by the hit singles “Rockstar,” featuring 21 Savage, which spent eight weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, and “Psycho,” featuring Ty Dolla $ign, which has reached No. 2. beerbongs & bentleys’ Debut: By the Numbers: Biggest Streaming Week Ever: Of beerbongs’ overall start of 461,000 units, SEA units comprise 288,000 of that figure. As each SEA unit equals 1,500 on-demand audio streams, beerbongs garnered 431.3 million on-demand audio streams in the U.S. for its tracks during its debut frame. That zooms past the previous record, set by Drake’s More Life, which started at No. 1 with 384.8 million on the chart dated April 8, 2017 (tracking week ending March 23, 2017). Biggest Overall Week of 2018: beerbongs bows with 461,000 equivalent album units earned -- easily the biggest week of 2018 for any album. It surpasses the year’s previous high-water mark, set only a week ago, when J. Cole’s KOD launched with 397,000 units in the week ending April 26. Post Malone snares the largest week for an album since Taylor Swift’s reputation bowed at No. 1 with 1.238 million units earned in the week ending Nov. 16, 2017. Two Albums in the Top 10 at the Same Time: beerbongs & bentleys follows Post Malone’s debut album, Stoney, which was released in 2016 and peaked at No. 4 on the chart. The album contains a trio of top 20-charting hit songs on the Billboard Hot 100: “White Iverson” (peaking at No. 14), “Congratulations,” featuring Quavo (No. 8) and “I Fall Apart” (No. 16). The set has never left the top 25 of the weekly tally in its 73 continuous weeks on the list. On the new chart, the album rises 11-9 with 32,000 units (up 12 percent), giving Post Malone a pair of titles in the top 10. He’s the first act with two albums concurrently in the top 10 since Linkin Park on the Aug. 12, 2017-dated list (with One More Light and Hybrid Theory), following the death of the band’s singer Chester Bennington. He's the first soloist to double up in the region since Future (with FUTURE and HNDRXX on April 1, 2017). At No. 2 on the new Billboard 200, Keith Urban collects his seventh top 10 effort, as Graffiti U launches with 145,000 units, of which 137,000 were in traditional album sales. The new set follows 2016’s Ripcord, which debuted and peaked at No. 4 with 106,000 in its first week (93,000 in album sales). Before Ripcord, Urban previously logged top 10s with Fuse (No. 1 in 2013), Get Closer (No. 7, 2010), Defying Gravity (No. 1, 2009), Love, Pain & The Whole Crazy Thing (No. 3, 2006) and Be Here (No. 3, 2004). Both Urban and Post Malone’s sales starts benefit from concert ticket/album sale redemption offers with their latest tours. Urban's trek begins on June 15, while Post Malone's tour launched on April 26. J. Cole’s KOD slides 1-3 in its second week on the list, tallying 105,000 units (down 73 percent). Cardi B’s former No. 1, Invasion of Privacy, dips 2-4 with 71,000 units (down 22 percent). The soundtrack to The Greatest Showman, another previous chart-topper, descends 4-5 with 58,000 units (down 15 percent). Janelle Monáe clocks the third-biggest debut of the week, and her second top 10 effort, as Dirty Computer starts up at No. 6 with 54,000 units earned (of which 41,000 were in traditional album sales). The set is Monáe’s first album since 2013’s The Electric Lady, which debuted and peaked at No. 3 with 47,000 copies sold (before the chart transitioned to a consumption units-based methodology in late 2014). Rapper YoungBoy Never Broke Again arrives at No. 7 with his debut full-length studio album, Until Death Call My Name, earning 43,000 units. Traditional album sales comprise just 8,000 of that sum, with SEA units (34,000) overwhelmingly powering the set’s first week. He previously hit the chart with the mixtapes Ain’t Too Long (No. 173) and AI Youngboy (No. 24). The troubled artist (real name: Kentrell Gaulden) -- who was arrested in February on charges of kidnapping and aggravated assault, but released on bail in March -- made his Billboard chart debut just under a year ago. His first ink on Billboard’s lists came with the track “Untouchable,” which arrived on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart dated June 24, 2017, and eventually peaked at No. 39 on Sept. 2. The track became his first of six top 40 hits on the chart through the most recently published list dated May 5. He last hit the region with the new album’s “Diamond Teeth Samurai.” Rock band Godsmack notches its seventh Billboard 200 top 10 with When Legends Rise, as the album bows at No. 8 with 40,000 units (36,000 in traditional album sales). The set, released via BMG, is the group’s first independently-distributed album following a chart career with Republic Records. The act previously scored top 10s with 100HP (No. 3, 2014),The Oracle (No. 1, 2010), IV (No. 1, 2006), EP The Other Side (No. 5, 2004), Faceless (No. 1, 2003) and Awake (No. 5, 2000). Post Malone’s aforementioned Stoney climbs 11-9 Jason Aldean’s former No. 1, Rearview Town, falls 5-10 in its third week (32,000 units; down 17 percent).

Where's that person who says Post Malone didn't have ticket bundle?
BTW, Jason Aldean staying in top 10 for 3rd consecutive week, but since when? (a country album staying in top 10 for 3 weeks or above)

The Greatest Showman's pure sales is now around 930K+. I know streaming is now more important but that actually makes me more impressed when albums are still able to command big sales despite the sales climate

Post Malone Rules Billboard Artist 100 for First Time, Powered By 'Beerbongs & Bentleys'
News
By Xander Zellner | May 09, 2018 11:28 AM EDT
He becomes the seventh solo rapper to hit No. 1 in 2018, the most in a single year.
Post Malone jumps from No. 9 to No. 1 on the Billboard Artist 100 chart (dated May 12) to become the top musical act in the U.S. for the first time, fueled by the arrival of his sophomore LP, beerbongs & bentleys.
The Artist 100, which launched in July 2014, measures artist activity across key metrics of music consumption, blending album and track sales, radio airplay, streaming and social media fan interaction to provide a weekly multi-dimensional ranking of artist popularity.
Beerbongs debuts at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with 461,000 equivalent album units in the week ending May 3, according to Nielsen Music, earning the biggest streaming week ever for an album. Malone concurrently charts all 18 songs from the set on the Billboard Hot 100, including a record nine simultaneously in the top 20.
The rapper/singer previously peaked at No. 3 on the Artist 100 in December 2017, after he notched his first Hot 100 No. 1, "Rockstar," featuring 21 Savage.
As hip-hop hits new heights, Malone is the seventh solo rapper to hit No. 1 on the Artist 100 in 2018, joining (in chronological order) Eminem, Drake, Logic, XXXTENTACION, Cardi B and J. Cole. Only four solo rappers hit No. 1 in each of 2017, 2016 and 2015.
Solo Rappers at No. 1 on Artist 100 Year-by-Year
2018 (seven) Eminem Drake Logic XXXTENTACION Cardi B J. Cole Post Malone
2017 (four) Future Drake Kendrick Lamar JAY-Z
2016 (four) Kendrick Lamar Drake Frank Ocean J. Cole
2015 (four) Drake Kendrick Lamar Meek Mill Future
Directly below Malone on the Artist 100, Keith Urban vaults 78-2 as his Graffiti U debuts at No. 1 on Top Country Albums and No. 2 on the Billboard 200 (145,000 units). He previously peaked at No. 8 on the Artist 100 in May 2016.
Rounding out the Artist 100's top five, Drake dips 2-3; J. Cole falls 1-4 (following his second total week on top); and Cardi B drops 3-5.
Elsewhere on the Artist 100, Janelle Monae re-enters at No. 10, a new peak, as her new album, Dirty Computer, arrives at No. 1 on Top R&B Albums and No. 6 on the Billboard 200 (54,000 units). She previously spent a week on the Artist 100, in March, at No. 95.

ABBA Music Sales Up 57% After Reunion News, 'Gold' Hits Album Returns to Billboard 200 Chart News By Keith Caulfield | May 09, 2018 9:43 PM EDT
Streams of ABBA's songs gained by 36 percent, led by "Dancing Queen."
Streams and sales of ABBA’s music in the U.S. rose in the wake of the group’s announcement on April 27 that the quartet had reunited to record new music for the first time in 35 years.
In the week ending May 3, ABBA’s songs garnered a 36 percent gain in on-demand streams (audio and video combined) according to Nielsen Music. Collectively, their tunes notched 6.38 million streams, up from 4.69 million a week earlier. ABBA’s most-streamed song in the week ending May 3 was their 1977 No. 1 Billboard Hot 100 hit, “Dancing Queen,” with 1.42 million streams (up 19 percent).
Combined sales of the group’s catalog of albums and songs jumped by 57 percent to 11,000 (up from 7,000 the week previous), while the act’s overall equivalent album units tally spiked by 39 percent to 8,000 units (up from 6,000).
The bulk of those 8,000 units were earned by their successful 1993 best-of compilation, Gold — Greatest Hits, which tallied 5,000 units (up 192 percent) and re-enters the Billboard 200 chart dated May 12 at No. 193. It’s the first time the album has been on the chart in nearly a year (it was last on the tally dated June 3, 2017). Gold, which peaked at No. 36 in 2013, has spent 134 nonconsecutive weeks on the list and has sold 5.8 million copies.
The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week based on multi-metric consumption, which includes traditional album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA).
ABBA also debuts on the Social 50 chart at No. 35, thanks to a surge in interest of the group on social networks -- especially on YouTube and from visits to the group’s Wikipedia page. The Social 50 is powered by data tracked by music analytics company Next Big Sound and ranks the most popular artists on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Wikipedia and Tumblr. The chart's methodology blends weekly additions of friends/fans/followers along with artist page views and engagement.

Janelle Monae's 'Dirty Computer' Debuts at No. 1 on Top R&B Albums Chart
News
By Trevor Anderson | May 11, 2018 11:42 AM EDT
Janelle Monae earns her first No. 1 set on the Top R&B Albums chart (dated May 12) as Dirty Computer opens at the summit. The album earned 54,000 equivalent album units in the week ending May 3, according to Nielsen Music.
The Computer debut is helped by multiple hits from the album on the Hot R&B Songs chart. “Make Me Feel” reached No. 9 in March and was quickly followed by the Grimes-featured “Pynk” (No. 21) in March and “I Like That” (No. 24) in May.
Pre-Computer, Monae’s previous best on Top R&B Albums was a No. 2 peak for The Electric Lady in 2013, one year after the Top R&B Albums chart began. Prior to the chart’s inception, Monae also reached the top 20 of the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart with two projects, Metropolis: The Chase Suite (No. 20, 2008) and The Archandroid: Suites II and III (No. 4, 2010).
CARDI’s ‘CAREFUL’ CLIMBS: Plus, Cardi B’s “Be Careful” leaps into the top 10 of the R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart with a 14-10 hike. The song vaults with a 23 percent spike to 15 million in radio audience in the week ending May 6, according to Nielsen Music.
“Careful” marks Cardi B’s sixth top 10 on the chart. She first touched the tier with the smash hit “Bodak Yellow (Money Moves),” which reigned for 10 weeks last year and quickly returned to the summit, this time as a featured act, on G-Eazy’s “No Limit,” a six-week leader in December – January. Since, she’s claimed top 10 successes with “Motorsport,” a collaboration with Migos and Nicki Minaj (No. 3), “Bartier Cardi,” featuring 21 Savage (No. 3) and “Finesse,” a teamup with Bruno Mars (No. 2).
PEABO MAKES A RETURN: Plus, Peabo Bryson returns to the R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart for the first time in nearly 25 years as “Love Like Yours and Mine” debuts at No. 49. Bryson last appeared on the list in 1993 with his collaboration with Kenny G, “By The Time This Night Is Over,” which reached No. 68 that June. His only other chart entry to date is his duet with Regina Belle, “A Whole New World,” the radio promoted version of the Aladdin tune, which reached No. 58 in January 1993. The Belle-Bryson version also topped the Billboard Hot 100 that March.

Billboard 200 Chart Moves: Anne-Marie Debuts in Top 40 With 'Speak Your Mind' as 'Friends' Hits Top 10 on Pop Songs News By Keith Caulfield | May 11, 2018 5:57 PM EDT
Plus: Kanye West's "The Life of deleted" hits its highest rank in over a year & Ella Mai debuts with "Ready."
On the latest Billboard 200 albums chart (dated May 12), Post Malone debuted at No. 1 with 2018’s biggest week -- and the largest streaming week ever for an album -- as beerbongs & bentleys launched atop the list. The set earned 461,000 equivalent album units in the week ending May 3, according to Nielsen Music.
The Billboard 200 chart ranks the week’s most popular albums based on their overall consumption. That overall unit figure combines pure album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA). Now, let’s take a closer look at some of the action on the rest of the Billboard 200:
— Anne-Marie, Speak Your Mind – No. 31 — The pop singer/songwriter’s debut album, Speak Your Mind, arrives at No. 31 with 14,000 units earned. The bulk of that sum was driven by on-demand audio streams of the set’s tracks (9,000 SEA units), thanks in large part to the album’s smash single “Friends,” with Marshmello. The track concurrently hits the top 10 on the Pop Songs airplay chart, climbing 11-10.
— Grateful Dead, Dave’s Picks, V. 26: Albuquerque Civic Auditorium, Albuquerque NM 11/17/71 – No. 26 — The band collects its 37th top 40-charting album as its latest archival set, Dave’s Picks, V. 26, starts at No. 26. The live effort — which was only available as a 3-CD set — debuts with 16,000 units, derived entirely from traditional album sales. On the Top Album Sales chart, which ranks the best-selling albums of the week, the effort bows at No. 9.
— Kanye West, The Life of deleted – No. 68 — Following the release of new music from Kanye West — as well as his much talked-about return to Twitter — his most recent album, The Life of deleted, jumps to No. 68 – its highest rank in over a year. The 2016 release, which debuted at No. 1, vaults from No. 91 to No. 68 with 8,000 units (up 8 percent). Nearly all of its units are driven by streams, as the set is no longer available to purchase as a whole (though a couple of its songs are available to buy individually).
— Ella Mai, Ready (EP) – No. 87— Ella Mai has a big week on the charts, as her debut EP Ready launches at No. 87 on the Billboard 200 and No. 12 on Top R&B Albums, while its single ‘Boo’d Up” hits the top 40 of the Billboard Hot 100 (climbing 55-37). Ready starts with 7,000 units (mostly from streams of the album’s tracks, as it garnered 5,000 SEA units).
— Soundtrack, Avengers: Infinity War – No. 92 — The score soundtrack album to the blockbuster Marvel film jumps onto the chart with 7,000 units — mostly from traditional album sales (4,000 sold). On the Soundtracks chart, the set begins at No. 5.
— Soundtrack, Jesus Christ Superstar: Live in Concert – No. 129 — NBC TV’s live presentation of Jesus Christ Superstar vaults back onto the tally at No. 129, thanks to the set’s CD release on April 27. It tallied 6,000 units, with nearly all of that sum powered by traditional album sales. The album peaked at No. 46 on the April 21-dated tally.
