#45. "I Will Be"
“I Will Be” is one of three songs that Florence contributed to the 2016 video game Final Fantasy XV. Though not an official release, the song managed to peak at #44 on the US Rock chart following the release of the Songs from Final Fantasy XV EP on August 12, 2016. One of the few songs to really focus on The Machine more so than Florence as it is primarily an instrumental track. It does feature two lines of vocals by Florence that repeat quietly throughout the song.
This one never really put up much of a fight. The #7 ranking it received couldn't quite put a dent in all the damage that had been done throughout. I really appreciate it as an instrumental piece though and was glad to be able to include it in this list.

Up next, the first album to take a hit is the debut album.
The song at #44 comes to us from Lungs, and with 15 other songs to rank from that album, the competition was tight. This song has no top 10 rankings but it doesn't have any last place rankings either. Several people do lose a bottom 5. #44. "Addicted to Love"
In 2009, Florence and the Machine recorded a cover version of Robert Palmer’s 1986 hit “Addicted to Love” as a B-side to the re-release of the "You've Got the Love" single, which itself is a cover. In the United States, this track was released exclusively as a digital single. As a result, "Addicted to Love" did not enter the Hot Rock Songs chart but peaked at number 23 on the Rock Digital Songs chart. This song managed to make it into the top 30 at one point but it was an uphill battle early. A battle that was clearly not won. Not the best result for us Pale ShelterTotal Points: 237 Standard Deviation: 9.66 Average Ranking: 35.14 Rankings:

The song at #43 is also another cover song. Someone is losing a top 10 ranking while someone else loses their #45. Songs per Album: Lungs: 15/16 Ceremonials: 10/10 How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful: 9/9 High As Hope: 2/2 Stand Alone/Soundtrack Singles: 7/8

#43. "Tiny Dancer"
Florence and the Machine covered the Elton John classic, “Tiny Dancer”, on the 2018 tribute album Revamp: Reimagining the Songs of Elton John & Bernie Taupin. The song was released on April 6, 2018 and peaked at #36 on the US Rock chart. The cover received praise from Elton John himself and reportedly allowed writer Bernie Taupin to enjoy the song anew. This one was in or around the bottom 5 pretty much the entire time. Though I really enjoy it as a cover, their original material is too strong to rank this any higher. Up next is another Stand Alone/Soundtrack song.
The song at #42 is among the songs with the higher standard deviations but not quite the highest. Several top 10s are lost, including a #2. And yet, 3 people also lose their #45. #42. "Over the Love"
“Over the Love” was recorded for the soundtrack album to the 2013 film The Great Gatsby. While the song was available to stream on SoundCloud in the weeks leading up to the soundtrack’s release, it was released as the first promotional single from the album on April 17, 2013. This song was all over the place, as evidenced by the higher standard deviation. It managed to spend some time in the top 30 but it took a pummeling near the end which secured it a spot in the bottom 5. Az Paynter won't be happy. Closing out today's set of reveals is another song off Lungs.
The song at #41 saw no top 10 rankings though one person loses their #13 - this song's highest ranking. No #2 losses or anything crazy like that but three more people will be glad to see their #45 go. #41. "Hardest of Hearts"
“Hardest of Hearts” was recorded during the Lungs album sessions but ultimately did not make the cut for the album. It was released nearly two years after the 2009 release of Lungs as a track on Lungs – The B-sides in 2011. The album was composed of songs which either did not make the album or were recorded after the album’s release such as remixes or live recordings. It also included the aforementioned “Addicted to Love” plus several songs still to come.
This one was never higher than number #35 as it was pretty consistently ranked in the bottom half.

Florence is very consistent, which makes putting together a ranked list very difficult...there are really only about a dozen of her songs that i think are above & beyond the rest & as long as those don't leave before the Top20, then i'm good

I don't like the song Addicted To Love, and that kind of includes the cover. I guess it's just the song.
Florence killed Tiny Dancer. Shame.

I'll be *somewhat* satisfied if my favorite song from their makes the Top 20.
I'll be hella disappointed if the remix to 'Spectrum' ranks hella high.

I Will Be is at least decent, but she has quite a lot of songs better than this. Doesn't deserve the last place though. Both covers (Addicted to Love/Tiny Dancer) are not very interesting. They can leave early. Over the Love has some torn feelings that I love, but I guess Florence's vocal can be too sharp for some of you. Hardest of Hearts is poorer version of Howl to me.

So, I'm slammed at work and cannot go through with the original plan. But let's go ahead and reveal #40-36 to start.
Coming up in this set, we'll see the first song from How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful depart, the song with the highest standard deviation, and also another soundtrack song.
One of those is up first at #40 and it means someone is losing their #6 ranked song.

#40. "You Got the Dirtee Love" (with Dizzee Rascal)
At the 2010 BRIT Awards on February 16, 2010, Florence and the Machine and Dizzee Rascal performed a mashup of "You Got the Love" and Dizzee's song "Dirtee Cash", entitled "You Got the Dirtee Love". It is featured on the Dirtee Deluxe Edition of Dizzee Rascal's Tongue n' Cheek album; the track charted in Ireland and Australia following the album's release. It also appears on the Between Two Lungs reissue of Florence and the Machine's album Lungs. The single was released on February 17, 2010 exclusively to iTunes. On February 21, 2010, the single entered the UK Singles Chart at number two, where it ultimately peaked. The song charted in Australia, Ireland and on the European Hot 100 Singles chart. The song with the highest standard deviation - it was consistently in the bottom 5 and more often than not in last place but aerodynamite managed to bumped it up to #36 and it ultimately landed just outside the bottom 5. Up next is another song from the Lungs era.
The song at #39 has a handful of top 20 rankings but mostly mid to lower rankings though not quite as low as a #45. Good news is that no one loses a top 10. Songs per Album: Lungs: 13/16 Ceremonials: 10/10 How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful: 9/9 High As Hope: 2/2 Stand Alone/Soundtrack Singles: 5/8

#39. "Falling"
“Falling” is album track that was featured on Lungs – The B-Sides which was released on February 27, 2011 exclusively in the United States to digital music retailers such as the iTunes Store and Amazon MP3. This was followed by the release of a deluxe edition of Lungs in the US on April 26, 2011, featuring all eleven tracks from Lungs – The B-Sides on a bonus disc to accompany the original 13-track album.
This song is lyrically powerful and yet, it falls short in the rankings, which is only a testament to the strength of the material to come. Receiving mostly bottom 20 rankings, this one was always hovering around the bottom 10 and didn’t move much, as evidenced by the relatively low SD.
