After Post Malone’s beerbongs & bentleys debuted atop the Billboard 200 chart with the year’s biggest week, the album is set for a second stanza at No. 1, according to industry forecasters. Those in the know suggest beerbongs could ring the gong again next week with perhaps over 170,000 equivalent album units earned in the week ending May 10. The effort started at No. 1 with 461,000 units tallied in the frame ending May 3, according to Nielsen Music.

If beerbongs spends a second week atop the list, it will mark the third title to rack up multiple weeks at No. 1 in 2018 — and the first by an artist — following Black Panther: The Album (with three weeks at No. 1) and The Greatest Showman soundtrack (two weeks in the top slot).

The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week based on multi-metric consumption, which includes traditional album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA). The top 10 of the May 19-dated Billboard 200 chart (where beerbongs should hold at No. 1) is scheduled to be revealed on Billboard’s websites on Sunday, May 13.

On tap for top 10 debuts on next week’s chart: Leon Bridges’ Good Thing, Shinedown’s ATTENTION ATTENTION and Rae Sremmurd’s SR3MM. The three albums could each bow with maybe 55,000 to 60,000 units. The three acts are on course for their second, fourth and third top 10 efforts, respectively.

Also on track to make a splash on next week’s chart: Childish Gambino. Following the May 5 release of his buzzy new song and video for “This Is America,” there has been renewed interest in his previous albums. His last studio set, 2016’s “Awaken, My Love!,” could re-enter the chart straight into the top 100, while his earlier release, 2013’s Because the Internet, will like jump back onto the tally as well.

Following the release of Childish Gambino’s buzzy new song and video for “This Is America” on May 5, the artist’s last two full-length albums are aiming to re-enter next week’s Billboard 200 chart.
His previous effort, 2016’s “Awaken, My Love!,” could re-enter the Billboard 200 (dated May 19) within the top 100 with perhaps 5,000 to 7,000 equivalent album units earned in the week ending May 10, according to industry forecasters. In the week ending May 3, the set tallied just under 5,000 units, according to Nielsen Music.

Meanwhile, Childish Gambino’s 2013 effort, Because the Internet, may earn between 4,000 to 6,000 units -- up from a little under 4,000 earned in the week previous.

Post Malone’s beerbongs & bentleys lands a second straight week at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart, as the set earned 193,000 equivalent album units in the week ending May 10 (down 58 percent from its debut frame), according to Nielsen Music.

Malone is joined by four debuts in the top 10, as new efforts from Leon Bridges, Shinedown, Rae Sremmurd and Lake Street Dive all bow in the region.

The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week in the U.S. based on multi-metric consumption, which includes traditional album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA). The new May 19-dated chart (where Malone holds at No. 1) will be posted in full on Billboard's websites on Tuesday, May 15.

Beerbongs is just the third title to rack up multiple weeks at No. 1 in 2018, and the first by an artist, following Black Panther: The Album (with three weeks at No. 1) and The Greatest Showman soundtrack (two weeks in the top slot). Beerbongs is also the first album by an artist to notch back-to-back weeks at No. 1 since Taylor Swift’s reputation spent its first three weeks atop the tally (Dec. 2-16, 2017). (Reputation clocked one further week at No. 1, on the Jan. 6, 2018 chart.)

Beerbongs’ second week on the list is powered by streaming activity, as it garnered 160,000 SEA units (down 44 percent). In terms of traditional album sales, it sold 24,000 copies (down 85 percent), while TEA units equaled just 9,000 (down 59 percent).

At No. 2 on the Billboard 200, J. Cole’s former No. 1 KOD rises one rung with 68,000 units (down 35 percent).

Singer-songwriter Bridges debuts at No. 3 with his second album, Good Thing. The title earned 66,000 units, with the bulk of that figure driven by traditional album sales (59,000). Both sums represent high-water marks for the artist. Good Thing is the top-selling album of the week as well, and launches at No. 1 on the Top Album Sales chart.

Good Thing lands Bridges his highest-charting effort, as his debut set Coming Home debuted and peaked at No. 6 in 2015, off a start of 42,000 units (38,000 in sales). Bridges’ sales launch, and the debuts of Shinedown and Lake Street Dive (more on them later), benefit greatly from concert ticket/album sale redemption offers with their latest tours.

Cardi B’s previous chart-topper, Invasion of Privacy, holds at No. 4 with 62,000 units (down 13 percent).

Rock band Shinedown scores its fourth top 10, as ATTENTION ATTENTION bows at No. 5 with 60,000 units (55,000 in traditional album sales). It’s the group’s fourth consecutive studio album to bow in the top 10, following Threat to Survival (No. 6 in 2015), Amaryllis (No. 4, 2012), and The Sound of Madness (No. 8, 2008). The group made its Billboard 200 debut nearly 15 years ago, when Leave a Whisper arrived on the Aug. 2, 3003-dated list at No. 159, on its way to a No. 53 peak in August of 2004.

The new album was led by the single “Devil,” which holds at its peak of No. 2 on the most recently-published Mainstream Rock Songs chart (dated May 12). The band holds a record 23 top five hits on the list, which is the entirety of the act’s charting efforts. Among those 23 entries are 11 No. 1s.

Rae Sremmurd’s three-part album, SR3MM, starts at No. 6 on the Billboard 200 with 57,000 units, giving the hip-hop duo (Swae Lee and Slim Jxmmi) its third straight top 10. The 27-song set comprises three parts: SR3MM (Rae Sremmurd’s third studio set; the first nine songs of the project), Swaecation (the second nine songs, credited as a solo project from Swae Lee) and Jxmtro (the final nine songs, a solo offering from Slim Jxmmi).

The resilient soundtrack to The Greatest Showman spends a 20th consecutive week in the top 10, as the album shifts 5-7 in its 22nd week on the tally (52,000 units; down 10 percent). The album debuted at No. 71 on the Dec. 30, 2017-dated list, jumped to No. 63 the next week, and then vaulted to No. 5 the following frame and has been in the top 10 ever since. The album spent two weeks atop the tally (Jan. 13 and 20).

Rock band Lake Street Dive nabs its first Billboard 200 top 10 album and highest-charting effort yet, as its new set Free Yourself Up arrives at No. 8. The album also garners the group its biggest week yet in terms of units and traditional album sales, as it earned 32,000 units (of which 30,000 were in traditional album sales). Previously, the band’s high-water mark on the chart came with 2014’s Bad Self Portraits, which debuted and peaked at No. 18.

Rounding out the Billboard 200’s new top 10 are former No. 1s Black Panther: The Album (moving 13-9 with 30,000 units; up 4 percent)

Migos’ Culture II (climbing 12-10 with 29,000 units; down 5 percent).

While streaming has become a major component on the charts, we keep you up to date on actual full sales numbers for the latest country albums -- lead by the pictured Keith Urban -- here.

With two week sales at nearly 154,000 scanned, Keith Urban's Graffiti U remains at #1 this week, a quiet week on the charts with only three newcomers in our rundown. Jason Aldean's Rearview Town is up to #2 this week and has now held the #1, #2 and #3 positions on this chart. Last week's #2, Willie Nelson's Last Man Standing, sits at #3 this week with sales at over 34,000 for two weeks. Kenny Chesney's Live In No Shoes Nation two album set (which was also his final release via Columbia Records before he moved to Warner Bros. Nashville) has now sold over 431,000 copies. Chris Stapleton's From A Room: Volume 1 sits at #5 with sales of nearly 788,000 copies to date.

Kane Brown's Platinum-certified self-titled album (which features the hits "Heaven" and "What If's") is at #6 with 384,500 pure album sales to date (the Platinum number includes his considerable streaming presence). The Lacs' 8th album, Dirt Rock, sits at #7 and sold 4,500 of their 4,600 copies in its chart debut week. Chris Stapleton's From A Room:Volume 2 and Traveller sit at #8 and #9 with Brothers Osborne's fine sophomore album Port Saint Joe sitting at #10 with sales of nearly 28,000 copies after 3 weeks.

Childish Gambino's Album Sales Rise 419% in Wake of 'This Is America' Release and 'SNL' Performance

Three of his albums re-enter the Billboard 200 chart, led by "Awaken, My Love!"

After a busy week for Donald Glover, and his musical alter-ego Childish Gambino, the latter’s album sales gained a whopping 419 percent in the U.S. in the week ending May 10, according to Nielsen Music. Glover hosted NBC’s Saturday Night Live on May 5 and, during the show, performed his new buzzy single “This Is America" and released its much-discussed music video.

Collectively, Childish Gambino’s catalog of albums sold 11,000 copies -- up from just a little more than 2,000 in the week previous. (None of those albums include the Billboard Hot 100-topping “This Is America,” though it is presumed to be featured on his forthcoming new album.)

On the Billboard 200 chart dated May 19, three of the artist's albums re-enter the chart. His most recent release, “Awaken, My Love!” jumps back on at No. 45 with 12,000 equivalent album units earned (up 156 percent), with traditional album sales comprising 5,000 of that sum (up 268 percent). Because the Internet returns to the list at No. 61 (10,000 units; up 178 percent, with 3,000 in sales; up 681 percent) while Camp comes back on at No. 197 (5,000 units; up 174 percent, with 2,000 in sales; up 497 percent).

In terms of total on-demand streams for the week ending May 10, Childish Gambino's songs collected 102.7 million clicks (in both video and audio streams) -- up 487 percent. That figure includes the 65.3 million collected by “ThIs Is America.” Even without the “America” streams, the rest of his songs still saw a robust 114 percent jump in streams.

Fueled by his first No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart (dated May 19), as "This Is America" launches at the summit, Childish Gambino re-enters the Billboard Artist 100 at No. 3, a new peak.

The Artist 100, which launched in July 2014, measures artist activity across key metrics of music consumption, blending album and track sales, radio airplay, streaming and social media fan interaction to provide a weekly multi-dimensional ranking of artist popularity.

"America" also debuts at No. 1 on Streaming Songs and Digital Song Sales, arriving with 65.3 million U.S. streams and 78,000 downloads sold in the tracking week, according to Nielsen Music. Gambino, the musical pseudonym of Donald Glover, previously peaked at No. 7 on the Artist 100 in December 2016.

Post Malone holds as the top musical act in the U.S., as the rapper-singer spends his second week at No. 1 on the Artist 100. His second LP beerbongs & bentleys leads the Billboard 200 for a second week, making him the first artist to spend multiple weeks at No. 1 on the chart in 2018.

Rounding out the Artist 100's top five, Drake rises 3-2, Imagine Dragons lifts 6-4 and Cardi B holds at No. 5.

Elsewhere on the chart, Leon Bridges re-enters at No. 7, a new peak, as his sophomore LP Good Thing opens at No. 1 on Top R&B Albums and Americana/Folk Albums and No. 3 on the Billboard 200 with 66,000 equivalent album units. It also launches at No. 1 on Top Album Sales (59,000 sold) and Vinyl Albums (9,000). The set's single "Bad Bad News" concurrently takes over atop the Adult Alternative Songs airplay chart.

Billboard 200 Chart Moves: Fleetwood Mac's 'Rumours' Rises, Guns N' Roses' 'Greatest Hits' Returns

On the latest Billboard 200 albums chart (dated May 19), Post Malone logged a second week atop the tally with beerbongs & bentleys, becoming the first artist to score multiple weeks at No. 1 in 2018. The set earned 193,000 equivalent album units in the week ending May 10, according to Nielsen Music.

The Billboard 200 chart ranks the week’s most popular albums based on their overall consumption. That overall unit figure combines pure album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA).
Now, let’s take a closer look at some of the action on the rest of the Billboard 200:

— Soundtrack, The Greatest Showman – No. 7 — The Greatest Showman soundtrack logs a 20th straight week in the top 10 on the Billboard 200 (No. 7), making it just the fourth soundtrack in the past 20 years to string together that many consecutive weeks in the region. It follows Frozen (39 in 2014), High School Musical (24, 2006) and City of Angels (20, 1998).


— Various Artists, Now 66 – No. 20 — Now 66 marks the 81st Now That’s What I Call Music! compilation to reach the top 20 as the new album bows with 21,000 equivalent album units earned (all from traditional album sales).

— Taylor Swift, reputation – No. 23 — The diva’s album nabs a 15 percent increase in units (rising to 19,000) as her reputation stadium tour kicked off May 8 in Glendale, Ariz. The trek is slated to wrap Nov. 21 in Tokyo.

— Fleetwood Mac, Rumours – No. 84 — Fleetwood Mac’s Rumours rises 88-84 -- the title’s highest rank in nearly a year. The former No. 1 earned 8,000 units in the latest tracking week -- up 6 percent. The album last went higher on the chart dated June 3, 2017, placing at No. 56. Rumours is likely picking up steam because of the group being in the news following the April 9 announcement that Lindsey Buckingham would not be joining it on its upcoming tour.

— Guns N’ Roses, Greatest Hits – No. 113 — Guns N’ Roses’ Greatest Hits returns to the chart at No. 113 with a big 105 percent gain in equivalent album units earned. The set -- perhaps encouraged by the May 4 news of the band’s upcoming reissue of its 1987 debut, Appetite for Destruction -- earned 6,000 units in the week ending May 10. That’s the album’s biggest week since the Jan. 6-dated list (No. 135 with 8,000 units).

— Chance the Rapper, Coloring Book – No. 116 — Chance the Rapper’s Coloring Book celebrates its second anniversary on the chart, as the former top 10 album spends its 104th consecutive week on the tally. The streaming-only set shifts 114-116 with 6,000 units (up 3 percent) -- all from SEA units. The set became the first streaming-only top 10 album back when it debuted and peaked at No. 8 on the list dated June 4, 2016. (The album was released on May 13 of that year, and the latest chart’s tracking week ended on May 10, 2018.) Coloring Book has earned 1.2 million equivalent album units -- all from streaming activity. In total, through May 10, the set’s songs have generated 1.85 billion on-demand audio streams.
