Wow, has anyone seen Kane Browns, 'Heaven' lately? It's up to #2 on iTunes, increasing airplay, decent streaming numbers (for actual country music). He's probably heading for number 12 or 13 this week. MTB and Heaven are the two highest country songs to chart on the Hot 100 so far this year. Of course until FGL and Sam Hunt release their new music.

Also, do you think Drake can catch up to post before the year ends? I start the first week that is dated for 2018. So that's technically late 2017. But I don't do the November 2017 - October 2018 thing that Billboard does for their year end list. As for Drake surpassing Post Malone, that's the biggest question for me... I feel like it's 50/50 at this point.

Wait, Sherane - that's JUST Hot 100 points? How is Drake NOT #1 given his massive #1 monopoly… Is Post's relative point total primarily due to chart entry / peaks / weeks vs Drake's 15 weeks at #1? Thanks

Thanks Drake have a best team and manager. The strategy of getting his next no.1 is for sure as he will hint or announce the 3rd single before album drops.

Wait, Sherane - that's JUST Hot 100 points? How is Drake NOT #1 given his massive #1 monopoly… Is Post's relative point total primarily due to chart entry / peaks / weeks vs Drake's 15 weeks at #1? Thanks It's basically due to the fact that Drake's had somewhat of a late start. Also, Post Malone's had like at least 2 songs in the Top 25 for like every week this year. Post Malone: 1886 Rockstar 1379 I Fall Apart 1069 Psycho 410 Candy Paint 172 Better Now 153 Paranoid 149 Rich & Sad 146 Ball For Me 140 Stay 136 Spoil My Night 116 Same Bitches 116 Zack And Codeine 114 Over Now 106 Takin' Shots 93 92 Explorer 67 Otherside 62 Blame It On Me 44 Sugar Wraith 28 Jonestown Drake: 1593 God's Plan 499 Nice For What 158 Diplomatic Immunity So even "God's Plan" (16 weeks) still needs time to catch up to "Rockstar" (21 weeks this year). Plus, there's Post Malone's 16 smaller songs which together add up to 2,052 points. The biggest difference between the inv point system and Billboard's current Year-End system is that a bare bones inv point system treats the difference between #1 and #2 the same as the difference between #99 and #100. Which is not true-to-life. But it's simpler and easier to calculate on an in depth level.

With almost 2 days still left in the chart week, "TIA" is nearing 130 million YT views. It had a bit over 70 million at the end of last chart week, so it looks to have the same number this chart week as last week. Impressive.

Yes Indeed should move up probably on the 6/2 chart, especially if a vertical or music video is released sometime later this week, presumably on Friday. Drake will probably announce other single though, I can imagine on Friday in time for the BBMAs so he might have 5 top 20 songs and 3 or 4 top 10 songs.

Which is a shame because Billboard does, so it makes the data being presented less accurate.

Or Uptown Funk - clearly a Bruno Mars song but he is a "feature"

Boom Sam Hunt, new single. Downtown's Dead, he released at 6am whenever I made my earlier post. Ironic haha There is no standard release day anymore. There never was to begin with. Back when the typical release day was Tuesday, things were dropping on random days all the time too. You just notice it more now. Plus, there isn't any legitimate business reason for anything to release on one set standard day in this day and age.

You just notice it more now. Maybe in the digital age (which makes sense), but not in the 90s. Even in the 00s it was a surprise for something to drop on a different day. Now it's normal and not even something people notice.

I never liked the Tuesday release but I understood why they did it. Now it drives me crazy when an artist I like drops a song in the middle of a tracking week when it could have debuted much higher getting a full week.

NBTS should be hitting number #1 on radio any day now since TM and MTB are still losing points on radio .

Even as recently as 2009 when Mariah Carey released "Obsessed" on a Monday - 24 hours before the standard Tuesday release day (in order to get full 7 day sales chart points) - people here were outraged and ridiculing her 'typical' chart manipulation tactics… so it wasn't THAT common to release on an off-cycle day.

Whatever It Takes coming for #1 I would be happy with anything overtaking "This Is America" at #1. I am really not understanding the appeal for that one, at all. And I actually liked Childish Gambino.

What are the odds that Delicate actually makes top 40?

Has anyone noticed that Imagine Dragons released a new single? It's called Next To Me and it was released back when Whatever It Takes was only at #75. What are they even doing?
