Has anyone noticed that Imagine Dragons released a new single? It's called Next To Me and it was released back when Whatever It Takes was only at #75. What are they even doing? That re-released their album with that song on it that week.

Sangria Wine is going to be the song of the summer along with a new Drake song. Rihanna will also have one. Kanye will also be big in early June.

I don't calculate features. I find it a lot cleaner to give full credit to the main artist. Oh ok. What do you do if two artists share a lead on a song (Migos, Nicki Minaj, Cardi B for example)? I treat that as a Migos song, which I think is fair. (I think it's kinda weird that they were given "And" instead of Featuring. There are ones like "Good Time", "Jumpman", and "***I'M RACIST***s In Paris" that are closer to being evenly split. Or "Where Are U Now", "Slow Jamz", which have unexpected credits. The only ones that have ever stumped me are "Diana Ross and the Supremes" (Part of the Supremes or part of Diana Ross??) and Hannah Montana vs Miley Cyrus (count them as two, or count them as one?) Actually, I just remembered. Paul McCartney is incredibly confusing. In addition to "Paul McCartney", "Wings" and "Paul McCartney and the Wings", (which they seem to switch off for randomly) there's also "Paul and Linda McCartney" and "Suzy and the Red Stripes".

What I also think is confusing is Rae Sremmurd. With there newest album some of the songs are billed as “Swae Lae, Slim Jxmmi, &Rae Sremmurd” all in one song (song I’m looking at is Guatemala) If it has both Swae and Slim doesn’t that make it Rae Sremmurd??? It would be like Migos having a song and it being billed as “Quavo, Takeoff, and Offset ft. Migos” or something like that

Last post from me today, Fall In Line will be probably debut around #85 or #90 but move up into the Top 50 June 2. Sangria Wine should do fairly well, probably headed for strong airplay/streaming and sales. Sangria Wine NEEDS to be watched as it could be Camila's second #1 in one year, and I think a pair like her and Pharrell can challenge someone like Drake, Post or Kanye as she went #1 on streaming when she released her album, Camila.

Each both have their debut albums included and then their third album is included as well.

She very well could, at least around the world she can, I'm sure if she releases the MV the same day as the song's release she could certainly challenge. She has chart powers, obviously, better than Ariana as she hit #1 on Billboard already unlike Ariana has, yet. NTLTC probably won't hit #1 but could very well move back into the Top 5 especially with the BBMA performance on Sunday. Also BTS will be releasing their new single/video on Sunday night, Korea will of course go nuts, go back home in the US I'm sure a Top 40 performance is expected for "Fake Love".

Now that I'm thinking about it, if NBTS holds up well and Sangria Wine has a strong debut, she could have two top 10s at one time.

^If I understand correctly, the first tracking week for the Hot 100 that's included in the first Summer Songs chart includes Memorial Day, which would end May 31st for streaming and digital sales and June 6th for radio airplay. That means that the corresponding charts will be dated June 9th, 2018.

No lie on my two Urban radio stations it was straight Drake on both stations, back to back, for about 25-30 minutes straight. All four of those songs along with the new one with Lil Baby, and one of them played Controlla while the other played Fake Love.

^I'm starting to think that Never Be the Same won't reach #1 in Radio Songs given that The Middle doesn't seem to have peaked yet and it might have peaked itself. Unless the latter peaks and the former returns to growing, I think #2 could be its peak in Radio Songs. Unless, The Middle peaks and NBTS drops more slowly, overtaking the former on the way down.

Historic Video Views Drive Childish Gambino's 'This Is America' to No. 1 Debut on Streaming Songs Chart
News
By Kevin Rutherford | May 17, 2018 9:53 AM EDT
The song starts with a lofty 68 percent of its streams from video.
As it blasts in at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, Childish Gambino's "This Is America" also debuts atop Billboard's Streaming Songs chart (dated May 19).
The virality of its socially conscious music video, which finds Gambino alternating between spirited dancing and striking gun violence, drives the entrance, as "America" arrives with 65.3 million U.S. streams in the week ending May 10, according to Nielsen Music, with a whopping 68 percent from video views.
"America" claims the 19th-most streams in a week (dating to the inception of Billboard 's first streaming chart in 2012) but boasts the third-largest percentage of streams from video among the 25 biggest streaming weeks. It trails only two weeks in March 2013 by Baauer's "Harlem Shake," which, unlike "America," was not fueled by an official clip, but fan-made videos incorporating the song's official audio, as video accounted for nearly all the streams for "Shake" in those two weeks.
The closest non-"Harlem" competitor for "America"? Taylor Swift's "Look What You Made Me Do," which, in its second week (Sept. 23, 2017), saw 63 percent of its overall streams from video; its first-week mark was 59 percent. Adele's "Hello" follows, with its first week (Nov. 14, 2015) showing 58 percent of its 61.6 million streams via video views.
That said, "America" isn't just a major player on video services. The song also debuts at No. 3 on the On-Demand Streaming Songs chart, which tracks clicks from subscription-based on-demand audio services, as it garnered 21 million streams on those platforms in the tracking week. (Drake's "Nice for What" reigns with 28.2 million on-demand audio streams, followed by Post Malone's "Better Now," with 22.1 million.)
As with his No. 1 debut on the Hot 100, Childish Gambino's start on Streaming Songs marks his first No. 1 on the latter ranking. Unlike on the Hot 100, however, "America" is not his first top 10. "Redbone," from his 2016 album Awaken, My Love!, hit No. 10 on Streaming Songs in July 2017.

With almost 2 days still left in the chart week, "TIA" is nearing 130 million YT views. It had a bit over 70 million at the end of last chart week, so it looks to have the same number this chart week as last week. Impressive. “TIA” is now over 136 million views, so it will definitely pass 140 million total by the end of today. I’d think it will pretty much holds its stream total from last chart week.

This is an off topic question but when people look back at this decade, what year is gonna be the quintessential year of the 2010s? For me it's 2016.

Definitely 2012, 2015, or 2016 I agree with 2015 but in my opinion, 2012 is not really the year I would think of extremely 2010s because 2012 still has trends from the late 2000s still lingering such as electropop. Usually the mid-to-late part of the decade is what really represents the decade. 2012 would be part of the early 2010s culture.

… every new decade's identity usually only starts 3 years into that decade. It usually takes that time to shake off the hangover from the previous decade's identity. (e.g.: Rock & Roll, Beatles, Disco, MTV Superstars era, Gangsta/ Grunge, American Idol Youtube era)

I think 2015 was the premier year of the decade in terms of pop culture, different genres all doing well, and music being an event.
- Uptown Funk - Trap Queen - Hotline Bling - 1989 era was finishing - 25 era
Also Weeknd's breakthrough, See You Again following Paul Walker, Bieber's Purpose comeback at the end of the year + Biebs vs. 1D first week,
2015 was the turning/blending point between the Pop-ruled & female-dominated first half of the decade, and the Urban-ruled & male-dominated second half of the decade. We had females still breaking all-time records, males were catching up again, Pop was still holding power though decreasing, and Urban began getting ground again.
Also think 2016 is a decade highlight, because of the extremely heavy amount of top-tier artists that released. There's probably very few years in the music industry where so many top-name artists released like in 2016.
2016 releases: Drake, Rihanna, Beyonce, J. Cole, Weeknd, Bruno, Gaga, Kanye, Ariana, Metallica, Kendrick Lamar, Shawn Mendes. Also Adele's 25 & Bieber's Purpose were Q4 2015 eras that went into 2016, and Twenty One Pilots entire career explosion was 2016.

Sangria Wine is going to be the song of the summer along with a new Drake song. Rihanna will also have one. Kanye will also be big in early June. Kanye West has not had a hit since Clique, so he is surely not about to have one now. The song of the summer is either going to be a new Drake song, This Is America, I Like It or Boo'd Up. Anything else will surely surprise me.
