Kanye West has not had a hit since Clique, so he is surely not about to have one now. The song of the summer is either going to be a new Drake song, This Is America, I Like It or Boo'd Up. Anything else will surely surprise me. I wouldn't count Kanye out too fast. His success in 2016 was pretty multilayered. None of the songs were quite "hits", but "Famous", "Father Stretch My Hands Pt. 1", and "Fade" all succeeded on their own individual merits, rather than being carried solely by the album debut. Which is a good sign. With the help of streaming growth, and hopefully TIDAL, we should be seeing a big boost from the opening week of 2016's TLOP. Plus, his antics only seem to be helping drive attention towards him. As we see "Watch" debut in the Top 20. As well as seeing "Ye vs The People" debut, (unpromoted, made and released in a day, didn't even have vocal mixing done). IDK about a song in the year end Top 100, but I wouldn't guarantee he won't have one. But I am almost certain he will have a bigger first week, assuming nothing bad happens before then. Watch is a Travis Scott song, so I have no idea what that is supposed to prove. If his antics are really supposed to be helping him musically, the two songs he released, especially the one with T.I., would have performed way better. And what are the merits on which those three songs are successess? Not a single one of them made the year end Hot 100, streaming songs or radio songs chart. Kanye West even stated that Yeezus and The Life of deleted commercially disappointed during his Charlamagne interview, so please tell me what what you know that he does not know. The Life of deleted made very little noise outside of his super fans, and Kanye West has even stated that he has struggled with hits since the thing with Taylor Swift. His last solo album to see a ton ten is 808s and Heartbreaks. It is perplexing why anyone believes that Kanye West is somehow about to release some humongous smash song now when he is even aware to the fact that he has not see one in a decade. I am not even going to broach those fake Tidal streams.

Kanye has had 3 top 10s in the last decade so he hasn't been hitless

It is perplexing why anyone believes that Kanye West is somehow about to release some humongous smash song now when he is even aware to the fact that he has not see one in a decade. I am not even going to broach those fake Tidal streams. Kanye and Lil Uzi Vert are the reason for "Watch" debuting high. They are the high lights of that song. Travis Scott has never debuted that high with any other of his songs. Neither has Uzi. "Ye vs The People" is a track with no promotion that was made and then release over the course of about 48 hours. With unfinished vocal mixing. "Lift Yourself" is a literal troll song, yet it did get onto the bubbling under. These songs are doing a lot better than comparable tracks from 2-3 years ago. Like "Piss On Your Grave" or "U Mad". The fact that "Ye vs The People" charted at all is a testament to Kanye's ability to draw attention to his music. This isn't comparable to a song like "God's Plan" or "No Tears Left To Cry". This isn't a promotional single or a debut single from his upcoming album. As for TLOP, for one, it did way way better than Yeezus on the Hot 100. And I believe 2016 was Kanye's biggest year since 2012. It was still nowhere near as successful as any of his previous albums, but it was a step upwards from where he was at with Yeezus and all post-Cruel Summer material. Kanye had the 5th biggest debut power in 2016. Behind Drake, The Weeknd, J. Cole, and Beyonce. Currently, the artists with the 5th biggest debut power in 2018 is Migos (behind Post Malone, J. Cole, Cardi B, and the Weeknd). And the year isn't even half way over. So that should tell you something. Kanye's 9 charting songs in 2016 was a lot more special than it would be in 2018. And unlike J. Cole, Beyonce, Jay-Z, etc. Kanye was able to get "FSMYP1", "Fade", and "Famous" to each have their own individual chart runs, all due to their own promotional campaigns, independent of the album takeover. They had 23, 13, and 14 weeks on the charts, respectively, which is pretty impressive considering just how outside of the mainstream norm that these songs were. In addition, it should also be noted that the rollout to TLOP was awful. And its initial streams on TIDAL were completely uncounted for. The same streaming service that allowed Beyonce to break records a few months later. So assuming there's a much smoother rollout, and similarly accessible material as TLOP, I would definitely imagine Kanye West having a better year in 2018 than he had in 2016. And if he goes for an accessible mainstream sound, I could totally imagine him getting a song in the Top 10. Or in the year end Top 100.

In a move that appears to be a response to Billboard's change in accounting for free streams:
YouTube will roll out its new music streaming service on Tuesday (5/22), promising ease of use, a reimagined mobile app and new desktop player plus thousands of playlists. Like Spotify and Apple Music, it will cost $9.99 a month.
In a blog post, the Google-owned streaming service touted YouTube Music’s personalized home screen that “dynamically adapts to provide recommendations based on people’s listening history, where they are and what they’re doing.” And yes, it knows where you are and what you're doing.
The service will have an ad-supported free tier and will combine the music service with YouTube Red for $11.99 a month, rechristening it as YouTube Premium.
The paid level, called YouTube Music Premium, offers downloads and an ad-free experience and replaces Google Play Music, which will eventually be phased out.
YouTube Music rolls out in the U.S., Australia, New Zealand, Mexico and South Korea on Tuesday and will soon launch in the U.K. Canada, Russia and most of Europe.
No word yet on the cost of the algo-jacking package.

Go BSB! Too bad they never had a Hot 100 #1 hit considering how big they were in the 90s but hey big album sales so there's that
I hope it gets enough points to at least chart lol
Sales are just low now so #1 iTunes does not mean that much unless you have decent Spotify streaming

I swear Youtube must have five different music/video services, it's hard to keep track of each one and what differs from the other. Don't they already have a $9.99 YouTube Music subscription?

^Basically, what's known as Google Play Music will become YouTube Music. Although, the difference is that you get to download music (it's not clear how this will work) to listen offline with the $9.99 and for $2 extra you get the YouTube Red video access. One thing that Google Play Music has that it isn't clear whether YouTube Music will have is that you can upload up to 50,000 songs even on its free tier.

Is there any re-weighting with Radio Songs or is just radio just THAT dead at the moment?
How is The Middle #1 at radio.... with 119 million impressions. (Via Hot 100 Top 10 article)
Wouldn't that be the lowest for a radio #1 since like... 2011?

Maybe a global hit, but not so sure about the US. Havanas peak daily streams on US spotify was 1,184,798 during the album week i think. That's just barely enough make it to the top ten on daily us spotify almost 6 months later.
Sure she'll have radio, but by the time radio catches on we'll be having kanye, rihanna, drake, ariana. Hoping it surprises me anyway. We need more pop mega hits

BTS has all of their 11 songs in the top 30 on iTunes should be an impressive day. Maybe "Fake Love" will be their first top 20 on Billboard, it's currently #3 on iTunes.

OMG. Who the hell is Kris Wu? He has sold nearly 41k copies of Like That on iTunes in the US since its release at 11pm ET last night. It does good on streams, and it may be headed for a Top 10 debut on Billboard on the 6/2 chart.

It's so weird that even with the hype of Sangria Wine being the "song of the summer" it's not in the top 10 on itunes despite having Camila on the song It'll probably be #1 on Sunday but still aside from BTS the top 10 on Itunes isn't all that bad .

I agree, Sangria Wine. Much similiar to Despacito seems like a real grower, by Monday it should be #1 or #2 on iTunes, while taking control on a streaming service like Spotify. I am pretty confident by before Drake's album release and when Rihanna releases her new single, which would ironically be on Drake's release date that Sangria Wine can be #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for a week or two.
