Why does everyone dislike Friends so much? The lyrical concept is pretty grating. Vocals and production are fantastic though. This girl's voice and accent are incredibly warm and attractive. Marshmello's presence can really be felt in the production and I especially love the trap synth towards the end which is pretty rare to hear these days and fits pretty well into the song.

Well, she being 5' 11" would be the reason why... And Elves are generally depicted as very small creatures ? not sure if you got the joke, boo...

Have you never seen Taylor? She very tall. 5'11 is accurate I have. Compare her to other people of similar heights and you'll see why this doesn't work. Hell, in 2013, she said she was 5'10". So unless she's one of the latest growers in human history, she either lied or made a mistake then, is now, or both. I used to say I was 5'9", despite actually being barely 5'7". Why would a girl say that she was taller than she was? Wouldn't it be more likely for her to lie and say she's shorter? Not exactly. Tall height for both men and women is pretty attractive in the entertainment industry. And high heels are a thing... That make women taller. If women really didn't want to be taller, they wouldn't wear those, would they?

Cuz guys usually aren't attracted to girls taller than them.

I'll be very upset if "Friends" ends blocked of top 10 by BTS. I'll be very upset if Whatever It Takes gets blocked from the top 10 by BTS. Hope not. Whatever It Takes needs that Top 10.

Happy about "Friends". That song has really grown on me, now that I've grown out of my own unrequited love. Prior to that, it just bugged me. Anyway, any chance it hits the top 10 next week? Oh right, probably not cos of whatever the hell "I'm Upset" or "Lucid Dreams" are. I understand that sometimes difficult concepts such as "songs" can go over people's heads. It seems to happen to you in particular quite a lot. Thought I'd an an insightful definition to help you understand.

Those pieces I mentioned aren't sung, no matter how much Sting gets sampled or how much auto-tune is involved. Let's not act like hip-hop isn't the musical genre for those that can't sing. Or play an instrument. Or anything other than sell drugs.

Can you give your reasoning as to why you hate anything that has hip-hop involved that you continue to complain about the newest hip-hip song rising up the chart each week? We get it you don't like rap, it would surprise me if you even listened to these songs before you dismiss them. I never said I didn't like rap, I said I didn't like certain crappy songs, it's wrong of you guys to generalize like this. I'm feeling a little bullied of late, not gonna lie. I'm just a BJW = Billboard Justice Warrior, and crap songs making the top 10 is my biggest trigger. You're right about one thing though: I hadn't yet heard those songs by the time I posted that. I have now. I do not stand corrected. It's even worse cos of the damn Sting sample.

Were you the dude in that other thread who said that children were being taught in school that white people are evil? Also, you really got a good point with rap songs not being sung. I guess instrumental songs and rap songs don't fit the definition of song.

I guess instrumental songs and rap songs don't fit the definition of song. I am not. Honestly. Can't say who it was either, I never memorize usernames here. Don't get me started on instrumentals, I hate them so much, cos, again, I like my songs SUNG. Yeah ok the love theme from "Romeo and Juliet" is very pretty. They couldn't have gotten Aretha to sing on it or something? I wish back then orchestra conductors were more like DJs (David Guetta, Calvin Harris, etc.) are today, and would have asked top-selling artists to sing over their pieces. That kinda happened in the 50's and then stopped again.

It kind of is... I mean, have you read Lil Baby's biography over on Wikipedia? "Jones was born on December 3, 1994, in Atlanta, Georgia. When he was 2 years old his father left the family and he was raised by a single mother. He was born into poverty and his mother had to support him and his two sisters. The family lived on food stamps and government assistance. As a child, Jones walked home from school and watched as his family was evicted. He grew up with Young Thug and the members of Quality Control Music. He dropped out of school in the tenth grade to become a full time drug dealer, but this would cost him 2 years in prison, which ultimately inspired him to start rapping." All very sad, don't get me wrong, but also, how cliché do you gotta be?

I'm sorry, guys, I honestly just got engaged in the back-and-forth and got a weird kick out of it.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, I don't even dislike rap music, nothing like that, so many of my favorite songs belong to the hip-hop genre. But I can't wrap my head around why the kind of music that is popular these days is popular. Probably because I never got stupid high and listened to it, Idk. I should try to do that, not even kidding.
As some have pointed out, this happens every generation. I'm old now - at 26 years of age, I am old. I have outgrown the current music scene. That saddens me so, when I'm so passionate about music and the big hits. Having trouble coping with that, it feels like a mid-life crisis of sorts, which is ridiculous in every way, but oh well.
People get passionate and aggressive and nonsensical in their arguments about sports all the time. I personally don't give a rat's ass about sports, music is my sports, so when the teams I root for don't win and the ones I don't like get the cup, I shout at the screen. And get in ludicrous arguments with my barmates, i.e. you guys. Sorry about that, next round is on me.
