These streaming/sales pushes from fans have literally never worked in the US. It would take millions of people participating at just the right time to make any sort of noticeable dent here. Now, in 2018, sales manipulation kind of works, but that's because the sales markets are drying up and it doesn't take much to have an effect there, but being #1 on iTunes these days isn't anything to marvel over anymore. In the US, that's only about 50k these days IF you hold onto the top spot all week. Compare that to streaming where it takes at least 35-40 million streams to even have a shot at being #1 for the week. That's why it's next to impossible for these things to ever do anything in the US and why they never have before. The closest any movement in the industry has ever done to affecting the charts in the US is Record Store Day. Some k-pop fans have also made songs spike on iTunes before, but it's only ever translated to a few thousand sales and has never made any lasting effect worth noting. |

Bolivia's iTunes #1 song probably sells 23 copies or so. |

Currently Taylor is at Radio :#16 iTunes:#18-21(always rising and falling in between) Spotify : something around #100 It seems like if their goal is to get it in the top 20, now is not the right timing. Why not wait a few more weeks, when it is already much closer to the top 20 (assuming it continues to gain organically), and then have a sales party (not streaming, as a much greater impact could be made through sales)? If they could get a few thousand fans to download the song, I could see that extra few thousand sales feasibly making a difference between making the top 20 and not. |

But thanks guys for the replies let's see if delicate would get to top 20 :) I think it still has chances to do so,with or without streaming party I think it will, if it can get top 3 on pop and get top 10 on digital songs chart, that might be enough. Never Be The Same is #2 on overall radio with sales around the #20 position and it's top 10 right now with pretty bad streaming figures. |

Drake just dropped a new single. With how weak the number 1 is right now, this could top the 06/09 chart with only 5 days of tracking. He just needs to make it available on all platforms.
EDIT: It seems lacking from a music perspective. It's all lyrics. I won't doubt it doesn't do as well as his previous singles.

From what I've seen, the reception this track is getting isn't the best, including from fans of his like me. This just isn't single material. I don't see this getting much radio play, or doing well outside of streaming(for a week or two). Imma vent somewhere else now haha. I guess "I'm upset" has now made me upset  |

I expect whether positive or negative reviews given on I'm Upset it will still have a strong debut. Especially once it is released on streaming services in fifteen. Reviews are coming in based on just listens on sales from iTunes and YouTube right now. 5 full days of streaming, I expect decent, but not good first week sales (30-50k) and airplay should be actually horrible for the first week. Expect 30 to 40 million streams. Maybe more. So it should have enough for a top 5 debut, maybe #1. Still way too early to tell. Would help if an MV was released and it would for sure seal a #1 debut. But we all know Drake only blows up after a release. So a week 2 slot to #1 is almost certain.
