Psycho's callout scores on Pop have been improving strongly every week. It's the song with the highest favorite response now. It's the exact opposite of Taylor's song. Plus, Psycho has been going strong for a month now, basically since the album release week when it truly exploded. So it definitely isn't a last-minute shady practice like it was with Taylor song.

Could "Story of Adidon" actually chart? It has 13M views in 4 days on the WSHH YouTube video. At first, I completely dismissed it because it uses the same beat as "Story of OJ", so I assumed it wouldn't be made available commercially. But it could potentially chart on those YouTube views alone. Especially assuming that most of the views come from the US. Only problem is that he released pretty much the worst day of the week to release. First 3 weeks count as one week. 4th-10th week counts as second week. So IDK. God please no. I think I've suffered enough

Three weeks after Spotify announced a new policy regarding hate content and hateful conduct on its service, the company is walking back one of its most controversial provisions. In a blog post published today (June 1), the company said it was moving away from its "hateful conduct" provision, which had led to the service removing the music of R. Kelly, XXXTentacion and Tay-K from its editorial and algorithmic owned and operated playlists. In the blog post, the service acknowledges that it got the rollout of the policy wrong, echoing comments that CEO Daniel Ek made earlier this week at Recode's tech conference. "Spotify recently shared a new policy around hate content and conduct," the post begins. "And while we believe our intentions were good, the language was too vague, we created confusion and concern, and didn't spend enough time getting input from our own team and key partners before sharing new guidelines." Last week, Bloomberg reported that Spotify would be softening their stance and allowing XXXTentacion's music to return to playlists, though it appears that R. Kelly's music is still not on any of Spotify's own playlists. A spokesperson declined to comment on individual artists.
"We created concern that an allegation might affect artists’ chances of landing on a Spotify playlist and negatively impact their future," the post reads. "Some artists even worried that mistakes made in their youth would be used against them. That’s not what Spotify is about."
The policy's hate content provision, under which songs or artists whose music includes hateful content would be removed from the service, will still be in effect. No artists' music, including those three artists who were originally de-playlisted, had been removed from Spotify.
The provision was met with a strong reaction on both sides when it was announced May 10, with many cheering Spotify's decision to take a stand and many others fearing that it opened the service up to questions, suggesting it would be put in the position of being judge and jury, if not quite executioner, on an artist-by-artist basis. Several described the policy as a potentially slippery slope, given that none of the three artists had actually been convicted of some of the crimes for which they were in headlines lately. And still others questioned why the three artists initially targeted were black artists in the hip-hop/R&B genres, when others had faced similar or worse allegations.
"We don’t aim to play judge and jury," the company continues. "We aim to connect artists and fans -- and Spotify playlists are a big part of how we do that. Our playlist editors are deeply rooted in their respective cultures, and their decisions focus on what music will positively resonate with their listeners. That can vary greatly from culture to culture, and playlist to playlist. Across all genres, our role is not to regulate artists. Therefore, we are moving away from implementing a policy around artist conduct."

Last week, Bloomberg reported that Spotify would be softening their stance and allowing XXXTentacion's music to return to playlists, though it appears that R. Part of the reason they did this was because Kendrick threatened to pull his music off of Spotify because of it.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that Sim is wrong about the lack of A$AP songs. No songs have ever peaked as high as "Distorted Records", "Fukk Sleep" or "Tony Tone" on the Spotify Daily charts without hitting the Hot 100. Also, interesting to see Duppy Freestyle will probably chart.

I think both Psycho and rockstar are quite poppy, but Psycho probably more so, idk maybe because it sounds "happier" and is in a major key, while rockstar is minor (I'm not 100% sure about this though as I'm not the best at telling between major vs. minor, so someone better at music theory can correct me about this if I'm wrong). In fact, rockstar makes me feel a lot like I do when I listen to Black Beatles, for some reason I get into this dark mood when listening to these songs. Also, I don't know if it's just me, but Psycho's seemingly sudden and last minute gains, especially in pop, gives off very strong vibes of the last-minute LWYMMD surge to #1. I agree. It isn't totally surprising that "Psycho" is (probably) about to hit #1 on the pop radio next week. It is a very melodic song; more so than "rockstar". Although I would not have expected Post Malone to get a #1 on pop radio. What was the last lead rap song to reach #1 on pop radio? Was it "See You Again"?

I know that longevity is a factor, but it would be unprecedented for those three songs no to chart. Would change the whole way I look at the Spotify daily charts. Tati should also be charting in a few days, I think. But I'd be slightly less shocked if it didn't make it.

I think I've suffered enough I love Drake too, and I was initially critical of the way that Pusha handled the beef. But this likely will go down as an iconic moment in Hip-Hop history. However it plays out. So to have the song also chart, when so many similar songs in the past have not (War Pain, Control, Hit Em Up, Ether, The Takeover) would be a blessing.

Billboard Top 10 from 35, 30, 25, and 20 years ago: June 6, 199801 23 The Boy Is Mine - Brandy & Monica (1st of 13 weeks at #1)02 01 Too Close - Next 03 03 You're Still The One - Shania Twain 04 02 My All - Mariah Carey 05 04 I Get Lonely - Janet Jackson feat. Blackstreet Omg, this top 5 is flawless. Amazing R&B throwbacks (love Shania's song too!)

All these songs had an incredible chart run. Definitely a huge top 3! I think the strongest top 3 was in January 2008 (all 3 made the top 10 on the decade chart): 01 01 Low - Flo Rida 02 02 No One - Alicia Keys 03 03 Apologize - Timbaland f. One Republic
