I'd say this is easily their most solid effort. I really liked their debut album, but
Just Feels Good fell short for me. This new album feels more like the Thompson Square I fell in love with. That said, it's a very unfortunate thing that they don't have a radio promo team to support the new music because songs like "A Love Like This" and "Masterpiece" would be two good shots for them.
I have had a chance to listen to the first five songs that were released at the end of March, and they've been on repeat since. So, my rankings may be a bit more favorable that way. As always, I'm sure my favorites will change over time. For now, here is what I think:
1. "Masterpiece"
2. "A Love Like This"
3. "Let's Do Something Stupid"
4. "Good Day" (This song is just so fun)
5. "Breakers"
6. "Stupid Girls Stupid Boys"
7. "Millionaires"
8. "Up In Smoke"
9. "I Know This Guy"
10. "Make It Rain"
11. "Stuck In My Head"
I know that we won't see singles at mainstream country radio, but I'll list the songs I'd like to see.
1. "A Love Like This"
2. "Masterpiece"
3. "Let's Do Something Stupid"
4. "Millionaires"
I love Thompson Square, and I am so glad they were able to put out another album -- one that sounds true to who they've always been. I wish they could've been one of the bigger acts in country music. But, I'll continue to support their art regardless.
