That MJ song doesn't sample BOW, don't spread fake news.

Emotionless could have been a feature with Mariah since it's sampling the beginning of Carey's numberr one hit from 1991 Emotions- the MTV Unplugged version

Can somebody explain to me what is this new formula with YouTube that will affect the Hot 100? Yeah, can someone please explain this? www.billboard.com/articles/news/8427967/billboard-changes-streaming-weighting-hot-100-billboard-200"Beginning with the first week of Nielsen’s third quarter of 2018 (sales and streaming week of June 29 to July 5, which will be reflected on Billboard charts dated July 14), plays on paid subscription-based services (such as Apple Music and Amazon Music) or on the paid subscription tiers of hybrid paid/ad-supported platforms (such as Spotify and SoundCloud) will be given more weight in chart calculations than plays on ad-supported services (such as YouTube) or on the non-paid tiers of hybrid paid/ad-supported services. Billboard will have multiple weighted tiers of streaming plays for the Hot 100, which take into account paid subscription streams (representing a full point value per play), ad-supported streams (representing a 2/3-point value per play) and programmed streams (representing a 1/2-point value per play). Those values are then applied to the chart’s formula alongside all-genre radio airplay and digital song sales data. Streaming remains the most dominant factor on the chart, followed by radio airplay and digital sales in descending order of significance."

The bottom half of the Hot 100 is gonna be a bloodbath Wait, New Rules, Havana, Heaven are going recurrent next week. Plug Walk, rockstar and Whatever It Takes might go recurrent as well. New Rules, Havana, rockstar, and Whatever It Takes all going recurrent because of Drake :'(

ok this is nOT FAIR. Give Cardi her f**king week at #1 Jesus Christ you already have your #1. f**king 2018 rap music is killing me. Not fair? Since when have the charts EVER been fair? Was it fair that Taylor Swift released LWYMMD and snatched #1 before "Despacito" could get a 17th week at #1? It was business. That's all this is when you come down to it; it's business.

Drake truly outdid himself with Scorpion. It takes a special kind of talent to make an album that's more insufferably dreary and coma-inducing than Views, but he did it.
I think I'll stick to More Life this summer too.

"Fair?" Let's remember what the charts are. An unbiased measure of popularity of ALL corners of the music consumption public. Many times that doesn't like with Pulse favorites. which I guess could be the "not fair" part

I love MJ and all, but hoping for another #1 is a bit of a stretch given how his other much-hyped posthumous releases have faired on the Hot 100.
Now, I realize it's Drake, and we're in a streaming world now, and that anything is possible. I just don't think a lot of kids streaming his new album are focusing on - or care specifically about - the MJ feature to take it to #1. And it would need a monstrous amount of streams, especially to overtake those with radio support.
Of those who've heard it, does anyone feel like it's potential single material? If so, that may be a different story. For now, I'm speaking specifically of its prospects of debuting at #1 this week. I enjoyed the preview clip.

Those other posthumous MJ releases didn't have Drake on them though, and Drake is arguably the most popular music star around today. Who knows if it will go to #1? It's fun to speculate about anyway.

Yes!! Cardi is gaining on Radio it will only be a matter of time before she hits #1 on radio. Hopefully this new streaming rule doesn't hurt her too much . Delicate looks to be going to #1 until Cardi can catches up to Delicate.

Or just hoping for it to debut at #1 during release week?

Haven't heard it yet, but the MJ collaboration might pull enough MJ fans to be the biggest one from the album on it's first week.

I am disappointed that the Paul Anka collabo turned out to be just a writing credit in the end, but oh well.
