If Nice For What goes back to #1 it'll be the first song to top the chart in four separate runs

Lol everyone is so convinced Drake goes #1, I'd laugh if he didn't.

I could see Rihanna hitting #1 near the end of the summer.

^Second that. I wouldn't any problem with his overexposure if the music he recently released wasn't so underwhelming.

I really love "Nice for What" but it's a ray of fun sunshine in Drake's sky of drab mediocrity, so yeah, I'm sooo not hoping for a top 10 record. That being said, I'm confident that whatever random song catches on over the others will be his own "Better Now" - a more fun, catchy bop. Lowbeat hip-hop might be the big thing right now but no one is immune to an infectious pop anthem. So, if we get another summer classic like "One Dance", bring it on.
And motherf*cking Paul Anka. Come on!! Is no one else excited about this? Cue the "Drake is having my baby" jokes... which would feel contemporary given that baby-mama drama he was just involved in.

Am I the only one praying that Scorpion flops and all of Drake's momentum crashes Views was a pretty disappointing album, especially for how hyped up it was, but that did nothing but increase his momentum. Views was bought 852k times in it's first week despite the lukewarm reception from critics, and I have no doubt that if Scorpion doesn't live up to the hype it'll still do amazing commercially. Hell, it already has 2 #1 singles and the album isn't even out yet. I like every song from Scorpion released thus far so I'm excited.

I'd highly prefer if SAD completely fell out of the top ten but hearing it possibly stay at number 1 is.... Slightly disappointing.
Well regardless, in two weeks Drake should control the top 5 and I much prefer that to XXX being number 1

Am I the only one praying that Scorpion flops and all of Drake's momentum crashes If Scorpion turns out to be a bad record, then I won't be sad if Drake flops next time after that. The guy is super overexposed to the point where I'm starting to get sick of him if he is releasing mediocre to bad tracks in recent years. But I do like Nice For What.

In addition to the already announced changes in streaming ratios for the paid and non-paid streams:
6/25/2018 by Billboard Staff
The streaming services’ paid tiers will be included on Billboard Hot 100 & Billboard 200 charts, among others.
Billboard is expanding its stable of streaming contributors to its charts, as subscription streams from both Pandora and iHeartRadio -- provided to and powered by Nielsen Music -- will be included in chart calculations beginning with the rankings dated July 14 (which covers streaming data from June 29 through July 5). That is also the week that Billboard will adjust how it applies on-demand streaming data to its charts, giving greater emphasis to paid streams over ad-supported streams.
Pandora, whose programmed radio streams have been part of the Billboard Hot 100 and other streaming-inclusive songs charts since January 2017, will now have streams for its Premium and Plus subscription tiers contribute to the Hot 100, Billboard 200 albums chart and other streaming-inclusive charts, including various genre rankings.
In addition, iHeartRadio streams from the service’s All Access and Plus subscription tiers will be added to the all-genre Hot 100, Billboard 200 and genre-based song and album charts that employ the same respective methodologies, as well as the all-genre Streaming Songs chart and similar genre-based charts. Plays from the streaming of iHeartRadio’s menu of terrestrial radio stations as well as programmed radio streams are not part of any data being reported to Nielsen or Billboard and will not impact any chart rankings.

If they're planning on doing this, adding more sources for streams to balance the Youtube nerfing, then that must mean that the current hot 100 formula stays the same?

Somebody please explain to me how a solo song by Demi Lovato debuts better than a duet with Christina Aguilera because I just don't get it. It would seem to me like the kind of song that would bring in the Demi fanbase + what little active fanbase Christina might still have. So, are certain Demi fans and the public in general reading Christina's name and just going "ew, older artist, no thanks"? Have we honestly come to that?

Well Sober is a new song and a personal one at that, so there's definitely more interest from her fanbase Fall in Line did OK on sales but well that component has little impact these days if you have poor streaming and streaming leans more to the young

Same reason that some of Demi's solo material debut huge and others fail to ever make the chart. Different circumstances lead to varying amounts of interest around the song. Sober is an extremely personal song for Demi and a song her fanbase would flock to download in a heartbeat. Matter of fact, the only reason it's likely to debut that low on the Hot 100 is because Demi and her team are putting basically zero effort into pushing it.

Has the set list for scorpion been released yet? If not I really hope something featuring Rihanna is on the album, that’s a instant #1 right there.

sounds like this will probably balance out the youtube nerfing a bit

If it had a similar streaming performance today, it would definitely have hit the top 10. But if Rihanna's recent Vogue interview is anything to go by, they haven't been in touch at all while this album has been being made.
