Somebody please explain to me how a solo song by Demi Lovato debuts better than a duet with Christina Aguilera because I just don't get it. It would seem to me like the kind of song that would bring in the Demi fanbase + what little active fanbase Christina might still have. So, are certain Demi fans and the public in general reading Christina's name and just going "ew, older artist, no thanks"? Have we honestly come to that? because maybe they don't like the duet. it's not exactly The boy is mine smash material. Has the set list for scorpion been released yet? If not I really hope something featuring Rihanna is on the album, that’s a instant #1 right there. Do people really expect a Rihanna feature on a 2018 drake album? have you all decided to just not keep tabs on the bad blood between them over the past few years. This has been said many times before, but "I Did Something Bad" would do nothing. The GP isn't up for edgy Taylor, even if the song itself is one of my favorites off "reputation". And "Lucid Dreams" is an alright song, I wouldn't mind if it got to #1 in the coming weeks. Cardi first though, please! Yeah, love Taylor but I did something bad is try hard. She needs to end the era with Call it what you want Or Don't blame and remix it with hozier or whoever the influence of the song comes from Can we talk about how badly "Everything Is Love" is doing? It didn't flop as hard as Simm had expected (only one charting song!). But it isn't doing even half as well as Jay-Z's "4:44" from a year ago. How could Bey and Jay both have powerhouse albums back to back. And then release something as mild and weak as "Everything Is Love"? What happened? Is there an excuse for it somewhere? Was it like... only semi-available on Tidal? It almost feels like this is just more confirmation that their streams from the first two albums were fake. And that they stopped faking because of the scrutiny they were under. If I'm wrong, and there's something I'm missing. Then tell me. But damn. That's a big tumble from their last two albums. it's called media oversaturation and overexposure Sad seeing so many huge artists flop this/llast year People are ready for a new crop of stars You're right. Anything following up 1989 was gonna have a hard time living up to that. But I was expecting better than *this*. I think this may be her worst singles era ever. But I'm not sure. IDK what other songs go where. LWYMMD had a great first few weeks. And then it couldn't spend more than 20 weeks on the Hot 100 and went recurrent. Definitely her post backlash era. She'll need to serve a Faith hill breathe/Shania you're still the one and do a reinvention of subject matter Yeah, Reputation era has basically been literally 100% her core fanbase supporting. The era just wasn't big with the actual public. It's amazing she still managed to have a 3x Platinum album (and is currently the #1 album in the Billboard Year) in her career low though after 6 albums. I always say this, but she really is up there as the most dominant female ever in America success wise. Her career consistency is just unparalleled. Next era she will definitely need to put that new-image back in the closet, write some classics, and rebuild her brand again though. Especially with sales disappearing, and the streaming performance she's had this era. She will truly have her first 'career flop' if she manages to continue to be shunned by the GP next era. Tbh... considering Reputation's tour is going to possibly be the biggest ever tour in North America, idk why she didn't do tour bundles for the album or maybe become the first to do it for a song. People are tired of her talking about her exes but she shins on delicate (reflective) and more relationship building focused songs like Call it what you want and so it goes. Childish songs like This is why we can't have nice things/look what you made me do and try hard I did something bad/End game are a no. She's 30 or approaching 30 and in a serious relationship. She needs to reinvent her image to look more sophisticated and talk about love and happiness and be more aspirational again. Pull a Faith hill Breathe/Shania From this moment on/you're still the one AC country pop/rock vibe and I think she can rebuild but I mean she's still pulling 400M during her "decline" but I'm sure she can get 500M+ next time if she shifts her image and music to more adult sophistication.

There was nothing huge in these two though. Only COMN was a sort of hit They we're talking about album bombs/takeovers. All of the songs off of their albums charted high. That's just because of the industry development and tells nothing about the albums.

Okay, how has Zombie lasted so long on the chart and why is it the only active rock track that crossed over? I get the huge sales after O'Riordan's death but its one of the heavier songs that's big on Active Rock, so if this could spend 15 weeks on the chart so far, how the hell has nothing else crossed over?

I really love "Nice for What" but it's a ray of fun sunshine in Drake's sky of drab mediocrity, so yeah, I'm sooo not hoping for a top 10 record. That being said, I'm confident that whatever random song catches on over the others will be his own "Better Now" - a more fun, catchy bop. Lowbeat hip-hop might be the big thing right now but no one is immune to an infectious pop anthem. So, if we get another summer classic like "One Dance", bring it on. And motherf*cking Paul Anka. Come on!! Is no one else excited about this? Cue the "Drake is having my baby" jokes... which would feel contemporary given that baby-mama drama he was just involved in. Is Drake still planning on releasing the Paul Anka collab? I thought it was going to be released in June? June's almost over. But if he did, what a lovely way for Drake to show how much he loves him. ;)

Delicate overtook No Tears left to cry again I love both songs so much, but it's so funny to see this^^ It's like a head on head race to the top of the overall radio charts, but it seems like I like it and maybe even girls like you would overtake them and block them off,I like all these 4 songs so I have no idea for which one I should run for I'm expecting delicate to get a big jump after the Drake "bomb" maybe it has the chance to sneak a week in the top 10 or top 15 would make me happy too :) What are your thoughts about delicate vs.NTLTC vs.GLY vs. I like it? And do you think she has a chance to get a week in the top 10/15 after Drake's album bomb?

I’m hoping for “I Like It” to reach #1, followed by “Lucid Dreams”. “SAD!” is an appropriate #1 for this week, though it caught me a bit off-guard, as I didn’t expect it to rise in popularity that much (I have not been following the threads these days). Rest In Peace XXXTentacion. :/
Also, is this the first posthumous #1 since Biggie?

I can't stop listening to Taylor lately!? It's like 2012 for me again haha. Yes I think after the Drake bomb Taylor sneaks to the Top 15 or 20 for a a week or two. Would be exciting to see her race for the Top 10, but Drake and other artists with stronger streams/sales then her will obviously have the advantage.

SCORPION IS JUST THREE DAYS AWAY CHAT!
Drake will likely have three collabs on his album: Bad Bunny, Paul Anka and Lil Wayne. These all sound like hits, especially Bad Bunny's collab.

I didn't know he had a collab with Bad Bunny coming up. I'm calling it then, that's the song people are gonna flock towards. Again, hip-hop + latin music = surefire 2018 hit.

As for the Taylor talk, "Getaway Car" would be my choice for fifth single. Less immature, and seems more adequate for the summer somehow. Always been a favorite of mine as well. I adore "Don't Blame Me" and "King of My Heart", but it's hard to picture music videos for those songs, whereas with "Getaway Car" the visuals come more naturally.
Gotta say though, ugh at her single choices. I may like all the songs, but "Look What You Made Me Do", "...Ready for It?", "End Game" and "Delicate" are, in my opinion, very meh. Not to mention "Gorgeous" and "Call It What You Want", the other two songs she released in advance to promote the album, which are some of its most boring tracks. The album itself feels a little subpar, and then she goes and (barely) promotes its worst songs.

Delicate and LWYMMD feel like obvious single picks for me.
End Game made sense for the names attached to it alone. That underperformed because of the song not being that good, but on paper Taylor Swift ft. Ed Sheeran should have been an easy top five hit last year.
RFI should have stayed as a promo single.
Don't Blame Me, Getaway Car and I Did Something Bad feel like potential singles. IDSB probably wouldn't work though, considering audiences didn't love the first three singles that much. She's kind of doomed on the Hot 100 though, with her potential streams not being great. Delicate did alright for a while but radio took too long and it's great audience now is held back by diminished streams (I think it's barely top 200 on Spotify, or it left a few days ago, something like that).

In addition to the already announced changes in streaming ratios for the paid and non-paid streams:
6/25/2018 by Billboard Staff
The streaming services’ paid tiers will be included on Billboard Hot 100 & Billboard 200 charts, among others.
Billboard is expanding its stable of streaming contributors to its charts, as subscription streams from both Pandora and iHeartRadio -- provided to and powered by Nielsen Music -- will be included in chart calculations beginning with the rankings dated July 14 (which covers streaming data from June 29 through July 5). That is also the week that Billboard will adjust how it applies on-demand streaming data to its charts, giving greater emphasis to paid streams over ad-supported streams.
Pandora, whose programmed radio streams have been part of the Billboard Hot 100 and other streaming-inclusive songs charts since January 2017, will now have streams for its Premium and Plus subscription tiers contribute to the Hot 100, Billboard 200 albums chart and other streaming-inclusive charts, including various genre rankings.
In addition, iHeartRadio streams from the service’s All Access and Plus subscription tiers will be added to the all-genre Hot 100, Billboard 200 and genre-based song and album charts that employ the same respective methodologies, as well as the all-genre Streaming Songs chart and similar genre-based charts. Plays from the streaming of iHeartRadio’s menu of terrestrial radio stations as well as programmed radio streams are not part of any data being reported to Nielsen or Billboard and will not impact any chart rankings.
Pandora and iHeart's premium streams will be counted as on-demand premium or programmed premium (if the latter exists)?

Current Pandora top 10:
1. I Like It 2. Nice for What 3. Psycho 4. Lie (NF) 5. No Tears Left to Cry 6. Love Lies (Khalid and Normani) 7. Tequila (Dan + Shay) 8. Mercy (Brett Young) 9. Te Boté Remix 10. IDGAF (Dua Lipa)
A lot more variety than Spotify's top 10. Could be a promising change.

What does Pandora Plus and Pandora Premium do different from the programmed Pandora? I am unfamiliar with Plus and Premium.

Pandora Plus is basically Spotify Premium without the on-demand. You can save stations offline and can save more presets (along with the expected high quality audio and no ads/skip limits), but you can't save individual tracks. Pandora Premium is...basically Spotify Premium, from what I can tell.

Lol Hopefully this leads to more diversity on the charts, based on the top 10 posted earlier. I also hope with YouTube being weighted less, that the charts move faster, as that seems to be the slowest moving streaming service.

Surprised at Moonlight gaining. And the other two XXX songs in the Top 20 barely dropping.
Also surprised at Apeshit only dropping 13 spots.
