"The song features posthumous vocals from Michael Jackson, taken from part of an unreleased but recorded 1983 session between Jackson and Canadian singer-songwriter Paul Anka." Okay that makes sense now. Love Never Felt So Good is from the same sessions, quite clever from MJ estate to put a song from it on Drake album

Regardless of how he gets there - be it through Justin or Drake or however - can we appreciate the fact that Michael Jackson, the undisputed king of pop, has managed to get a top 10 hit in some way or another (solo or not) in every single decade since the 60s, even posthumously? Beyond legendary.
Only fitting that he was born in the same month and year that the Hot 100 started, August 1958.

Top 25 is all Drake. Nonstop debuts with a record breaking 5.7 million streams. Only 3 songs debuted with less than 2 million streams. I'm sticking with 7 top tens. Fixed. Except Sad and Lucid Dreams are 24 and 25

Assuming that Spotify's paid/free percentage is 67%/33% like HDD mentioned last month, that's 50,414 SPS.
New rules: paid streams/1,250 + free streams/3,750

I don't know what the heck is so interesting about Nonstop. The fact that it's a Drake's song...and that's pretty much everything.

Let's use Post Malone's album to see how Drake's Scorpion might perform on Spotify for the entire week: B&B's total streams (according to Spotify Charts): 230,996,348 Day | Streams | % of its total streams (230.9M) | Friday | 47.14M | 20.41 | Saturday | 36.23M | 15.68 | Sunday | 29.25M | 12.66 | Monday | 33.84M | 14.65 | Tuesday | 30.67M | 13.28 | Wednesday | 27.74M | 12.01 | Thursday | 26.09M | 11.30 |
If Scorpion's first day (80,482,708) is 20.41% of its weekly streams: 394,329,780 US Spotify streams.

If any song from Scorpion that should be on top of the Spotify charts, it should be "Don't Matter To Me" not a nothing of a song "Nonstop".

I think it's safe to say there is one song that excelled on Spotify. Nonstop or Emotionless. 5 million US streams first day seems likely from the song that takes off. And since streaming has a bigger impact on the charts, these crazy high debuts for hip hop music seems to continue and only grow higher.

Drake occupies the entire top 25 on Apple Music. If you want another laugh at his dominance this week, his label just updated his single certifications: www.riaa.com/gold-platinum/He is now the top certified RIAA Singles Artist ever. Digital not overall tho correct?

We just need to wait a few days if it holds up or not because it is track #2 and some people listen in order but don't have time or don't like the album enough to finish it.

I don't know what the heck is so interesting about Nonstop. The instrumental/production is hot, but I'd prefer to hear someone singing over it or doing something more interesting. Drake has a very distinct sing-songy, talk-rap vocal delivery, and it tends to be very samey to me. Annoying, even. When it comes to hip hop, I'm usually not into lyrics as much because they're often ego-driven and about "the game" and I couldn't care less about all the pettiness. Just give me the instrumental. This is why I'm all about the in love or heartbroken Drake songs. More relatable to me.

Is it just me, or does it just FEEL like Drake isn't really this popular? I mean, I consider myself a casual fan of his, but something has been feeling off about his dominance over the last 2 or 3 years

I mean, I consider myself a casual fan of his, but something has been feeling off about his dominance over the last 2 or 3 years Hmmm... I mean, I've only really enjoyed 3 of his singles from 2016-2018: One Dance, Too Good and Passionfruit. So a lot of his heavily streamed hip hop singles of late haven't been on my radar, making him feel less of a force to me personally. I never really got into God's Plan or Nice for What beyond hearing them a few times on the radio without changing the station. I have been very aware of his dominance on the charts tho, so it's hard for me to argue that he doesn't feel popular when I objectively know he is.

It all sounds so fraudulent to me. I don't know if it's his Degrassi origins or my preference to his more authentic-sounding softer and/or goofy side.
