What the hell at "I Melt" being out so low!? I knew flops and mug would rank it super low, but cmon. Iconic.

#73. Faith Hill - "You're Still Here"
I was the biggest Faith Hill fanatic back around this time, and even I was bored to tears by this song (or at least the version they sent to radio). I know Cry had very few songs that would have been successful on the radio, but I never understood why they made a "country version" of this song and released it. The original album version was beautiful (still wouldn't have done much at radio) and the "country version" just made it boring. I remember they even went all out with the music video and even made a "making of the video" special, which just seemed strange for such a boring song that was never going to be a huge hit.

Up at #68, we find a female artist that should have been huge.

Boo, I thought for sure that meant Up! was going to be next (it's overdue). Wrinkles is great, one of Diamond Rio's most underrated songs in my mind. The lyrics are kind of cheesy, which I guess is why it wasn't a bigger hit, but that melody is so damn good.

I could recycle that clue haha. I loved "Wrinkles" too. I was hoping it could sneak into the top 50.

#68. Rebecca Lynn Howard - "What A Shame"
Total Points: 1,252 Average: 62.6 Year Released: July, 2003 Radio & Records Peak: #40 Billboard Peak: #43 Rankings:castleoblivion26 - 11 Cody Wants Out... - 15 LBTrocks - 28 gardyfan - 30 austin - 32 toomuchboy - 34 g8erboi - 52 .indulgecountry - 60 collinkottke - 62 zaclord đ - 62 KanenrĂĄ:ke - 70 someguy - 72 kw9461 - 73 bigfan101 - 77 d3vin44 - 77 sabre14 - 77 rgreen0625 - 99 CoJoFan - 100 tim - 107 bboat11 - 112 Following: carriefan15@crapkuki23 "What A Shame" was released in July of 2003 by MCA Nashville on what was supposed to be a lead single for Rebecca Lynn Howard's Laughter & Tears album. It peaked at #40 on R&R in late August. "I Need A Vacation" would be released soon after. She left UMG in 2004 and released two more singles off Arista Nashville in 2005 before leaving major labels all together. She released her album No Rules in 2008 off Saguaro Records. It featured the radio single, "Sing 'Cause I Love To."
Rebecca Lynn Howard charted seven times from 1999 to 2005, including the #10 R&R/#12 Billboard peaking "Forgive" in 2002.
Rebecca Lynn Howard is one of the biggest misses from radio in the 2000's. She was probably my favorite under-the-radar female country artist. She had the great distinctive voice, the songs and the persona to be a star. I liked or loved all her singles but my favorites were "I Need A Vacation", "I Don't Paint Myself Into Corners" and "That's Why I Hate Pontiacs." I'm happy this reached the 60's, even if I don't like it as much as "I Need A Vacation."

"What A Shame" was tied in points with our #67 but because of two top 10 rankings, it got a spot higher...and in a weird twist of fate, #67 has some similarities with "What A Shame"...

#67. Rebecca Lynn Howard - "I Need A Vacation"
Total Points: 1,252 Average: 62.6 Year Released: October, 2003 Radio & Records Peak: #45 Billboard Peak: #49 Rankings:castleoblivion26 - 10 kw9461 - 10 sabre14 - 15 austin - 17 .indulgecountry - 17 LBTrocks - 26 bigfan101 - 30 KanenrĂĄ:ke - 52 toomuchboy - 68 g8erboi - 69 d3vin44 - 74 rgreen0625 - 78 someguy - 83 tim - 87 zaclord đ - 88 booo Cody Wants Out... - 100 CoJoFan - 103 gardyfan - 103 bboat11 - 111 collinkottke - 111 Following: carriefan15@crapkuki23 Rebecca Lynn Howard scores back-to-back reveals at #68 and #67, with the same exact point total...I believe that's a first, at least for my rankdowns.
"I Need A Vacation" was released to radio in late October by MCA Nashville and it peaked at #45 on R&R in late November, although the song continued to chart through January of 2004. It would be Howard's final MCA Nashville single.
WYRK played this one often, since she performed a local show around that time period. I love the feel of this song, the lyrics, the instrumentation, melody and her vocals are amazing. I cannot believe it didn't do better at radio and even more surprised some put this in their 100's...

Mixed feelings about Clay leaving us already; i.e. saddened as I'm a fan of his, but not surprised since this is Pulse after all.
On the other hand, very happy to see Kenny, Keith, Joe, Terri, Shania, Craig, Gary, Brad, B&D, George, and Chris hanging in there.
I suspect that Rushlow, Kid Rock and Sheryl Crow, and Buddy Jewell are about to get nixed soon though.
