I am still lukewarm at the flow of his albums (not that cohesive between tunes), but I like this more than I'm Not The Devil from first listen. 7th Floor is this album's Give All You Can. Also this album is 2nd on itunes all-genre album chart. I hope it can debut at top 10 on Billboard 200 next week (sales of 20~25k).

On first listen, honestly I think the fuller production this time around suits him better than it did on 'I'm Not The Devil.' This feels less bloated too. And I like the other album, but so far it's the unpopular opinion to say 'Lifers' is better.

I've had a few days to spend with this album and I've listened to each song a few times (ok maybe more than just a few lol). I recently saw Cody a few days after the Fourth of July at an amphitheater in between Austin and San Antonio and he sang quite a few songs from the album at the time including "It Must Be Whiskey," "Lifers," "Somewhere Between I Love You and I'm Leavin'," "Holy Water," and "Can't Quit Enough." He also had Paul Cauthen come out on stage and they both sang "Big Last Name" which they co-wrote together. When I went to listen to this album I intentionally made it a point not to compare it to I'm Not the Devil because it would be hard to top a masterpiece such as that one. As with most albums I'm not really sure what I think of it until giving it more than one listen and have to say I think this album is fantastic. I love the production and both the steel guitar and drums are very pronounced throughout each track.
Here is my current rankdown for the album (I enjoy each song so don't think for one second I don't like my bottom three lol!):
1. Head Case 2. Somewhere Between I Love You and I'm Leavin' 3. Lifers 4. Holy Water 5. 7th Floor 6. Must Be the Whiskey 7. Big Last Name (I'm a fan of Paul Cauthen and his quirkiness is on full display here) 8. Colorado 9. Stranger 10. Desert Wind (Great song just not one I'm going to come back around to listen to often) 11. Can't Quit Enough
Oh I also just got my vinyl for this in the other day and have yet to give it a spin but can't wait to hear it!

First week numbers have been updated to 23-26k SPS, 19-22k pure sales. If everything holds up it’s bound to be his first top 20 album
