Elevate by Drake 4,686,139 5. 8 Out Of 10 by Drake 4,170,547 6. I'm Upset by Drake 3,945,109 7. Mob Ties by Drake 3,859,100 8. Talk Up by Drake 3,823,354 9. Can’t Take A Joke by Drake 3,642,782 10. Don’t Matter To Me by Drake 3,466,023 11. God's Plan by Drake 3,386,616 12. Sandra’s Rose by Drake 3,210,108 13. Nice For What by Drake 2,901,725 14. Is There More by Drake 2,807,246 15. In My Feelings by Drake 2,752,535It had moved to #1 by July 9. Shiggy actually posted the video that was the initial 'challenge' on June 30. By July 9 it was trending, and that's when "IMF" had moved to #1. But yes, it would be a hit regardless. Exactly. It would have been a hit regardless.

If Survival weren’t by Drake I doubt it would’ve ever hit the US Spotify Chart but here we are with FEFE at #2 on the chart right now.

About whether In My Feelings was destined to be a hit or not, I wanted to add that I do think its chart performance from day 1 was impressive. I'm not 100% sure, but I THINK on day 2, In My Feelings was one of the the songs that fell the least on both Spotify and Apple Music (leapfropping over other songs), and the same happened each day after that until it got #1. So it was already proving to be getting more popular before the challenge as known about. I think without the challenge it would have still gotten to #1, but not on its 2nd week, and it probably wouldn't have broken Harlem Shake's record. Maybe it would be this week that it would have been about to reach #1 if there was no challenge.

Note: This is updated to as of this week's chart. Billboard might have only updated up to June 2018, as when they did the last update in November 2015 it was only up to October 2015. That would negatively affect Drake/Taylor/Maroon 5's positions by one or two, since they have had hits charting in July-August.

I wish they pushed Dont Matter to Me instead of In My Feelings. IMF is really bad now tbh. Those living in the UK got it lucky, it was still pushed as a radio single there despite the cancellation here in the US.

I'm not so sure at all that Don't Matter To Me has a good chance of becoming a big hit. Jackson is of course a huge legend and carries much clout, but he seems to be strictly a legacy artist who people aren't really interested in hearing newer stuff from, as his catalog sells much better, comparatively, than his posthumous releases, and all of his posthumous singles, and there have been quite a few now, have flopped. The exception to this is maybe Love Never Felt So Good, which had the help of Justin Timberlake who was still pretty big at the time, so maybe being helped by Drake this time will do the trick, but I'm still not at all convinced it's surefire.

I think that if Don't Matter To Me has more success in the US, it will be because of Drake. Most of the audience that listens to Drake isn't the same as MJ fans. Regardless, an MV would make this song a huge success which is something I'd be content with.

Now Nicki and Ariana are going to be releasing their albums on the same day, oh boy! Stan Twitter is gonna lose it on the 17th . If Queen doesn't go back to being on the 10th I feel like it'll debut at #2 And get blocked again from the number #1 spot like Pinkprint did back in 2014.

Don't Matter to Me is not really a new song - was an unfinished old song from the Thriller era. A finished version of this song released in the early 80s, would have been an instant #1 Probably not now.

I feel similarly and I think I even mentioned it when the album was released. Many saw Drake and MJ in the same sentence and thought "instant #1". I totally get how it seems like a can't lose match up - but it's never that simple - or guaranteed. Some of the biggest names in music have teamed up with quite a bit of hype over the years and failed to score a big #1 hit, or even perform all that well, at least not relative to some of their solo outings. MJ and Janet's "Scream" comes to mind. That said - I do think IDMTM is a good song even if I remove MJ from it an replace him with someone else. However, MJ adds something to it for me - both nostalgically and tonally - even if it's not his best vocal. It works. I don't know about #1 - I'd probably bet against it given how it won't have the advantage of being new - but I think it could be a decent hit. More because of Drake than MJ, because as you mentioned in a different way, MJ's stuff hasn't commanded the charts since the 90s, really. I feel like his consumption these days is going to be mostly fan-driven and front-loaded, like most deceased legends' projects.

Drake/MJ may as well be just Drake -- Not every Drake song is going to hit #1 -- Obviously because 25 of them chart at once and only 1 can be #1 at a time.
To the Drake audience, MJ has been dead for 9 years - Istant #1 because MJ is attached to it comes from people who remember MJ's heyday - I don't believe that the Drake audience would embrace an 80s era song the same way it would have been embraced had it been released in the 80s. Shouldn't even be expected from a song written 36 years ago

I hope Queen has some real bops on it so that this era won't be a total flop. (Although, she got to #10 with Chun-Li and #4 w/ FEFE). Are we finally allowed to call Cardi the queen of rap, considering her two number ones in under a year, several other top 10s, and the fact that there's no chance Nicki matches her 255k units week one?
