This one screamed huge single to me ever since it was a pre release track.

THANK GOD FINALLY! This is gonna be big for him. I hope heâs working on new music though because I would be fine with a new single after this one.

TR told Bobby Bones on Thursday that he is going into the studio soon to start recording for a new album and a brand new single should be out in early 2019.

I like this one a lot and think itâs a fine single but I was hoping for âWhen You Look Like Thatâ. But I think this shows a different side for Thomas and is probably the smart move.

I didnât like âLife Changesâ but this one is great. I love the production and the melody, and this is talk-singing done right. Jake Owen should take note...

Not sure that would fit all that well on radio, and it's just a sex jam. I feel he wants more personal songs this time around.

I'm not shocked this is being released...but I am shocked that "Drink A Little Beer" wasn't.

Shouldâve been âDrink A Little Beerâ. Wouldâve loved to seen his dad have another hit. Was always a fan of his songs âThat Ainât My Truckâ & âDonât Get Me Startedâ.

Love âThat Ainât My Truckâ and âI Brake for Brunettesâ. 90âs Country was the best. Hope they do another duet in the future and make it a single!

I wonder how Sixteen will affect Goodbye Summer, or vice versa, if at all.

I wonder how Sixteen will affect Goodbye Summer, or vice versa, if at all. I'd assume it'll do the same as FGL just had with "Up Down" and "Simple" at the same time or Kenny Chesney with "Everything Is Gonna Be Alright" and "Get Along" at the same time. TR is at the level where he can be on two songs at the same time and all be okay.

Perfect choice for the next single. I thought this would have been released third or fourth, so I'm not surprised at all to see it released now. With how quickly his singles are flying up the charts, I wouldn't be surprised at all to see "Drink A Little Beer" released as the next single around Christmas time.

He's apparently having a new single for (probably) his fourth album in early 2019. Not sure if he could fit it in. And not sure how well it would do. He had only five from the standard edition of 'Tangled Up', right?

I don't think it really matters though: Thomas Rhett is certainly in the position where he could get away with releasing more than 5 singles from this album easily, but it also would be a good idea to move onto new material sooner rather than later if he's been recording. He'd be fine either way.

Ecstatic this is getting a radio release! Loved it since itâs pre-release last summer and always thought it screamed smash.

Looking through the singles from this album... I know I said he was going for the more personal songs but, literally every single (except maybe "Craving You"), was pretty personal.
"Unforgettable" was a love song about Lauren, likely, and how he can't forget being with her.
"Marry Me" was a what-if scenario in which him and Lauren didn't get together because he never revealed his feelings.
"Life Changes" was about how he went from college, to becoming a popular musician with a wife and two kids.
"Sixteen" is about his growing up and about all the little details of his life and how when he was younger, always wished he was older, and at 25, reminiscing on those memories.
I feel like he's changed a lot from his 'Tangled Up' and 'It Goes Like This' albums. He's more mature, with more specific details and not always falling into country cliches. I don't always like his production choices, and his vocals are far from perfect, but I can respect and even admire his craft and how honest he is.
Sorry for the rant, but I used to loathe him.

I could see this being as big as âMarry Me,â itâs just so relatable and so catchy.

Re-enters the Billboard County Airplay Chart, first time on as an actual single, at #53 this week.

You know this is going to be a hit. I am hoping, âGoodbye Summer,â doesnât stall out where it is. If it competes with it, at least GS have a chance. And if GS fails, it wonât be because of this song.

I hope they can do a Kenny Chesney or Florida Georgia Line thing and have two at once. Both songs sound like huge hits.

Yeah I think TR is at a level where he can have two songs in current rotation at once (assuming they are being well-received on all other metrics). I actually think "Sixteen" will rise and peak, and then "Goodbye Summer" will see more conversions in the time period between "Sixteen" and new music from Thomas.

"Sixteen" will definitely go up much faster than "Goodbye Summer". I think the collaboration can be a hit as well, but I definitely foresee radio increasing its airplay at a much slower pace. I expect that radio will treat it better than they would a solo Danielle Bradbery single, but I also don't think they'll blast it up the chart simply because it's got Rhett on it as well.

7 adds this week. Much lower than every other single. Not surprised since it's the fifth one.
