I thought this was okay until the shouting at the end. It's Number 41 on Mediabase.

Your point is well taken, EvanJ. It seems many new alternative groups are screeching thir hearts out, apparently to establish credibility with hard-core listeners. It's unfortunate that Story of the Year has taken that route. Even Hoobastank has made the same mistake with their new song, 'Out Of Control.'
While 'Until The Day I Die' has its good points, I hope Story of the Year has a stronger follow-up song that more of us can enjoy.

This is #22 with a bullet. I love this. The screaming doesn't really annoy me. Atleast it's at the end and not all over the track.

I think it's fine the shouting at the end... just another way as good as others to end a song (IMO). Not a big song, but original, and real alternative

I had the opportunity to see SOTY and pick up their album about a month ago. Great show. Excellent album; I'd say among the best of 2003 (though best new artist has to go to Three Days Grace)
Other songs that I believe have a shot at radio play include Anthem of our Dying Day, Dive Right In, Swallow the Knife, and Sidewalks.

This song is okay, but it sounds too much like groups like Thursday, Taking Back Sunday, ect., none of which I particularly like.

Nah, Taking Back Sunday and Thursday are actually good and brilliant. Especially the latter. This song just sounds like some uninspired ripoff. The lyrics are embarassingly bad.
"Should I bite my tongue? Until blood soaks my shirt We'll never fall apart Tell me why this hurts so much My hands are at your throat And I think I hate you But still we'll say, "remember when" Just like we always do Just like we always do"
Sounds straight out of a Thursday song but dumbed down.

I like this song and I showed this song to one of my friends and she just fell in love with it. It sounds a lot like Finch, the clear choice for a second single would be "Anthem of Our Dying Day," it's a really good song.

This is one of my favorite songs on Alternative right now. I hope it goes Top 10.

I just don't like the song that much. I'd give it about a B. I agree with Tayzlor about the lyrics, although I don't think they're bad, just recycled. The coolest thing about the song is the riffs.

LOL, this is listed as going for adds on February 24, although it's also listed on the 2003 archive page as having gone for adds August 12.
I've really started to like this song lately.

I guess they're re-releasing it. It wouldn't do any good. It's already had a gradual run up the chart and hit the top 15.

"Until The Day I Die" and "Movies" both peaked in the 11-20 range. The Ataris also had a song peak in the 11-20 range and then a big hit. Do you think "Until The Day I Die" will go recurrent and come back like Jack Johnson and 311 did? How many weeks does it have? Story Of The Year got a Top 100 album out of it which bands like Seether and Billy Talent didn't do.

Maybe it's just Active Rock then and not an Alternative re-release.

Why do you guys think it peaked? It will probably be in the top 10 next week.

Why do you guys think it peaked? It will probably be in the top 10 next week. I would say maybe, not probably. It would need to pass Jet and Offspring and remain ahead of AFI, 311, and Hoobastank, or pass another song. KROQ is playing Jimmy Eat World.

The scenereo you gave was exactly what I was considering. But then again, it could very well remain at #12 come next week.

Maybe it's just Active Rock then and not an Alternative re-release. It goes from 88 to 193 spins and enters the Top 50 on Active Rock so it must have gone for adds there. What week will it be for Story Of The Year on the 3/5 Alternative chart?
