Which is just a sarcastic way of saying that any kind of viewing/streaming metric being so readily manipulated so regularly is very UN-surprising.

Yeah, I mean... social media followings/views in general can be bought and sold. Like, easily. I guess the big difference is the pay-per-view payout associated with YouTube?
Honestly, civilization is on the decline at this point. We've already peaked. We can't quite get our act together to respect technology and not abuse it.
