Encore!
Dolly Parton ”The Grass is Blue“ This was personally selected by BackwoodsBarbie who happens to be one of our biggest Dolly fans on Pulse!
The Judds "Born to Be Blue" This was released as the first single from the album Love Can Build a Bridge and reached the Top 5 on the country charts in 1990. This has long been one of my favorite jams from The Judds and the video below is from their Farewell Concert in 1991.
K.T. Oslin "Silver Tongue and Goldplated Lies" I've always really loved this tune from her that was released as the first single from her 1996 album My Roots Are Showing.
Sherrié Austin "Never Been Kissed" This was a Top 30 hit and was released as the first single from her album Love in the Real World in 1999.
Carlene Carter "Come On Back" This Top 3 single from 1990 followed on the tracks of her hit "I Fell In Love" and has always been another go-to for me from her catalog of songs.

Alright folks I've got a big trip planned as I will be heading to Nashville to see a show at the Ryman and attending Mark Wills' Opry induction as well as the Willie Nelson tribute concert featuring King George and other country greats so I won't be able to do any more reveals for this week. I might post a few items here with some of my favorite country award moments from some of the female artists featured, but otherwise I probably won't be able to pick this back up until sometime later next week when I should be able to get us into the Top 20! Anyways this will be my first trip visiting Nashville and I know that I'm going to be geeking out the entire time lol

Surprised Sherrié Austin came this far. It was one of only a couple songs in this rankdown that I could totally do without. It immediately fell to the bottom of my list among all these great songs.

Eagle When She Flies deserved better. It's great song and it's a shame that it was eliminated in the bottom half of this rankdown.
Love Can Build a Bridge is another great song that was eliminated too soon. I am actually more familiar with Cher's version (which is also great) and I didn't even know that it was originaly recorded by The Judds until this rankdown.
Come Next Monday is a nice discovery and I will check out K.T Oslin discography because so far I like every song of hers that I heard (2 in 80's rankdown and this one).

I actually didn’t know Cher covered “Love Can Build a Bridge” and had to look it up this morning to give it a listen. From what I can tell her version was released in 1995 but only in Europe and featured some other artists including Eric Clapton. I love me some Cher but I’m not sure how I feel about her voice on this...but then again I’m probably just biased since well The Judds

I was fan of Cher long before I even knew that country music exist :)

"Come Next Monday" deserved at least top 20 :(
"Lucky In Love" is great but I loved most of her other singles even better. Also "Never Been Kissed" isn't her final top 30. That would be "Streets Of Heaven".

This evening I’ll unveil the next five artists to leave and get us to the top 25. Here’s a few things you can expect to see:
- Three of you will finally see your #51 leave - No one has a top 5 eliminated but a whopping ten top 10 ranking’s will exit - Of the five songs only one of them was a No. 1 hit while two others were Top 5 hits
And here’s a hint for one of the songs!

Ok y'all I'm going to reveal the next song to leave this evening and it's one that has been showcased previously in two different rankdowns. We also have a tie for the next two positions so the spot for #30 went to the song that had two last place rankings as well as a higher standard deviation. But first, a word from our sponsor

Deana Carter bows out with one of two songs she has in the rankdown and was just previously showcased in .indulgecountry ’s Deana Carter Rankdown where it was able to garner enough support for a top 10 finish. Both him and g8erboi lose a top 10 ranking here as well while on the other end we have both rgreen0625 and BlueShades874 who lose their #51 ranking. This song was on place to finish somewhere in the mid to upper 30’s until a slew of top 20 rankings from SHOOTER , bboat11 , and BackwoodsBarbie helped to elevate this into a top 30 showing.

Before proceeding I wanted to jump back to the hint I provided earlier in the day as it gives a couple clues about our next artist. If the female actress isn't recognizable then pay attention to what she says to Tom Hanks at about the 1:00 mark...

That clip from the movie Cast Away features about three hints for Canadian country music artist Michelle Wright as that is none other than Lari White saying to Tom Hanks “But if you head back in that direction you’ll find a whole lotta nothin’ all the way to Canada” with the ranch of Lari’s character also being located and filmed in Canadian, Texas. The final clue is that the song “Take It Like a Man” features Lari on background vocals! This was able to briefly dip inside the top 25 with the help from a couple top 20 rankings but ended up being hindered by g8erboi ’s last place ranking as well as a bottom 5 ranking from austin . With the help of two top 10 rankings from SHOOTER and gardyfan this was able to finally stabilize and land just inside the top 30.

For the remaining songs we say goodbye to three more artists who were also featured in the previous rankdown for 80's Ladies. All three songs were Top 3 hits at country radio and one was the final #1 hit she had on the charts.

Kathy’s “Walking Away a Winner” was her last Top 3 hit at country radio and was released as the lead single from the album of the same name in 1994. This was able to hover close to finishing up near the top 20 but ended up being hindered by five mid 40 rankings from zaclord 🌈 , toomuchboy , g8erboi , bboat11 , and gardyfan where it finally placed at #28. You are sure to see this one again in a future YE rankdown from none other than Cody Wants Out... who was the only one to lose a top 10 ranking for this.

“I Didn’t Know My Own Strength” was Lorrie’s third and last No. 1 country hit and was featured as the lead single from her first greatest hits album released in 1995. This remained a strong top 30 contender for most of the time as it received three top 10 rankings from bboat11 , BlueShades874 , and castleoblivion26 . Most of the other rankings came within the mid to low 30’s with only one bottom 5 ranking from none other than LBTrocks .

We say goodbye to Tanya Tucker as her 1991 hit “Down to My Last Teardrop” leaves just shy of the top 25. This was the lead single from her successful What Do I Do with Me album which would go on to propel her to win the CMA Female Vocalist of the Year Award in the fall of 1991. This started out strong as yours truly placed this inside my top 10 as did gardyfan but would end up being hit with three rankings outside of the top 40 which prevented this from going any further and missing the top 25 by only 6 points.

Encore!
Michelle Wright ”Nobody's Girl“ This was released as the lead single to her 1996 album For Me It's You and while it was her final Top 50 hit on the US Country charts it was a #1 hit for her in Canada.
Kathy Mattea ”Time Passes By“ This is a personal favorite of mine and was a Top 10 hit for her in 1991 from the album of the same name.
Lorrie Morgan ”Good as I Was to You“ Another personal favorite of mine that she took to the Top 5 in early 1997 from the album Greater Need. I've always thought this song just slays lol.
Tanya Tucker "Little Things“ This was the lead single from her album Complicated released in 1997 and would go on to be her final Top 10 hit.
