Gwen is working with rappers on her solo album, so it seems she doesn't care if Alternative dumps No Doubt. Or Bush... But that's already happened.

Which still combined may not have had as much audience as "Let Me Blow Ya Mind" did on CHR-Rhythmic and Urban. Alternative plays some rap and didn't dump Limp Bizkit for releasing "N 2 Gether Now" or "Red Light, Green Light." Alternative didn't play "Simple Kind Of Life" and "Bathwater" that much (I don't know chart positions) and that was before "Let Me Blow Ya Mind." I don't think the "Rock Steady" singles belonged on Alternative, but I could see Alternative plays "It's My Life." Gwen is working with rappers on her solo album, so it seems she doesn't care if Alternative dumps No Doubt. "Simple kind of life" peaked at #16, which is respectable. I don't think "bathwater" charted on any format.

Well, "Southside" did reach #3, but you guys can debate whether or not it was Moby or Gwen that pushed it up. Either way, I don't think "Let Me Blow Ya Mind" contributed much, if anything, to stations' reluctance to play them.

I really don't think that "Let Me Blow..." was the problem. Crap music, and the wrong songs to promote was the problem. "Hey Baby" doesn't fit the alternative climate, and probably there was better songs to fit alt. there.

I don't think "bathwater" charted on any format. Billboard says it cracked the Adult Top 40 at #39. I do remember both of my local alternative stations playing it, as well as the video being in pretty heavy rotation on MTV2. Back when MTV2 used to play videos...

"It's My Life" is just ready to debut. It's #50 right now, so it will at least end up as a midweek hit.

That rules. I hope they can tough it out.

And so does Godsmack, which means AFI will debut. But that's off-topic...

It's been leapt over by Staind (I thought for certain this was already on the chart) and AFI, leaving it at #52 (before recurrents). If it can maintain its 2-play lead over Static-X, it's in.
I do not care for this song, yet.

It's My Life is hitting the 'light' alternative over here (WLIR) where they play anything from Blink's new one to Sarah McLachlan. It's definitely going to be played more because it's an 80s cover and LIR loves the 80s.
The song's not bad, but I wouldn't expect K-Rock to play it.

WLIR said U2's first concert in the United States was for them.

In the old days this is a surefire alternative top 10 hit. However in todays climate where everything sounds the same and most of the older artists are ignored it will be overlooked. I liked the original..and love this one...funny thing is this one will do infinitely better on the pop charts than the original ever did. Gwens has a lot of diversity and you have to give credit to the band for playing it smart after radio and consumers pretty much rejected their 2nd cd except for "Ex Girlfriend"
WOW 4 Garbage songs off the last cd. I want that station instead of Krock. They played 0 and played only 1 on their previous cd despite the fact that Garbage was a total staple on Krock when they first came out.
