I'm so glad that my #1 is still in. I hope it can at least make the top 20, if not the top 10.

New live acoustic of Sara's latest single just got released tonight so enjoy that while I'm on my trip and unable to reveal. I hope this is also a tease that Leo ✔ is about to lose his #1 and "All the Love You Left Me" will finally leave! Indeed... the timing for her putting out that acoustic version couldn't have been more perfect! The second single from Words, which failed to make any impact upon release thanks to her now being an independent artist, came out ahead of the tie with her second Greatest Hits single thanks to our very first #1 loss of the rankdown, courtesy of Leo ✔ . "All the Love You Left Me" is a grieving ballad that highlights and personifies the 'love' left behind when someone departs a relationship, which Sara Evans interprets to be about a widow whose husband has passed on (though the song is written ambiguously so that it doesn't directly reference death). This one fell right smack in the middle of the Words rankdown when it happened, and it falls in similar fashion in the full-scale rankdown as it lands a few pegs below the halfway point, missing the top 20. It proved a bit polarizing as it had a pretty even spread between posters placing it in their teens, 20s, and 30s. "It can't hold me, it don't kiss me But in these sheets, it lays down with me"

Sad to see this song leave, but then again the placement feels just about right when you look at everything that is left. I wish this song got more love overall though! It's one of the standout tracks from Words, imo.

Sara Evans recorded "Low" for the official movie soundtrack to Billy: The Early Years, a biographical film about the early life of evangelist Billy Graham which starred Armie Hammer (who can be seen in the music video since it includes scenes from the movie). It was released in between her Greatest Hits era and her proper comeback to music and made virtually no impact on the charts by barely charting upon release, falling off for three months, and then returning only to re-set the same peak it initially had. Much like its lukewarm reception at country radio, it was met with little fanfare among posters' lists here. This rootsy and organic faith-based number that is sonically a bit reminiscent of "Born to Fly" received two top 10s (one of which is Leo ✔ again who has back-to-back major losses), and a handful of other high marks, but it largely landed in most posters' bottom half. "Like the way your mama felt the very first time you were held The way your daddy still looks at your mama now Ain't that the way that love should be? Gets you high, makes you believe There's nothing in this world can get us down low"

I would like to see how "Low" would be received if it was part of one of her real albums, and had been released as a real single. The fact that nobody knows it exists is a huge disservice to how good it is!

Y'all told this one where to go... and it was right out of this rankdown. "Anywhere," a funky and bright uptempo with a big belted chorus about grabbing her man and hopping into the car for a getaway, was issued as the third and final single from Stronger. It came and went quietly on the charts in the summer of 2012 after being released several months after its predecessor had fallen off the charts and given little in the way of promotional muscle or hope of catching on... which is a shame because it was one of her most radio-friendly releases to date. Two lose a top 10 here -- myself and Leo ✔ (who takes his third straight major loss #RIP), and a number of teen ranks are expelled as well as about 50% of us placed this one in our upper half, but we do see the loss of another poster's #40 courtesy of g8erboi, though most of the lower ranks for this one skewed closer to the 20s. "Tell your boss maybe you'll come back and maybe you won't Well in life sometimes people take chances Most times they don't Don't wanna sit on the side of the road While our dreams pass me by I'm sick of livin' my life in park I wanna live it in drive"

Up next we have our first hit single loss of the rankdown! So far we haven't seen anything that has graced the top 20 of the country charts exit the rankdown, but that will change with our #21 reveal. Feel free to guess which song is next to go and thus the last song to miss the top 20 here.

The first top 20 hit from Sara Evans' catalog to be shown the way out of this rankdown is the fourth and final single from Real Fine Place, which experiences its first loss here as "You'll Always Be My Baby" misses the top 20 by about 20 points. This ballad is composed in the classic country style of a three verse story that is connected by one uniform chorus -- in this case a woman who experiences the loving comfort of her father in the first verse, and God in the second, and wraps the song by passing the same compassion on to her own son now that she's a mother of her own. It's always been one of her more polarizing singles among her discography, so it doesn't surprise me to see it be the first hit to check out and for it to clock in just shy of the top 20 here. Some of y'all weren't overly fond of this saccharine tune and thus we see several bottom ranks out here, including two that are just 1-position shy of last place ( bboat11 and g8erboi at #39). Despite this, three individuals slotted this one into their top 10, and it received quite a few ranks in the teens as well. "There he is My little man I'm sure he'll get in trouble every now and then And I pray to God that when he does I'll be just as understanding as my father was 'Cause the last thing that I wanna do is let him down So instead of being angry, I'm gonna throw my arms around him"

I've just never liked "You'll Always Be My Baby" much at all. I don't know what it is, but the melody does nothing for me and, quite frankly, the lyrics don't either.

didn’t guess bc I’m not quite sure what was a hit and what wasn’t, but I really enjoyed this one! It’s just so sweet.

“Low” - I had never heard this before and while this particular kind of song has never been my favorite I think Sara does a terrific job singing this. As I’ve said before she just looks stunning in that video and is almost glowing!
“Anywhere” - I totally get the love for this song but for whatever reason it has just never clicked with me…it might be a combination of the repetitiveness and high notes of how Sara sings the title of the song. Anyways my favorite line from this has always been California, Mississippi, all the way to New York City…as long as you're riding shotgun with me.
“You’ll Always Be My Baby” - Perfect ranking for this one! I’ve always quite enjoyed this and Sara always pulls me in with that chorus. That said I’m not surprised to see rankings for this to be all over the place since I figured it has always seemed to be one of her more polarizing singles.
As for the top 20 it looks just as strong I was thinking it would be and it'll be sad to start to see some of these songs leave the rankdown as I'm expecting there'll be quite a few surprises before we reach the top 10.

Praises that "All the love you left me left me lef me left meat" is gone. Don't care for that in the slightest. One of my least favorites from Words so I'm bummed some of the better songs didn't get to be a single (not that anything would have done anything on radio but still...)

Tim get out of my head!!! lol "Low" is so great and I love Sara's vocals on it so so much, plus the production on it is great. I truly believe if this had been an actual lead single it would've hit big. And she's stunning in the video, absolutely gorgeous! "Anywhere" I always understood why it was chosen as a single, and I'm glad it was chosen over "Desperately" but I never cared much for it either. The line Tim highlights is the only part I love about it and if we could take that line and it's delivery and build a new better song around it I'd be in heaven! "You'll Always Be My Baby" shouldn't have been a single when "New Home Town" was in the wings waiting (and like half the rest of the album lol) but I enjoy it for what it is and still think it's stunning. I have a soft spot for the music video too. Something about the colors of it. Can we just eliminate my lowest 3 and give everything else a tie at #1? It'll be less painful!
