Drake has easily the most forgettable megahits. People will struggle mightily to remember In My Feelings, Gods Plan or One Dance 5 years from now.

Lmao I can already feel Nicki fuming, a rant is coming y'all. Either Twitter or Queen Radio, get ready. There's no need to. Two different careers, different stats. Plus, Nicki congratulated Cardi on her first #1 before all the mess went down. Lmao first Mariah mocking Nicki for not having any #1s on American Idol, and now Cardi gets her 3rd #1 in the span of a year...

She said at first she wasnt even going to send her verse cause her label didnt want her going into pop so early.

Fastest time between first and third number one single [solo females + female groups]:10 Fergie: London Bridge 8/19/06 - Big Girls Don't Cry 9-8-07 (55 weeks) Imagine if Fergalicious had actually hit #1 (the week it was #2, they took it off iTunes for a bit, so it just narrowly missed the top spot)

agreeed with the above post..Cher going number 1 was a shocker. Cher's "Believe" and Madonna's "Hung Up" were the most surprising worldwide smashes for me Shows age is just a number - both are revolutionary smashes

Having GLY hit #1 and Youngblood enter the top ten is giving me flashbacks to the week when Havana hit #1 and New Rules finally hit the top ten.

I personally like Rihanna more than Madonna but I don't agree yet. Madonna was known to put something out and it was expected to be a hit 18 years into her career. After that it wasn't guaranteed. The only thing that Rihanna has over Madonna is that she collaborates with ALOT more artists for different projects. Madonna's projects were always her own event. Believe me I don't like typing this because I didn't care for Madonna for the longest time. lol Well kinda. I think the (potential) difference with Rhanna is that she really could make an uninterrupted run of consistant hitmaking, where she doesn't have eras where she falls out of favor and makes maybe one hit if that makes sense. Like Madonna was on top of the world for a long tme and then it suddenly got a lot harder. The public turned against her. Same with Mariah. Now both went on to have hits after those periods but it wasn't like they were It Girls anymore. The hits were more like one offs than one of a string from an album. And they stopped feeling quite as relevant. Usually that happens for superstar women somewhere around their 10-15th year in the spotlight. Rihanna however, is approaching year 15 in the public eye and one could argue she's more relevant in pop culture than ever. This next release will be the test but I don't have any sense that pop radio is pulling away from her or younger pop audience think she's a bit passe. It will be interesting to see how long she can keep this momentum IMO. I used to assume her time was coming too but then she dropped that make up /fashion line and now she's like the coolest person that ever lived in the public eye. LOL Madonna had multiple top 10s from every album she released from 1983-2000, no? Her first studio album to not produce hits was American Life, which came a full 20 years into her career.

It's a shame that a bad song took over. Pretty much everything but FEFE would have been better. Tbh I would have preferred IMF to get 11 weeks. I'm legitimately confused on how it got knocked down if IMF was stronger overall like their whole runs

Fastest time between first and third number one single [solo females]:Ranking | Female | Weeks | First #1 | Date | Third #1 | Date | 1 | Whitney Houston | 29 | Saving All My Love for You | 10/26/85 | Greatest Love of All | 5/17/86 | 1 | Paula Abdul | 29 | Straight Up | 2/11/89 | Cold Hearted | 9/2/89 | 3 | Mariah Carey | 31 | Vision of Love | 8/4/90 | Someday | 3/9/91 | 4 | Donna Summer | 35 | MacArthur Park | 11/11/89 | Bad Girls | 7/14/79 | 5 | Monica | 36 | The Boy is Mine | 6/6/98 | Angel of Mine | 2/13/99 | 6 | Adele | 37 | Rolling in the Deep | 5/21/11 | Set Fire to the Rain | 2/4/12 | 7 | Cardi B | 51 | Bodak Yellow | 10/7/17 | Girls Like You | 9/29/18 | 8 | Fergie | 55 | London Bridge | 8/19/06 | Big Girls Don't Cry | 9/8/07 | 9 | Christina Aguilera | 63 | Genie in a Bottle | 7/31/99 | Come on Over Baby | 10/14/00 | 10 | Madonna | 76 | Like a Virgin | 12/22/84 | Live to Tell | 6/7/86 |
It's funny how things changed just as quickly as they happened for some of those artists; Monica, Fergie (as a solo artist) and Wilson Phillips never reached number one again (and Wilson Phillips never even returned to the top ten after "You're In Love"), and after notching an impressive 4th number one just a few months after "Bad Girls", Donna Summer was shut out of the top spot for the rest of her career. I don't think Cardi's career will hit a slump anytime soon but it's entirely possible she never reaches the summit again. It sounds ridiculous now but it also would have sounded ridiculous about the above mentioned ladies when they were on top with their third number one.

And likely would have produced hits if it had been handled better. The title track was a poor lead single choice and the music video controversy killed any chance that it had.

Cardi messed up though by not making Get Up 10 the next single. I think her team is thinking about the grammys and bigger picture 2 urban bops (BY/BC) 2 rhythmic jams giving diversity (ring/ B careful) 1 latin hip pop bop (ILI) it's more balanced

It sounds ridiculous now but it also would have sounded ridiculous about the above mentioned ladies when they were on top with their third number one. To be fair, Fergie's had more to do with abandoning her solo career after her first album rather than naturally becoming irrelevant. She went on to have The E.N.D. era with Black Eyed Peas, which again, produced another 3 #1's right after. Then another moderately successful album with Black Eyed Peas, and then a huge break releasing her next solo album over a decade later. It's honestly funny because Fergie is probably only next to MJ in terms of having the biggest back to back eras on Hot 100 ever. Thriller/Bad is the only back-to-back Hot 100 dominance I can think of similar to The Dutchess/The E.N.D. (Well also Rhythm Nation/janet. now that I think) Fergie's unstoppable 2000s success (along with Black Eyed Peas) in general is looked over because they have largely fell off the radar in terms of relevance due to not putting out any music or even features for such a long period.

That awkward moment when a pop song with a rap feature "breaks" a 34-week streak of rap #1s And the one before the streak, "Havana", also had a rap feature. Which makes Perfect the last songs with no rap acts credited to be #1.

Sure, but Beyoncé wants to be a rapper most of the time now... so... it's been a while.* (Granted, Perfect's last week at #1 didn't credit Beyoncé). Congrats M5 and especially Cardi. Still enjoy the song a lot.
