Someone start a support group for those of us pressed about Perfect surviving all these album bombs week after week. I am pressed and tired. Ed Sheeran needs to be stopped. It's personal now For real. It's not funny anymore. Feels like someone keeps letting the song fall to #25 to fuck with us. I'll be really surprised if it hangs on tomorrow.

IF Mona Lisa indeed is #1, it must have record breaking Apple Music streams because Spotify isn't THAT good (21m)

I'll burn the whole place down if this happens. I don't understand why so many people are so pressed about Perfect staying on the charts. Obvi people like it, so it hangs on. I guess we are concerned about year end charts? I never have been overly worried about those lol...I feel they are skewed in a sense that if anything is #1 when the chart year ends/begins, its points are divided. Lots of big fall hits end up being on the year end charts of both years and don't look nearly as big as they actually were. But anyway, yeah Perfect is a good song so...who cares? Anyone who is really mad should redirect that anger into VOTING in the midterms. LOL but not really funny. I don't know about other people, but I have issues with Billboard's year-end charts only because they're what we'll use to reflect back on songs/albums that supposedly dominated a year. For this year, Taylor Swift's reputation might very well end the year as the #1 album on the year-end chart and if Perfect hangs on, it'll end the year as the #1 song on the year-end chart, both statements that wouldn't hold true seeing as Drake has the biggest song and album of the year with God's Plan and Scorpion, but if Taylor and Ed and up taking the #1 spot in the album and song year-end charts, that's how future generations will view 2018 in a nutshell. That's ridiculous to me considering the HISTORIC year Drake has had on the charts. That's the source of my anger.

It's Spotify numbers are weak and I don't think it pulled in that much more streams on Apple Music tbh. We'll wait and see. I still doubt it debuts at #1.

Compared to Drake? She had a good year. Rihanna, in the streaming era, isn't nearly the force Drake is, and if Drake drops an album next year, I'm almost certain he'll have a much better year than her. So, like I said earlier, the male duck will dominate 2019 and you'll have to sit and watch it happen again like you did this year. "Not nearly the force Drake is..."? She may not move at the same pace he does with streams but she is a massive streaming force (the biggest among Females and virtually second to Drake in cumulative streams overall and most 1B+ streamed albums moved - Spotify) and for a woman who debuted 14 years ago, and has already dominated the Digital age, that's commendable. Of course she may not have a 'Scorpion' like era/bomb on the Hot 100 (she already had that with GGGB/LOUD etc.) but that's merely because she isn't a Hip-Hop act and won't release an album with 25+ tracks.

I said in the streaming era, and I stand by that. Maybe I shouldn't have said "nearly," my bad. Rihanna is a streaming force, yes, but there are other figures who would put up bigger numbers than her right now. Right now, I'd place the biggest artists in the streaming era as: Drake, Ed Sheeran, Justin Bieber (I know he hasn't dropped an album since 2015, but he's established himself as a streaming force and his next album should more than highlight that), Post Malone and then Rihanna. I wasn't trying to take anything away from Rihanna's power. She's more than proven herself as a successful artist and I say that whenever we discuss her here. I was trying to say that Drake is a much bigger force than her in the streaming era and I'm not wrong in that assessment. Views, More Life and Scorpion - all projects released after her album ANTi, have moved more units. Drake's songs have performed better. His chart presence has been stronger. All of this has happened in the streaming era. I think Rihanna dominated the digital era the same way Drake is dominating/will continue to dominate the streaming era.

kierz7 also, isn't she rumoured to be working on two albums simultaneously? If she releases her next project as a double album then we can most certainly compare it to Drake's Scorpion, so don't count her dropping as many songs as are on Drake's Scorpion at once, out yet. It could very well happen (I hope it does tbh, more Rihanna is good for everybody).

I specifically remember this week because of UB40 going to #1. It was a nail biter for me. And the three "Don't" songs in a row, with 4 total. I also remember this timeframe well because Christmas of 1988 I got my first Tandy 1000 computer - so I started typing the entire top 40 and printing it out on my dot matrix printer instead. BALLER.‾\_(ツ)_/‾ I wish I had kept some of those relics.
