Could happen. I can't remember seeing a song rise as slow as this before. Just when I think its slowing down it picks up again and it is consistently gaining around 9O to 1OO spins a week.
As I mentioned a few months back I thought this song deserved top 1O but didn't think it would actually get past #30.

Well, "The Red" and "Headstrong" rose much slower than this ("Headstrong" almost got caught by 20/20), but this is its 17th week. I was just thinking about a top 10 possibility for this yesterday, as I saw it likely to go to #15 by the end of the week. I'm still not that tired of the song, probably because I've heard it a grand total of once on the radio (in Atlanta ).

Release this to CHR/Pop immediately. This truly is the most successful current Alternative hit crossover in the making!

Oh yeah, who could forget about "Headstrong". Unforunately I've never heard it on the radio.

It might make it onto the active rock chart this week. I'm commenting on that because I was surprised to hear it on an active rock station in Minneapolis yesterday.

The intro to this song reminds me of Korn

It's lost its bullet and fallen pretty far down the 50s now. But on Alternative, it's up to #11 with the biggest gains it's had yet. It's even gaining more than Puddle of Mudd!

The campaign worked! lol.
No WXRK, yet, though.
Peace out, Andree

I've heard Meant to Live three times on WXRK over the past week. It's not in heavy rotation, so it hasn't made it to the mediabase list of stations, but it has gotten a few spins.

And wow, did you notice the active rock spin totals? The #50 song has 169 spins!!! Switchfoot has had quite a few christian radio singles, most of which I haven't heard. But for those that are interested, I recommend taking a listen to "learning to breathe".

And no KNDD either. >:( KNDD is a really weird station. They'll go out of their way to play new music by bands who probably aren't even in the top 100, yet a song that's been on for nearly 20 weeks in the top 50 and still rising, they hold out on. They actually did the same thing with "Headstrong" and didn't add it until it reached the top 10. I guess I have to hope history repeats itself. I've still only heard this song twice and that was over three weeks ago.

I finally heard this song on radio for the first time yesterday on "Out of Order", but I already have the CD.
Does anybody know which took longest to reach its peak: "The Red", "Fine Again", or "Headstrong"? "I Hate Everything About You" is also a slow riser, and on active rock, "7 Nation Army" is sure taking its time. Like "Meant to Live", I saw "Headstrong" on the charts months before I first heard it on the radio.

If the current trends continue, this will hit either #8 or #9 next week. yay.
Peace, Andree

Yes, at this point it has surpassed all my expectations. I would guess a Pop and Hot AC adds date is forthcoming, with the near-certainty of a second Alternative single (hopefully "Dare You to Move" will finally get some kind of a release).
Oh, and I heard the song on radio for a second time, also on "Out of Order".

It's been lingering around just a bit too long for me. Much like Trapt...a song that I kind of like, but not in the form of an overdose. At least with Trapt it took me twenty weeks to even hear the song, whereas radio here has been all over Switch Foot since before the beginning.

I also think the verses of this song remind me of some generic alt. band's song from the mid to late '90's. But like Ween, I can't put my finger on it.

This might finally make the top 5 this week. It's 12 spins below Blink-182 (whose trend is over 100 spins worse), while above Incubus by nearly 200 spins.
