Would love to comment on this but I am resisting because this is a chart thread not a political one.

Cardi B's new single ''Money'' officially drops October 26th !! with the hot 100 so weak atm, it will be interesting to see how the song debuts ! I don't know why her and her label think this is a good move. She still has the #1 song on radio. Taki Taki could get a radio push any moment now. She's pushing Ring on radio currently. And now this. I guess this is what they settled on doing instead of releasing that project she said she'd release at the end of the year, but still. If she wants to push any more singles, push singles off your album or push a feature. Don't release whole-ass solo lead singles that aren't off your album to close off a year. Makes sense if Money will be the lead single off another album, though.

I hope she doesn't over saturate herself like Nicki, it's gonna tarnish her brand in the long run. Male rappers do it all the time. Drake being a prime example. Drake is different. He's been here for way longer and he has a fanbase sizeable enough to do that. This is Cardi's second/third year as a mainstream force. If she pushes it too much, her singles will start underperforming. It could happen to anyone. Even Drake had to take a break from 2017 to start back up again in 2018 because fatigue started to creep in.

Oh, in addition to weekly DRAKE IS GOD "discussion" we have sexual assault this time too, how brilliant.

It's crazy, but he's already burned through Scorpion. Any features he appears on from now till the year runs out will burn out quickly, too. Nonstop and Don't Matter to Me will do their thing on radio, but that's it. As for topping charts, Mia and maybe some other feature might do the trick for the remainder of the year? Other than that, once the year flips over, 2018 will become a distant memory to people and they'll start craving new hits like they always do and if Drake is ready to go again, he will.

Oh, in addition to weekly DRAKE IS GOD "discussion" we have sexual assault this time too, how brilliant. No one says Drake is God, lol. Talking about the dominance one artist has on the charts over the course of the year is totally normal. I'm assuming if another artist dominated that much, we'd spend a lot of time talking about them, too. As for the sexual assault talk, I think that should be discussed somewhere else, especially if it isn't that a particular artist we care about assaulted someone. Otherwise, we should always discuss MUSIC or music-related topics here, which I believe we do, for the most part.

We can write-off ''Sunflower'' as the potential #1 contender. Just heard it and it's basically a Swae Lee song that they're shamelessly trying to sell as a Post Malone song. That means we're stuck with Maroon 5 and ZEZE.

I think he's referring to the plethora of women that have been accusing/falsely accusing others of sexual assault years later, aka the #MeToo movement. This ain’t it, chief.

I think you misunderstood. Obviously they consented. What I am saying is that they can lie in the future and say that they didn't consent to being hugged or touched. They can just make up some bulls**t story like "I turned up on set to film the music video, I was told we were just going to dance and lip sync, and then out of nowhere Adam grabbed me forcefully and pulled me towards him and put his arms around me". Any of them women could do that if they wanted to. I hope for Adam's sake they are honest women and won't do something like that, but as we've seen in recent years, some women do lie. It's risky. I reckon they probably did sign contracts beforehand to prevent this from happening. So to clarify, I am not accusing Adam Levine of sexually assaulting anybody. No, but you’re diminishing the experiences of many many women to that of a joke and for what? Your own insecurity? He's not diminishing anything. He's just making a joke about the fact that people lie about stuff like that.

Y'all can't have it both ways, calling out arguments based on the false stereotypes of a rap fan/pop fan dynamic, and then get away with making jokes about false stereotypes of sexual assault cases.
Anyway, either Better Now goes number one this week against odds, or it looks like Girls Like You is gonna have to be defeated by a debut eventually. It doesn't look like Zeze's gonna pull it off unless it starts to get some radio play.

Rap artists always do loads of features. 99.9% of Post Malone's songs have him as lead artist and he has a career spanning back to 2015. Says a lot.

Doesn't the Bad Bunny song have reggaeton elements? I can't see him doing that. He'll probably still drop rap hits next year, but he'll find some other element to incorporate into it like he did with New Orleans bounce this year.

Girls like You will more than likely block Zeze from a #1 debut and Mia might rise in position the week after it's debut (it's already gaining on radio (rhythmic especially) and I could see the gains increasing as the days go by).

He is more R&B than rap. His music definitely has rap elements. He uses cadences and croons about topics that rappers rap about, but yeah, calling him a rapper has always been a reach. He makes hip-hop adjacent music at best. If you wanna be honest, he's really just a pop singer.

I'd much rather have GLY stay #1 for a couple more weeks than ZEZE or Mia.
On another note, Halsey is performing exceptionally well in every metric with "Without Me". Really happy for her!

Drake's Nonstop is now #1 on rhythmic and Urban. DMTM seems to be doing well on both formats also so I guess it'll be 5/5 #1s soon for the Scorpion singles

Just saw that Billboard took away Beyoncé's credit on "Perfect" on all charts, even when the song first peaked at #1. Disappointing. Feels like they're robbing her of a credit they gave her themselves.
