I know there's another thread for this already, but: we love a man who keeps leading his genre to new heights.

Can Billboard change its Hot 100 rules again already? Why? If they put a limit on how many songs an artist can chart at a time, it would be inaccurate. The Billboard Hot 100 tracks the most popular songs of each week. If they changed the rules, the chart would not be the most popular songs of each week.

Can Billboard change its Hot 100 rules again already? Man, you're annoying as hell. Every week you're complaining about the same thing. Move on and enjoy your radio driven Hot 100 #1.

Can Billboard change its Hot 100 rules again already? Honestly, the main problem is some people's s**tty taste, not those rules.

By the end of the year, we will have these titles, I assure you.

Listen to and/or stream something else then Of course! Just wanted to say that there's a difference between a great hip-hop and a garbage. I think people don't mind great hip-hop at #1, at all.

So, it's safe to say no one cares about Lil Yachty anymore? He released an album today and almost nobody cared.

WEWE TETE PEPE SESE LELE MEME UEUE XEXE 2E2E HAHAHA GUYS I HATE RAP HAHA SO ORIGINAL HAHAHA RAP SUCK GUYS AMIRITE HAHAH stfu Did you even read his post though, he said he doesn't mind good rap songs on top of the charts, then cited examples of multiple good hip-hop #1's this year. He wasn't at all hating on the genre as a whole. I feel the same, and even if hip-hop isn't my favorite genre, I wouldn't mind if Sicko Mode got the #1 next week. The MV turned out great and the song is still pretty good. I vastly prefer it over ZEZE.

I'm always thinking about the same thing, now it's a hip hop dominated time where still GOOD Hip Hop songs exist, which are catchy af :) By Drake,Cardi,Kendrick,Childish Gambino etc. But some trash artist are benefiting from the hip hop streaming era (6x9 or whatever his name is and all these wanna be rappers &these mumble Soundcloud rappers, who're really popular now due to this era.

Well considering its these so called "Soundcloud rappers" who are more appealing to the demographics of streamers, the charts only reflects that by its numbers.

Fads have always come and gone, many of these rappers will be forgotten in a year or two and new stuff will appear.
Who remembers members of G Unit? Cassidy? Chingy? They were big in 2004 and what have they done in last ten years...

If they changed the rules, the chart would not be the most popular songs of each week. They already do it with recurrency. Yes, without going so back in time, who even remembers Fetty Wap?

can someone please inform me what "good" hip-hop is and what "bad" hip-hop is, i'm really confused This is subjective, of course, but if we're talking about the kind of hip-hop that typically falls under the "pop music" category (meaning, what's hot), I'd say good hip-hop is the kind you can actually understand the words to, that you can rap/sing along to, that has a catchy hook and a dope beat (regardless of lyrical content). Hip-hop songs in the 00's used to be like this ("Hot in Herre", "Candy Shop", "Low"...). Bad hip-hop, for me, is this lowbeat stuff that's been popular of late, with the boring backing music, or sometimes beats that are honestly so annoying that you have to teach yourself to like, mumble rapping that you can't make sense of, the same sound effects again and again (why is everyone, even Pharrell, imitating Migos' ad libs?)... I mean, if you can't sing along to it, if you can't dance to it, if there is no deep message cos it's all about beef and drugs and ho*s anyway, then what are you getting out of those songs?
