Mia and SICKOMODE falling on Spotify. I doubt Mia will go #1. I really hope SICKOMODE can pull through, but the spotify numbers need to be better.

Okay. Can somebody explain me why Eastside, a perfect radio hit, have to wait for so long to gain position, while at the streaming, it's pretty solid?

You need to look is how many streams SICKO MODE has this Friday vs. how many streams it had the Friday before (Oct. 12). SM gained 95k streams and that's good (not great, but good might be enough next week because GLY is about to fall harder on radio). It's falling in positions because the competition is stronger today than it was yesterday.

Interesting that for SM, Apple Music is currently way weaker than Spotify (Flip That Switch levels)

Listen to and/or stream something else then Of course! Just wanted to say that there's a difference between a great hip-hop and a garbage. I think people don't mind great hip-hop at #1, at all. Or else it's not garbage and people actually like those songs.

A #1 song is what statistically MOST PEOPLE like more than others DURING THAT WEEK.
MOST PEOPLE may not necessarily mean everybody.

Why? If they put a limit on how many songs an artist can chart at a time, it would be inaccurate. The Billboard Hot 100 tracks the most popular songs of each week. If they changed the rules, the chart would not be the most popular songs of each week. It's already inaccurate with songs going recurrent. But at least then the top 50 is (with the exception of weeks post-extreme album bombs) for the most part accurate and the top 25 is absolute. The way that’s been proposed is the reason UK’s chart is useless: not even the top 10 is ever accurate.

Removing songs because of how long they've been on the charts is still stupid and I'll take that idea to the grave because even though it's annoying that Perfect is still probably top 30, it iiiiis still top 30 and pretending that it's not makes zero sense

A #1 song is what statistically MOST PEOPLE like more than others DURING THAT WEEK. That's not true. A #1 is only the most streamed, purchased, and played song of an arbitrarily set seven day period. How people perceive its quality is not a factor of the Hot 100, nor is there even a real numerical way to even determine such a thing. Even if a Hot 100 position was completely indicative of how much people like a song (notice I said completely, because it does have some merit, but due to the Hot 100 being what it is, it can never be a sole determination factor of such a subjective thing), being #1 does not mean most people like your song, because it doesn't take majority to be at the top of the list. All it takes is more than the others. Just like how the top streamed song of the week wasn't streamed by most people, it was streamed by more people than any other song. If you're gonna get all technical and "akshually" about things, at least get it correct.

I don't agree, if a song gets listened to 45 million times in a week on a streaming service, they are not doing it because they are being forced too "Most popular" doesn't mean the song that gets forced on people the most during the week. Streaming, sales and airplay - all involve consumer choice to varying degrees - consumer choice then implies - they want to listen to a specific song As you seem to want to pick apart my post word for word, I do agree that the use of the word "most" by itself does not mean > 50 %. I concede to bad grammar here, when I typed "most...more than others". "Most popular" might mean only 3% of the music market caught the song when no other song got more than 1%. Which is certainly not the majority Thanks for the correction

can someone please inform me what "good" hip-hop is and what "bad" hip-hop is, i'm really confused There is no such thing, music is subjective. It's all what you make it. The main argument I see is "bad" hip-hop involves acts such as Lil Pump, Lil Xan, 6ix9ine, basically the entire Soundcloud rap posse. And "good" hip-hop involves more respected acts such as J. Cole, Kendrick Lamar, Eminem and so forth.

Lol, you think streams from Spotify are the only thing that matters? You always point out when a song isn't rising on Spotify like that decides where it's peak will be.

Since these threads get posted a full week before the actual chart comes out - nothing else to talk about?
Complain theme of the week(each week there seems to be one) - "Good Hip Hop" is fine for #1, "bad hip hop" is not. - LOL
If these threads were posted a little closer to the actual chart release day - we might have more relevant chart discussion - once in a while. - Just a thought

And it since it was listened to the most, it was liked the most. People only listen to songs over and over again if they like it.

It is just a complete mess. I know some people use this for charts( um we all do ). Well the charts aren't being discussed anymore.

When X died, there were pages and pages of people going at each others' throats. Right now, it's just minor disagreements. If you feel there is nothing else to discuss about the charts, then don't go on the chart discussion.
