How does an artist have higher priced tickets AND sell more tickets, but gross less?

Questions that need answers. I'm just glad more figures for Drake's tour are being released.

About his figures, the shows on his tour technically sell out once tickets fly off the shelf and a lot of those tickets get picked up by scalpers who resell those tickets for way higher prices. It's possible some of those tickets weren't able to be purchased by fans who would have attended the shows, but the figures count for the total gross of the show. Some people also buy tickets for a show and end up not being able to attend for one reason or the other. The shows on his tour have most certainly been sold out, though. His crowds have been ridiculous. I've attended four shows so far.

I don't think resales are counted in attendance? I think its simply the amount of tickets put on sale, and the amount sold. Scalpers tickets are included as sold, even if they have trouble re-selling, because the venue/artist/promoter still gets paid off their original purchase.

Yeah, I understand that. I'm also lost on where the disconnect could be coming from. It is an error thing or at the attendance and gross figures extremely accurate 100% of the time? Is there even a way of knowing any of this!?

It's not a competition lol, maybe Bruno sold more higher priced tickets and Drake sold more lower priced tickets.
