Charts-wise and streaming-wise, he is. He's also the best selling digital singles artist this decade. Loads of accomplishments that guy has to himself. Drake isn't the best "selling" Digital singles artist this decade, in the U.S or WW. He's the most "certified" Digital singles artist in the United States which is a different accolade. In terms of certificates he is just ahead of Rihanna (whom is the most certified among Females in the U.S and is the biggest "selling" Digital singles artist WW this secade) but with regards to Digital sales in the U.S, Katy Perry remains the biggest selling. So the certified units are what...? That's like you saying artists that go 3x platinum off streams are only "certified" 3x platinum because they didn't actually "sell" 3 million albums. That doesn't matter anymore. You move 3 million album equivalent units, you'll get your 3x platinum certification, which is the case that Drake is in. Drake has sold over 200 million records. He should be tied with or should have surpassed Eminem on that front by now, even though Eminem has "sold" more albums than him. All these technicalities will continue to fade away the more streaming establishes it's dominance. We've already seen digital sales die this year. Soon, it won't matter how many pure sale units you move in a week because it'll never be enough to score those platinum certifications if you're not also viable on the streaming end of things.

We've had 63 songs reach top 10 this year (so far). This is the most since 2007 had 67, and the previous year 2006 had 68. If this year passes those (seems likely), then that will be the most top 10s for a year in the Soundscan era (1992-present). Ironically, this heavy turnover has nothing on every single year pre-Soundscan (1959-1991) as they all more top 10s than this year. Part of that can be attributed to albums bombs. Outside of songs entering because of that phenomenon, I feel the songs that did manage to enter the top 10, otherwise, seemed to stick around longer than average this year.

Hot 100 Chart Moves: Metro Boomin Debuts 7 Songs From 'Not All Heroes Wear Capes'
News

Plus, "Wake Up in the Sky" & "Sunflower" rise, Camila Cabello debuts.
As Metro Boomin's new album Not All Heroes Wear Capes debuts as his first No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart (dated Nov. 17), with 99,000 equivalent album units, according to Nielsen Music, the producer sends seven songs from the set onto the Billboard Hot 100.
"Don't Come Out the House," featuring 21 Savage, starts the highest at No. 38, powered most heavily by 18 million U.S. streams, earning Metro Boomin his fourth top 40 hit. The seven debuts brings his total number of Hot 100 entries to 18, dating to his first, the No. 36-peaking "X," with 21 Savage and featuring Future, in 2016.
Metro Boomin (born Leland Wayne) has charted highest on the Hot 100 with his Offset collab "Ric Falir Drip," which hit No. 13 in March.
Here's a look at all seven bows from Not All Heroes Wear Capes on the latest Hot 100:
No. 38, "Don't Come Out the House," feat. 21 Savage No. 42, "10 Freaky Girls," feat. 21 Savage No. 51, "Space Cadet," feat. Gunna No. 62, "Overdue," feat. Travis Scott No. 72, "Dreamcatcher," feat. Swae Lee & Travis Scott No. 79, "No More," feat. Travis Scott, Kodak Black & 21 Savage No. 100, "Up to Something," feat. Travis Scott & Young Thug
Travis Scott scores his 29th, 30th and 31st Hot 100 entries of 2018. So far this year, only Drake has landed more: 34.
As previously reported, Ariana Grande blasts onto the Hot 100 at No. 1 with "Thank U, Next," her first leader on the list. Who else makes notable Hot 100 chart moves this week?
"Wake Up in the Sky," Gucci Mane X Bruno Mars X Kodak Black
Following the Oct. 31 premiere of its official video, the triple team-up bounds 26-14 for a new high on the Hot 100. The track jumps 20-12 on the Streaming Songs chart, up 20 percent to 21.8 million U.S. streams in the week ending Nov. 8.
"Sky" also soars 39-31 on Radio Songs (34.7 million in all-format audience, up 14 percent) and 50-36 on Digital Song Sales (8,000 sold, up 38 percent).
"Sunflower (Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse)," Post Malone & Swae Lee
Perhaps more poignant upon the Nov. 12 passing of Spider-Man creator Stan Lee, the song rebounds 24-23 in its third week on the Hot 100, after debuting at No. 9. It gains in all metrics, bulleting at No. 16 on Streaming Songs (19.2 million, up 3 percent) and No. 24 on Digital Song Sales (10,000, up 6 percent) and debuting at No. 45 on Radio Songs (26.3 million, up 25 percent).
"Consequences," Camila Cabello
The third radio single from Cabello's debut album Camila enters at No. 97 on the Hot 100. On the Pop Songs airplay chart, the ballad rises 24-21, up 16 percent in plays.
"This is, no matter where you stand, a really tumultuous time for so many reasons," WFLY (Fly 92.3) Albany, New York, program director Ally Reid recently mused on the Billboard Chart Beat Podcast. "For some people who look at radio as a respite from the day, [ballads] are very comforting. There could be, 100 percent, social elements that have people feeling these songs in a special way."

Hot Take - The only artists that can be guaranteed number ones rn are Adele and Ed Sheeran. I'd have reservations about literally anyone else but these two. What? If Rihanna released her lead single tomorrow there would be a high chance it'd debut at number one, if not then at least ascend to #1 within a few weeks and it's almost certain that it'd peak within the top five. Rihanna has been in the industry for 14 years now and has a track record far ahead of her peers. If Drake released a random single tomorrow there's a massive chance it'd hit #1 given the year he has had. Ed Sheeran is a fine hitmaker but outside of 'Shape Of You', "Perfect' was aided by multiple remixes at its peak. Adele is a big contender... just like Rihanna, Drake etc. Well we've seen that just because Drake drops a song doesn't mean it's an automatic number one. Rihanna, yeah you're probably right. Let's not pretend like Shape Of you was some sort of fluke and Ed can never do that again lol. You don't come off Divide, most streamed album by far btw, and not have guaranteed number one hype IMO. Perfect was going number one without the remixes and stayed at number one for most of its run without it. Had Drake comeback with another Passionfruit, Perfect would've had 12 weeks at 1. Hes clearly a force when it comes to the charts and the artist that streams better than him is Drake. He'd absolutely debut at 1 with as much time as Ari did if not less.

Ed has been in the top 2 of the H100 YE charts for four years in a row now... (counting Love Yourself which he wrote and is basically a ripoff of Thinking Out Loud) But even without LY, he’s had 3 YE top 2 hits in four years. I have no idea why anyone would count him out... I thought "Die a Happy Man" was the "Thinking Out Loud" ripoff.

Marshmello & Bastille's 'Happier' Hits No. 1 On Dance Club Songs Chart
News
By Gordon Murray | November 15, 2018 1:05 PM EST
Plus, The Prodigy debuts & Alesso goes top 10.
Marshmello and Bastille bounce to the top of yet another Billboard dance chart, rising 2-1 on the Nov. 17-dated edition of Dance Club Songs with "Happier." The track was remixed for clubs by Frank Walker, Breathe Carolina and Blanke, among others.
"Happier" is the second Dance Club Songs No. 1 for both acts, after Marshmello's "Silence," featuring Khalid, in November 2017 and Bastille's "Pompeii" in February 2014.
The collab continues atop Dance/Electronic Digital Song Sales, for 11 weeks running; Hot Dance/Electronic Songs (eight); and Dance/Mix Show Airplay (five). "Happier" also headed Dance/Electronic Streaming Songs for six weeks.
As previously reported, "Happier" concurrently becomes Marshmello and Bastille's first leader each on the Pop Songs airplay chart. It topped Alternative Songs one week earlier and has reached a No. 3 high on the all-genre, streaming-, airplay- and sales-based Billboard Hot 100 (which employs the same formula as Hot Dance/Electronic Songs).
DESTINATION FOR '"TOURISTS": The Prodigy returns to Top Dance/Electronic Albums with No Tourists at No. 7. The set bows with 3,000 equivalent album units earned, according to Nielsen Music. With most from traditional sales, the latest from the Liam Howlett-fronted act opens at No. 1 on the Dance/Electronic Album Sales chart.
Tourists is The Prodigy's fifth Top Dance/Electronic Albums top 10, spanning back to its sole No. 1, Always Outnumbered, Never Outgained, in 2004. Prior to the chart's creation in 2001, the heritage big beat act sent three titles onto the all-genre Billboard 200, including the seminal The Fat of the Land, which debuted No. 1 on July 19, 1997.
Fat spun off two Hot 100 entries, "Firestarter" (No. 30, March 1997) and "Smack My Bitch Up" (No. 89, January 1998). Another track from the set, "Breathe," remains The Prodigy's top-placing hit on Alternative Songs, having reached No. 18 in September 1997. On Dance Club Songs, the act has charted four tracks, all in 1992-93, including its lone top 10, "Wind It Up" (No. 7, June 1993).
ALESSO ASCENDS: Alesso earns his eighth Dance/Mix Show Airplay top 10, rising 13-6 with "Remedy." His "Heroes (We Could Be)," featuring Tove Lo, topped the list for four weeks in December 2014-January 2015.
